Surprisingly, when you give a champion 4 dashes at all levels, an easy to hit aoe knockup, a damage reducing machine gun state, incredible split pushing, early game power and scaling, she becomes pretty broken. It's not even a jack of all trades thing, she just exceeds at everything.

The damage reduction is a crazy ability, it either needs way less damage reduction or way way less damage.

HI im a bel'veth main since release, I don't think another nerf will make any difference, issue with her is that bel'veth was designed to be an AA champ but she functions more like an AD caster with ability spam, I think the more logical move is shift her power from her abilities into her R on-hit passive, nerf q ad ratio it's too high for a 4 charge ability, and make her E dmg reduction only, but buff her on-hit on R it's really useless. this way she can interact with bonus AS she gets from passive instead of just ability spam.

This meta is about movement/mobility and scaling, Bel Veth is probably the strongest scaling jungler who also happens to have 4 dashes, it's that simple.

i think the best way to balance her out would be in the first place create a true weakness, being early game, so as to make it more fair for other champs, maybe reducing her overall dmg lvl 1 to 6, and then buff a little her late. Plus, I think making her passive actually matter would be the most viable strat, like making her abilities scale with her lavender stack, i.e. have her e's dmg reduction greatly nerfed, but scaling with her passive stacks in a similar way to ability haste, so the more you have, the less the augments gets per stack, maybe a cdr reduction on w (similarly, heigher base cd, lowered by stacks) and base dmg on q. This would make her something of a kindred-like jungler, much more manageable to handle and with a much higher skill floor to play well, but a real threat in the late game.

I honestly respect the section saying that She is not freelo. So many content creators exaggerate a champ and put in their thumbnail "OMG X CHAMPION BROKEN WITH X ITEM GET 100% WIN RATE WITH THIS KOREAN BUILD". And you are the only content creator that has finally just said that the champion is strong and not broken, but only when in the right hands and I fully respect that

I love her, yes, the dmg reduction and lifesteal E ability is kinda stupid but in my eyes that's the only thing they need to nerf, she relies so much on a perfect early game that because she's melee and her only cc is not that big of a deal, it can be pretty tough to play if you fall behind.

A small tangent, saying that fighting games are purely about reaction time and mechanical skill is genuinely a terrible take. There’s a lot to go into but to not end up with a video essay script I’ll keep it at the bare essentials: Characters almost-always possess tools that specifically punish people for playing in a reactionary way, otherwise each high-level match would result in a stalemate where nobody wants to attack first. In addition fighting games are becoming more lenient in terms of how much mechanical skill you need to deal a lot of damage, removing overly complex inputs and adding simplified controls for example.

I picked up Bel'Veth only AFTER she was nerfed cause I didn't want to play a broken on-release champion. I love her kit so much

A simple way to nerf her early is stopping her from buying a dorans along a jungle item. Next up reduce the E damage reduction at max lvl and make her Q base damage reduced early till Q max lvl where it gets its dmg back (maybe it should do like 30% less dmg until you put 5 points in her Q)

While i'm not High elo, yet, Jung is my 2nd highest winrate role and is basically carried by Bel'Veth, I tend to invade early and focus on ganking top repeatably until Void Grubs, take Grubs, keep invading and ganking until 2nd Grubs, then just kind of roll over the game normally, and I've had like 10 or more games where I used my team as a distraction to just outright end the game, I love her and feel she is super fun to play. I think if you balanced the E more towards Jungle usage and nerfed the early dmg on her Q she'd be more balanced, if you nerf the Q she might be forced to lvl E especially if you make it more of a farming ability, then she could become more like a lategame Jungle carry

I really enjoy playing her in aram because of how good she is at making picks, you q/flash/both out of a bush and w someone on their team, its too dumb to fail lol

I don't think a skill that provides an insane amount of damage reduction should be dealing this much damage (if any damage at all). If they decide to keep the damage part, she should be able to get knocked out of the ability with a displacement ability so there's counterplay to it if drafted correctly. Also, a champ with insane late game scaling who also gains more abilities as the game goes on (her void minions) should never have a strong early game.

From 200 gold ahead to 1500 in one play. And yet people refuse to admit snowballing is outrageous.

