Why does the vehicle radiator hose collapse?. every time you take the car for a ride, after getting hot it may overheat due to air lock in the engine block cooling system. Once the engine gets cold, notice the upper radiator hose shrink or collapse. this will mean the radiator need coolant(not water). Water can damage engine with rust, always use factory recommend coolant. See in the video how to fix callapes radiator hose. This problem will most likely happen for all engine radiator cooling system.
Thank you.

At least I know my system has no leaks, thanks!!

I has the same issue a few months ago with a Ford Ranger. Issue ended up being the line that goes from the radiator to the overflow reservoir was completely clogged with sludge. Once cleaned out issue was resolved. Easy way to diagnose this is to remove radiator cap and blow into the overflow and see if air comes out at radiator.

Wow great idea. My 06 Honda pilot keeps getting over heated while I'm accelerating but goes back down when I'm at a stop and the hose is suctioned like in the video. Did u have similar issues when u discovered it was the line that goes from ur radiator to the overflow?

@rebeccagorman-lykken1472 so the hose collapse issue is resolved and no it was not overheating. The vehicle I am speaking of has a bad temp switch so the car always reads cold but my neighbor does not want to replace just yet as the intake manifold needs to be removed to get to it. Pretty big job that he is not ready for. And for others this particular issue is not due to the thermostat.

Thank you man. For the easy diag💯 gonna try that here in a bit. Just recently did a head gasket, lifter, n new pushrods. Not sure if I bled my system properly or if the radiator cap is faulty or possibly the clogged line.

This is the most clear and easy to understand video explanation. I have coolant odor and flat hose. The cap might fix both problems.(2018 Ford Explorer) Thanks!!!!!!!

I had many more great videos. RU-vid destroy it all with deletion of my 2008 channel (35 million viewers + 40k subs) and hack my off-line Wi-Fi hard-drive to commit more damage. I think RU-vid minions hate my skin color and my non-American language. Racism is such a joy😂.

It can also be that the reservoir hose is clogged.

So are saying @0:46 that you replaced the old cap with an incorrect cap? namely with one that had an incorrect pressure rating ? Did the replacement cap @ 0:46 state the psi rating ? Do you know how many psi difference there was between the correct and incorrect caps?
@SteveXNYC
@SteveXNYC 2 года назад
Why does all that matter? I have experience for over 25yrs. Plus the radiator cap is only $5. Replacing the cap solve the problem. What's the deal?. The factory reccomend a 17psi cap. Alot of aftermarket cap look the same like the OEM Nissan brand but they are not when it come to the cap spring install height plus many other details.

Remember to fix all leak with a complete upper intake gasket joint kit. The coolant will leak in the engine valley area. You may never notice the leak sign the engine is hot. Have the cooling system pressure test at autozone or pep boys. The pressure test will reveal any leak at cold temp, if not you have to look carefully when the engine is hot.

@@SteveXNYC Why ??? well, because I wonder if the cap you said (@0:46 ) you used as a replacement might have been of a higher pressure rating which maybe didn't allow it to open when it needed to , thereby preventing the water from getting where it needed to go. I only been fussing with this stuff a short time, so I don't have a lot of experience like you, but I wondered how many # difference there might have been, since I was thinking of trying to save about 5 or, 6 bucks on a $16 cap if the difference between a 15psi and a 16psi was not worth worrying about. But now I think I will go by the book and buy the 15psi cap like they said. I read that the 1psi makes a difference of 45 lbs of pressure. That's why I wondered what the psi difference was between the 2 different caps you used. That's why I thought it mattered.

Dude by this radiator cap. www.nissanpartsdeal.com/parts/nissan-cap-assy-radiator~21430-4b701.html?vin=&make=Nissan&model=Frontier&year=2003&submodel=&extra1=&extra2=&filter=(1=KC;2=VG33E;3=FED;4=4WD;5=XE;6=AT) do not buy aftermarket radiator cap. I have tried many look alike and it cause problem.

@@SteveXNYC I just watched another video where he says that each 1psi on radiator cap raises BP by 2 deg. So I guess I must have heard wrong when I thought someone said "by 45 degrees". I guess that's a mistake on my part there. I hope I can remember who I thought said '45 deg'. Seems obvious now. I will go back and listen again, closer. I guess he must have said 4 or 5 deg., not 45 deg.
