I agree!! People make mistakes off social media but they never get cancelled so why should we cancel people on social media? They just need to be told that what they did is wrong but don’t cancel them because they’ll never learn

I was fired from my job as a reporter for my college’s newspaper because I supported law enforcement openly on social media. I was also afraid I was going to be expelled because students took screenshots of the post and took them to the Dean at the college. I ended up being able to stay at the university, but I never got my job back. All the students made threats to take my comments to every single job I apply for in the future...cancel culture is evil
yeah it's sad. we all make mistakes and we DEFINITELY need to be held accountable for our actions. but holding onto bitterness AFTER the person has repented is not Biblical.

I honestly LOVE how open you are about your faith ! We need so much more of this, especially in today's world. 📺 For video ideas ... I have a few. *Boundaries is one of them. Since starting my channel six months ago I've had to really focus bc working full time and doing one video a week takes most of my time. I still make time for daily journaling, reading the word + books of my choice, and just spending time with God. My plate is full in such a good way, BUT it's stressful when some of your friends don't understand your focus and commitment to God/doing RU-vid and overstep your boundaries that you clearly, and nicely set. The question is ... How do you handle meeting new friends (I'm talking about females - not guys/boyfriends) who you totalllly bond with, but they want to facetime on a weekly bases when you just don't have that much time in your schedule and are already trying to balance a full plate, and you nicely tell them multiple times you aren't able to answer to facetime b/c you're editing your video(s) - or whatever it is you're working on ? And, you still continue to see missed facetime calls from them and texts asking you to call them. Their advice to you is to cut back on RU-vid instead of respecting your boundaries/goals 🤭 How would you handle a situation like this ? Is blocking their # going too far ? I plan to do a video on this in the next few weeks and would LOVE your advice. This advice can go for anyone who is focused on theirs goals/school or whatever it is they are working toward. *Video idea #2: Tips for Christian RU-vidrs. Any and all things RU-vid for Christians. I watched TONS of videos (including yours 🥳) before starting my channel so I could get an idea on how people structured their videos, their thumbnails/tags etc. But, I never came across these type of videos that had Jesus/God a part of them. Personally, I don't make videos on what tubebuddy thinks is popular. I make videos on what I feel God has led me to speak on. Cancel culture is pretty toxic but it's absolutely necessary for people to be held accountable for crimes such as sexual assault and abuse, no matter how long ago it happened.
Yes, I can understand if the public figure has done something illegal not supporting them or working with them anymore. But Johnny Depp is an example of social media cancelling someone based on these kinds of false accusations. It's kind of sad watching people backpedal on their moral grandstanding when it turns out they were misled. I don't think the preoccupation with celebrities is healthy to begin with.

I understand what you're saying, and agree to an extent. "Canceling" someone over small mistakes made in ones past is defiantly not okay. No ones is perfect and if a person has spent the time to prove they've changed then they shouldn't be "canceled". The thing is that often cancel culture is often over an issue bigger than something small that has happened in ones past. There are a couple of influencers I can think of who have large followings and then it came out that they were dealing with big issues behind the scenes while simultaneously putting on this Christian front. 100% the Lord forgives and redeems and so should we, however just because someone apologizes and says they've changed does not mean that they should be able to jump right in where they've left off in a place of influence like nothing ever happened. There are consequences to actions and if someone is misusing their place of influence then they do not deserve to have it. In other scenarios where influencers apologizing for a problem, their audience forgiving them, and then it happening over again and again, they show that they have a habitual problem that needs to be dealt with. I guess what I'm saying is having a place of influence is a privilege not a right and if someone is making big mistakes in their life and proving to not have a good character then I don't believe they any longer deserve to have that place of influence.
hi there!! I think that's why individual freedom is so important to me. for example: if an influencer claims to be a christian but is doing a ton of shady things and not repenting of them, i have the freedom to unfollow that person. i believe that is very different from "cancelling" someone. to me, cancelling is just the modern word for bullying but it's now a large scale, accepted version of bullying. i definitely believe we should all have the freedom to follow, look up to, listen to, and support brands and companies that we agree with and stay away from brands or companies that we don't. and we can do that without "cancelling" everything about them.

