What's amazing is if you watch this segment with Colin Cowherd you never would realize how wrong Colin's entire perspective has been on USC since Lincoln rolled into town. No ownership from Colin how wrong he has been this entire time. But it seems Colin has mastered the tact of revisionist history and has learned the tool of the devil. On the way up, get on the bandwagon and when things go array, act like you predicted it the whole time. Colin should never be taken seriously again when talking about college football.

As usual, no credit is given to Utah. When USC, Texas, Michigan etc lose, it's obviously because they lost as opposed to the other team beating them.

It should be noted Clay Helton was 4-2 against Utah. It should also be noted that within the first 22 games both Clay Helton and Lincoln Riley hold identical records of 17-5. Just sayin..

OU fans knew Riley had deficiencies, but he is even worse now than he was at OU. I think Caleb Williams is the straw that broke Riley's back. Riley's schemes are not being utilized and it started in the Texas game in 2021 when he came in and started throwing 50/50 balls that Texas could not defend against leading to the big comeback victory. From that point on, Riley put his entire career on the back of Caleb Williams to the point to where Williams wasn't running Riley's offense, Riley was running Williams' playground style offense. And, that is pretty much how the defense operates as well. Just run around and make a play. Riley is soft and can't hold players accountable for their responsibilities, so he tries to look demanding when he disagrees with an official's call like he is some sort of tough coach.

Colin has been exposed as the greatest fraud in this whole ordeal. Riley a close second.

Two things we OU fans were happy to see go with Riley, were of course Grinch, and Benny Wiley. When they left OU had one (1) O lineman that could bench 300. Brent Venables first hire was Jerry Schmidt. A true football S&C coach. He got rid of all the rubber bands and kettle bells. OU immediately became Bigger, Stronger and Faster. Everybody out there in Disneyland talks about how complex Grinches defense is and that's the problem. As far a complexity goes Venables has one of the most complex D in the country. It's not the scheme. It's the teacher/coach. Riley was the same at OU as he is in LA with the media. That's the apple or the orange it has nothing to do with football. I don't care who is in front of the camera. I just want my team to win football games.

Caleb Williams is a good quarterback. But I don't think he's the best. Or shows up big in clutch moments. So far in his three years, he has not yet beaten a team that was ranked in the top 15. All of his wins are against weaker teams. But when he does finally play a team in the top 15, he crumbles. His biggest win is still beating Texas when he was at OU.

The overall problem is that Caleb sold out to Rileys idealogy that he was the "Golden Boy,the Savior",,the big Hollywood highlight reel",,,,invincible and unbeatable. Riley is only concerned about his reputation of coaching Heisman Trophy winners,nothing more!

I don’t think USC has only a talent problem they mostly have a culture problem. Lincoln Riley and Alex Grinch will never build a championship culture. You need strong, tough, football minded leaders to drive the team toward success. I would point to NIL and the transfer portal as another potential problem for all teams, but specifically, culture is the difference between what you see at USC and other teams in the top 25.

College is just a stop gap for some players until they are pros. Its a job interview process and once there is enough tape on you there is little incentive to finish the season and risk injury. There are many examples of players not being punished by NFL teams for quitting early so it will continue and only get worse.

Caleb has some arm talent (most big school QB''s do) but when I watch him he certainly doesn't jump off the screen like Marino or Elway did. I would rate him significantly down the QB talent ladder than those two, which for me means he's good but not great.

Difference is now one quarterback can't bail them out on a consistent basis. At OU during Riley's term, the main competition was Ok. St. and Texas, maybe K-State the last few years. USC faces the likes of Oregon, Utah, Washington, Notre Dame, with annually improving programs at UCLA, Oregon St., and Arizona. Plus the doublewides on both sides of the Line are following the dollars (NIL) to play in front of more eyeballs (east and central time zones) in the SEC and Big 10. How could any casual USC fan not see this coming?

I believe that the NCAA was seeing a systemic problem and made an investigation public on purpose. I believe we are seeing the results over this last weekend.