Given how overloaded her kit is it makes sense that she's in a state where she can accel at every stage of the game. As a hyper carry they need to gate her power away from early game. I don't think her kit needs a rework but they could gate her power by increasing the time between her 4 dashes at base rank and decreasing it with each rank. Also tie more power into her ult form ie more damage reduction for E when in ult and something for her W (can only cast during Q when in ult form) or thing of that nature. I like her but her oppressive state needs to be fixed...

As a casul belveth player myself i can say that it truly does feel like this champ dosen't really have a point in the game where shes really vulnerable, early game is generally pretty easy, either free farm or be aggresive and snowbally, both work. Mid game is the weakest point but still good if you didn't screw up early, and late game is self explanatory. There really hasn't been a time where i could blame teamates or external factors, when i lose i know it is 99% my fault, bel has way too much agency and carry potential early, mid and late, which allowed me to focus on my own gameplay rather than anything else, which i love. e is crazy op early tho XD

belveth is my most played champ, but i think every champ is op if u put much time in it. there are much easyer champs where u need less time to archieve good results

dunno how much I agree with your agurin take... His historical favorite champs are j4, kahzix and elise... Not sterotypical high clearspeed powerfarmers. Sure the brand and shyvana arc are recent things but he has times where he just spams a certain champion and sees how far he can get with them; its more a challenge than a change in champ pool (think how other content creators might do unranked to diamond challenges). Idk if the brand arc was that but he has stated that that's what he's doing with shyvana. To paraphrase him, playing a trash champion to see how far he can get with it.

Your game knowledge is insanely important, i'd argue more important than reaction time and combos combined. If an opponent is beating you with a strategy you don't know how to beat then it doesn't matter how good your combos are. Classic beginners fallacy with fighting games.

Good analysis. This is a player from South Korea. Obviously, she has a low win rate in the late stages despite having the stack. So if you don't play well in the early game, you're exponentially weaker, and even if your passive doesn't have that much of an impact, it's still necessary, so if you don't win the early game, it's more useless than anything else. So why does she have a better win rate now? The first is the change in items. Last year, she had a hard time getting items. But now, her items are sorted through her whip, and she has more options for attack speed-related items. Secondly, the new monsters affect her and she can play at a fast pace, with a chance to transform once every 10 or 14 minutes. I think these two are the biggest, and I think her skillset is pretty bizarre. Which champion's passive has a disadvantage (75% damage reduction)... If she needs to be nerfed, I don't have a choice, but I would like to see her skillset become more laning oriented.

regardless of how broken she can be I just love her gameplay and design and its just very fun to play :D. You really feel like a powerful world ending threat lol, because every enemy dies when u see them.

I'm by no means a competitive player in league anymore, I'm mid gold to high platinum-ish. I've had like, an 80% winrate on belveth since she was released, and frankly, she's been even more powerful with the rift grubs thrown into the game.

Yea I just jungled against a Belveth and she's basically 3 levels above you in strength in the early to mid game. By the time you'd catch up even as a hyperscaling jungler, she is 10/1/2 and the game is over. It's completely ridiculous, especially how the E is just a auto-win-fight button against any melee champion

Hi Exil, can you maybe do a video about Sion? The champ has an interesting story and Riot is just afraid of ever buffing the champion. Even when he has a 46% win rate, they are not considering to give this dude a buff.

I've been loving every champ from the void, but riot keeps making their scaling good (example like kai'sa and Bel'Veth) and honestly I'm fine tuning the kit but if it's killing the champion it really make me sad. Btw really hope they make cho'gath R range scale with his size

Don't just *reduce* the percentage damage reduction she has. Remove it. She shouldn't have that. Staying put and machine-gunning the enemy should be a high risk thing to do. Imagine if Kog'Maw's W gave him % damage reduction when active, or Jinx's minigun stacks gave her % damage reduction when at max stacks. She shouldn't get free tankiness when she starts to buzzsaw anything that she clicks on, especially since she also can use lifesteal during it as well. Giving Bel'Veth percentage damage reduction was just as stupid a decision as giving Akali "True Stealth"; anyone whose brain could look past the flashy plays to see the implications on game balance already knew it was a mistake before it went live.
