Great video! I do think these potential leaks are interesting and I'm definitely curious to see how they shape up in game because like you said they are sort of a bit different/out there for DbD. That equally worries me a bit too that they won't have that 'anniversary impact' that many expect. But, hey, I have faith in BHVR to pull it off regardless.
ngl i had to do a double take when i saw this notification because i watched a video of yours like 2 days ago but ty!!! i really appreciate it and yeah D&D vecna could definitely lack the impact other licenses might have, and might even build resentment in some people who only want ST vecna but i honestly think castlevania could be really good for DBD and bring a fair amount of people to the game, and regardless i would be super hyped to get a vampire in the game and i'm sure a lot of other people feel similarly
I’d say they’re definitely still impactful choices. Singularity was impactful for being the game’s first foray into science fiction. Vecna would be the same but for fantasy.
In D&D, the Warlock class has access to "invocations". Sable Ward introduced a new perk type... 'Invocation". Maybe a D&D based survivor introduced with Vecna could be a Warlock with a new invocation perk? Sorry if someone else posted this theory, I didn't read all comments.
That would be pretty cool, but it would have to function extremely different to how invocations actually work. It would be cool as a naming reference though.
It's very likely it would be Kas, the vampire, ex general of Vecna that had slain him and got punished by banishment into fog like realm where he's doomed to constantly prepare for Vecna's return. It's very likely that Vittorio's newest set implies it is Kas (or it's meant to be Dracula, but they don't tend to tease chapters that far away) But, I wouldn't be surprised if he would got skins that would build up purchases, maybe Minsc? Or someone from BG3 like Astarion (who I think is the most popular one).
So, I had this tin foil hat theory too, but in a different way; That invocation perk is Ritual Magic at it's finest. So it could really be any caster. So I'm sort of expecting Elminster. Though it's possible the guy who said Kas might be right. Most likely though, it'll be Drizzt Do'Urden. I don't want it to be Drizzt Do'Urden, but if there's an iconic protagonist to oppose this iconic villain, it's sadly him.
@@JRook-00 I'm not sure if they would like to show Drizzt or Elminster as a poster representation for powerless role in the game that's supposed to die repeatedly - after all one is pretty much the ultimate powerhouse and another is THE good guy from DnD - maybe as legendary skins. But you know what, they have one more recognizible DnD character not connected to Vecna or specific property - Volo. I doubt anyone would mind if he's powerless or killed. Still, I think it would be Kas if DnD Vecna will be the next chapter (considering that vampire castle in the fog from Vittorio). But honestly I'm curious who could be the survivor (see how it will turn out it's just Minsc because they put Minsc everywhere they can - but if so, maybe Boo will be at least a perk).
So, I was talking with a friend today about all this 70% probability of DnD Vecna coming for the 8th anniversary...because of the DnD anniversary, the leaks, and all that... And then he said: "Don't be so sure...don't you remember what happened with the obvious chapter about Candyman for the 4th anniversary? How many clues there were for the bee guy and who ended being the killer?" And I have to admit that he has a point...
true, but wasn't candyman being the 4th always speculation? like i remember there being good points, but vecna for chapter 32 is a LOT more likely than candyman ever was imo still not confirmed and COULD be something else, but more likely at the very least
If I could have a licensed chapter I'd have The Evil Within. I Could def see that with survivors being Sebastion Castellanos and Juli Kidman. For killers prob The Keeper, Ruvik, and Stefano. The powers for killer could be really interesting especially in case with Stefano and The Keeper. The keeper could teleport around the map like Sadako and having traps and some type of special attack with his hammer or bag of spikey heads. With Stefano he could have a nerfed shift ability like nurse and have An ability to throw his knife or camera that slows down survivors. Idk I think it could definitely work.

Even if it's something as simple as an Elf it would sell so much, but I gotta agree, absolutely missed opportunity if they don't go for a Dragonborn or Tiefling.
Here's a fun little theory. Over the last year or so, we've had a heavy focus on sci-fi. Besides Chucky and the mid-chapters, every chapter since skull merchant has been sci-fi, almost like the year has had some sort of theme to it. With the next two chapters potentially being DnD and Castlevania, two massive fantasy licenses, it makes me wonder if the year going forward will have a horror-fantasy theme to it.
There's been talks between Cassandra Petersen and the Devs about bring Elvira: Mistress Of The Dark into the fog. She'd make such an awesome midchapter license.
They probably have a hate boner for fnaf. Like it makes no real sense unless the copyright holders are just not budging. It would be a financial slam dunk. I guess they might also be afraid of bringing a bunch of children into the game
@@PistolSlinginMothManI think it has more to do with the target audience. FNAF’s target demographic has skewed far younger than most IPs currently in DBD. I still would love to see the series in DBD but considering the direction they’re going in, I don’t think they’d want to put the series in an M rated game when they’ve rarely ever showed extreme violence
I can add one thing because I know a bit about dnd not much tho Vecnas iri addons will probably be the eye of vecna and the hand of Vecna 2 super powerful dnd items that were part of Vecna and id guess most of the other addons would be some of the magic items he has created or owns Also a Dragonborn survivor would be unrealistic but cool because of how unique it would be
The new DnD campaign about Vecna also takes place all across the DnD multiverse. It isnt a stretch to connect the DBD universe as one of the many in a crossover event.
I think Shao Kahn from MK would make great killer for the game. A Mortal Kombat paragraph would be awesome I would also really like to see Candyman and predator too. And how can I forget about Jason Voorhees and FNAF my life would be complete of these characters were added in..
@@assembled1855 aren't we getting Dungeons & Dragons for the anniversary and that franchise is not considered a horror franchise but it does have horror elements so does Mortal Kombat. Besides Mortal Kombat has already collaborated with so many horror franchises over the years which I can see why because Mortal Kombat fits with the horror genre due to its blood,violence & Gore. And there's already a majority of Mortal Kombat fans that played dead by daylight and we will love to see Shao Kahn as a killer. Heck I just want a Mortal Kombat paragraph just so we can have a horror fighting game.