For me it really depends, if the person has done something that is a crime or something that is disrespectful to a race or religion, then they should be called out for it and face consequences

This is EXACTLY what happened to Hartley Sawyer who played Ralph Dibny on the show The Flash! They fired him from his role and now will probably never get an acting role or job or something ever again because he posted something racist or something like that from many years ago, like 2012 or 2014. He apologized many times and has changed so much since the time he posted and they didn’t care, they just fired him. It’s horrible and disgusting!

This is so hard to open up about this but it's hard. Ever since I was a kid up until now being 22 I never lived my life to be genuinely happy it never happened for me. I felt like the universe and God did me wrong and therefore what's the point of being here. I know everyone can agree we all only have one life, one world, one eternity that we all live in and every person created now will be themselves forever. I am miserable and lost, I have always hated being Filipino, being Asian and being unattractive and ugly for a girl. I felt like I was born in the wrong place, in the wrong time, in the wrong day, in the wrong body, and in the wrong country. I completely hated the fate decided over my life. I never could love myself. I never bothered to develop any interests, go out places and adventures as much, figure out and have hobbies, know alot of movies and shows and music and games, etc, pretty much I am a sheltered individual who is clueless about the outside world and I dont even know how to drive a car or taxes and etc im dumb about this things. In my mind what's the point of putting myself out there in the world to live. What's the point of having fun because even if I did have fun I was still empty. The truth is I think what's the point of me putting myself out in the world outside the confines of my house and meet people and do things and learn much because even if I did all this things and travel and tried living fully I was still empty regardless of what I did or do or who I'm with because I hated God's decision over me. I hated how in this one life I had to turn out being Filipino, how I had to be Asian, how I had to be born ugly and unattractive and being unfortunate in the gene pool, how I am my being and personality. I felt like if God made me Caucasian, European, Hispanic, etc. too I would live my life to the fullest I ever can. If I was not Filipino and not at all any type of Asian and were a different race and am somewhat pretty I would live my life to the fullest and really enjoy the world spreading positivity to those around me, and loving God spreading his love to people, and also loving myself and accepting myself. But in this one life I'm living a nightmare because I am going to be this way for eternity why is it I have to be Filipino, and unattractive, and have my being and this is my reality. I feel like it's an insult when people or God would say you are made this way for a reason and for a purpose because I feel like in my thinking so I have to be born like this and be Filipino and look as I do and it should be this way for a reason, so whatever that reason is its mediocre it only required me to be unattractive and ugly and filipino to fulfill whatever that purpose is that for some reason I had to be unsatisfactory whereas he made many of his children the way they are for a purpose and for a reason and he did them in a good job and it seems like them being told that they are made that way for a reason and for a purpose its like a big compliment unlike mine. Like how did God even decide to make many people and choose well of for them to be Hispanic, European, Caucasian, etc and beautifully made unlike me. Aside from always struggling this way and hating how I look and am and my race it hurt so much also that I fell in love with my friend who is also a coworker of mine. All this time he used me and never really liked me, all this time liking another coworker of ours whose absolueltey physically attractive and beautiful in appearance and figure and style. And she too was also Mexican like him. It hurt a ton because he didn't take me seriously because I'm Asian I am Filipino and an ugly one. I got pregnant he wanted me to get an abortion but I didn't and I kept the baby. While all this time like the pretty friendly nice girl whose perfect for him. I think now how it hurts how is it God made many of his people really beautiful physically and others not so and are unfortunate. I feel bad je liked her and only used me but I know too that they are better of because she's Mexican like him, very pretty and has a great positive friendly personality. But it's a painful one when I think why couldn't God give me that reality too when I came in this world. Why did I have to be so ugly and filipino or just plain Asian and have my being I feel like this world is so beautiful but given my reality it won't ever do me anything to be happy genuinely in my heart because in this one life one eternity one world apparently I had to turn out Filipino, and ugly, and be this way, if I was otherwise I know well I would've lived it in a happy way too and love Gpd and love people spreading his truth on others. Why did God think so well for others making them beautiful and they some of them in turn also have beautiful hearts and he has chosen well over them but for someone like me in this one world one life we live in I unfortunately had to be chosen to just be Filipino and ugly and am this uts unfair and I wish I never existed. It made no sense to me why God thinks that the people he made they need to be made that way as how he wanted them to be and they turned out really well and when it came to him wanting me to be this way as he wanted me to be I have been decided such a poor decision over me like an insult. I don’t necessarily agree with this but I still love you. I believe people should get second chances when they mess up but i believe there is a limit to that. if they are doing the same immoral or wrong behavior repeatedly then I think it makes total sense as to why a company would not want to pay them. Especially if what they were doing was extremely inappropriate.