The only reason why I like to see Mortal Kombat paragraph in game it's because Mortal Kombat has so many evil characters but they're not just evil some of them are horror characters and I can name a few of them. Mortal Kombat is just that one game that has so many elements it has horror,fantasy,sci-fi, and so many others. There's definitely characters that would fit in this game & my favorite would be Shao Kahn he's brutally evil and don't forget this franchise has blood and gore something that other fighting games don't even have. If the anniversary is Dungeons and Dragons then definitely Mortal Kombat fits too. That would be really awesome if Freddy Krueger notices a familiar face coming through that fog shao kahn. The last time these two met was in Mortal Kombat 9.
I feel like most people are forgetting about the Mad Designer as this year's potential anniversary killer. The Blight was released right before the 3rd Hallowed Blight Event. This year is the 3rd Twisted Masqerade & I highly doubt they would do 4 years of the same anniversary theme since the devs like to shake up event themes (just look at how the Lunar New Year event was replaced this year with the Blood Moon). There is a lot of evidence to support D&D as the anniversary chapter, however I don't feel like the devs would go four years before releasing a heavily teased killer.
Bro the community would go up in flames if there was a Vecna killer that isn't the Vecna from stranger things. It's like calling a killer "the predator" but it's just a bipedal tiger instead of the obvious expectation

The majority of the playerbase looooves Stranger Things, just look at how many players came in with the first chapter and cried when it left, begged for it to return and cheered when it did. After the RE chapter 2 we got with Wesker, the anticipation for an ST Chapter 2 is thru the roof

@aidantaylor117 exactly, and since we learned that Henry was behind even the Mind Flayer in season 4, it means that If the Entity was talking to the Mind Flayer, it was talking to Vecna as well, because of the hive mind. Also you're right, calling him "The Vecna" would be silly. Probably gonna call him "the One" or something
It can be all true... I think Dracula is really coming. And believe me, Jason Voorhees is coming at the 10th DbD anniversary chapter. They know how much people wants Jason and they know the right time to do it.
I know next to nothing about DND, but I’m hyped about Vecna simply cuz he seems like a God like character, and the more powers a killer has the more unique they can be gameplay wise, idk if these are abilities Vecna has in DND, but what if My Little Oni was a test to see if they could add a size changing character into the game or a flying character, like they were testing camera angles to see if they could allow Vecna to fly or something
The only thing driving me crazy, as a dnd and DBD fan, is ‘Why Vecna?’. The Stranger Things people will be disappointed he’s not their version and Vecna is a final boss, not really a horror character. Strahd is really a better choice for a dnd inclusion since he’s not only a vampire, which is heavily requested, comes with his own survivor and has easily the most horror themed campaign. Plus, unlike Vecna, he’s not as all powerful and godly, so he won’t seem unreasonable(?).
strahd would definitely make a lot of sense, but my only problem would that be, if the leaks are real, we're getting dracula from castlevania right after this and 2 vampires back to back would be more than a little repetitive though there is a possibility they do a strahd skin for dracula, though i don't think they've ever done something like that before (licensed character having a skin transforming them into a character from a completely different license)
To further support the Castlevania/Dracula part of the leak, take a look at the recent skins for Vittorio, Jane, Jake, & Felix. These gothic horror sets (when you inspect the sets and individual items) seem to reference a "Damned Master" in a "Cursed Castle" who mesmerizes, then bites Vittorio's neck, drawing blood. The sets also seemingly reference a werewolf (Jake), Carmilla/female Vampire (Jane), and the castle Castlevania itself (Felix).
So if Dracula IS added then it sounds like we would get Simon and Richter as survivors. My only demands for the castlevania content is that Draculas chase music NEEDS TO BE OFFICIAL MUSIC be it bloody tears or something. I NEED official music added in SOME CAPACITY! CVs music is almost more iconic than some of the games. Also, Castlevania (Draculas castle) would be an fucking awesome new map as we don't really have an actual castle map. Also when dracula hooks people he has to say the thing. You know the thing.