I would agree that crucification of a person is not ok. However behaviors and words have consequences and you have the freedom to spend time or money on or with like minded individuals, companies, etc. Additionally, cancel does not have to be the word used and wiping out existence is not ok but you also don't have to ascribe or give passive permission. Biblically you can't say anything you want without consequence there are consequences throughout the Bible. You have taken certain scripture and chosen to use it as examples. It does not have to be condemnation, it can be an election to say I choose not to subscribe to this speech or behavior. It is always interesting that people who judge others or have not experienced hate speech beyond childhood name calling say do away with cancel culture but we are supposed to reject and judge those who choose to say no platform for bad behavior or no audience for that behavior. They are still free to do and say what they want but people can choose not to take part. Some of what you express focuses too much on semantics and nomenclature or a word du jour and not what is actually happening. Who has been condemned to death in this cancel culture ? Job loss is not a death sentence. There is room between something being unacceptable or losing an audience and cancellation. It is sad that one would fuel hate speech, bad behavior, criminal activity by passively going along with it. To err and simply say I repent and repeat behavior or when conversations don't work, or knowingly and maliciously acting badly or in a hurtful manner should be unacceptable. It is ok to disengage and say, for me this is not ok anymore. One has to be aware actions have consequences it is why if a toddler burns their hand on a stove they never do it again. It is why people think before speaking and acting. It is why one learns from mistakes and repent and make attempts to not repeat behavior. That said I know if something I have done is unacceptable and warrants consequences than I must accept that too. One allows for change and forgiveness but that doesn't mean people don't have to answer for what they have done. , The harping on the word "cancel" is where the argument is weak or oversimplified. One should look at behaviors and walking in a Christlike manner. One is not cancelled because they lost their job or lost their public forum, that is a consequence. Should every mistake warrant such a loss, no, but some things are so egregious that they do call for just such a consequence. LIt is a bandwagon word people have jumped on. I don't have to associate with someone who says or behaves in a way that is cruel, that is not cancelling. Losing a RU-vid channel is not cancelling. One may say they follow God but that does not mean their behavior is aligned and we all have to choose what is acceptable in our walks. Maybe you should stop the narrative and speak on behaviors that aren't ok or help people to understand true repentance and forgiveness. No one is saying there isn't room for grace and room for change, it is far far more complicated than that. No one is saying death and interchanging the word cancel for death is incorrect and ill informed. You made the point you refuse to listen to Bethel music or attend Bethel churches in one of your episodes. You said something about their pastors. Your choice is not cancellation per se, it is just not ok for you and you don't want to give them a platform in your world. One could say that is cancellation, I would not. I say it is your right to say that is not for me. It is a choice and they are not goods or services. They are people and the beliefs of people. You are still free to make that choice and they are still free to say and do as they choose. You are taking away their platform in your world, and if they list their jobs for those beliefs or creating sermons around those beliefs it is not any different. There is still room for grace, but that doesn't mean there isn't a reaction to their actions or words. For now at least, for you in your walk what they do and say is not ok.
I'm trying to learn why we are sinners and why we deserve to die on the cross it's confusing to me why we are so bad I dont always see us as bad and I feel like that's not good and I dont understand how our sin was so bad that Jesus had to DIE I dont understand why we are sinners. I'm confused haha I know that Adam and eve had glorified bodies but then doubted God and ate from the tree but if they had glorified bodies how could satan trick eve to eat it? Aren't glorified bodies not capable of getting tricked Like when we are raptured we then have glorified bodies and full knowledge and satan has nothing on us but why could he trick us in the garden of eden? After they bit the forbidden fruit they had flesh bodies no longer glorified therefore they sin. But wasn't going against God in the first place sin? How can you sin in a glorified body if flesh is sin then doesn't that make glorified bodies not capable to sin? God told them not to eat from the forbidden tree but then satan was like yo girl ya gonna die you'll have knowledge like God and basically saying that God doesn't want you to be equal to Him He wants you lower to Him so if you don't eat the fruit God will be number one but if you eat the fruit you'll be just like Him is basically what satan was saying.