@NotK0R0 i feel like dnd vecna speculation would turned out to be the same as our for honour licensed chapter which was scrapped, i can clearly see Bhvr getting dnd vecna as replacement for st vecna, and after Bhvr fimally getting st license back with full content re'released we can clearly see Bhvr would make bigger amount of money by releasing second stranger things chapter with map which we've already seen a bit back at end of july 2022 i can clearly see dnd vecna as a skin for any killer but i don't see any map or survivior drom dnd unlike stranger things, so yes i'm 90% sure St vecna is next license after seeing halloween event which was very similiar to st upside down and the cureent blood moon event which lobby was very similiar to st vecna's dimension from season 4 it's very clear Bhvr shows both Resident evil abd Stranger Things licenses maked them biggest bucks even from their bigvamount of cosmetic i can only see 2 licenses we already have without resident evil which deserves 2nd chapter Stranger Things and Ash and his respective franchise

Love to see springtrap come in with movie Mike and Vanessa as survivors and a pizzeria map , I think it would be super cool if you repaired the main generator on the map the curtains open and you see the animatronics preform
how is vecna similar at all to springtrap or candyman, genuinely? springtrap and candyman have been popularly speculated for YEARS and this is the first i've ever really seen vecna in DBD talked about this much, not to mention it's all derived from a fairly credible rumor that could easily end up being a leak
As much as it sucks that FNAF wont likely be in DBD this year, I am BEYOND the moon over Castlevania! And even better, the VA of Dracula might be the one from the Netflix show, which gives me a lot of hope and excitement seeing one of my favorite horror series in the game!

I have a few issues with these leaks. For starters as a DnD fan, it makes no sense for Vecna to be in DBD. Vecna is a mutiversal level threat. They could enclave all the current DBD roster. I can’t picture Vecna running around, M1ing, and being pallet stunned. Next is Castlevania Dracula. I remember BHVR mentioning they would rather do their take on a vampire and werewolf instead of licensing since it gives them more creative freedom. Dracula is public domain and if BHVR makes their own Dracula they can sell their own merch of their Dracula and make as many cosmetics they want to.
I mean there’s multiple beings in the realm that are insanely powerful. Sadako and Pinhead are absolute monsters in universe. Second, the devs have gone back on shit countless times. Remember when Cote said Chucky would never be added? Remember when they said they’d never add a clown or a non human killer?
At this point, Gumpy is pretty much 101% right. The PTB probably happening on the date of Vecna’s campaign releasing, the Gothic Tales collection heavily teasing Dracula (and in general resembling Castlevania’s aesthetic, not to mention Felix’s surname being Richter!), the various teasers and Easter eggs… Not to mention he was fully right about All Things Wicked. This is one of the craziest leaks in DbD history
i really think that the next killer will actually be Strahd von zarovich. they've been teasing a vampire killer for a while now, and it would still match the D&D license they are going for. also, strahd is more of an horror villain than vecna, IMO.

I honestly doubt it that DnD chapter would be without survivor. As of now Vecna kinda has an enemy in Kas - a vampire who got banished into a fog realm after Vecna got defeated by him. There he was given a castle and this realm manipulated him into being powerless, constantly in fear of Vecna returning and preparing for that (while forgetting what had slain him in the first place). So yeah, he probably would be a surv (meaning that we would got a survivor vampire before killer one). Also, Vittorio's newest cosmetic pretty much suggets it (castle in a fog, lord of the castle was a vampire that bit him). Not to mention they would waste insane financial opportunity if they wouldn't got for survior - because survivor from DnD basically let's them create skins of characters like Baldru's Gate companions (from 1 to 3, meaning Minsc, Imoen or Astarion) or legends from DnD like Drizzt. Also, remember what happened almost a year ago. Baldur's Gate 3 released and popped like crazy, being acclaimed as the best game created for a while, they would be insane to pass on that opportunity to collab with DnD and maybe get BG3 skins in the future. A great way to lure new people into DBD, and they definietly are looking for that. It also checks out with how long development and licensing process takes them for a chapter (like 10 months, meaning that from August to June they would have pretty much 10 months to do it). Also, Hasbro loves collabs - see Magic the Gathering. I wouldn't be surprised if by any chance they made collab cards from DBD that will release sometime in the future (maybe if DLC sells well?).
Nah we have TOO much dryness since last chapter until next chapter, i have a feeling were gonna get Stranger Things pt2, with Vecna ST, and then Vecna DND having a skin by being coerced by Netflix to work with them on this considering ST chapter was a huge success on release and re-release.
Honestly Having dnd vecna would be the PERFECT fuck you to netflix, im glad stranger things is back.... But id never trust them again after they pulled the plug.
It's all fun and giggles until they release someone like Jason Voorhees and the power is absolutely horrendous to play/go against 😭 Don't get me wrong the hype is definitely there, but it's funny when they finally drop a really hyped license, only for the killer to have an uncreative/boring power (biggest culprit is Alien, Chucky to some degree) Like I can totally see everyone going crazy when Jason drops, but a month after everyone hating on him bc his power is just, awful...I think they said the current code didn't allowed them to have much liberty, but I can't remember where

gumpy never said when the date was for castlevania he just said it was coming and they take a year to make a chapter so it could come later we just don't know and fnaf looks way to likely because scott just telling developers to restart on a dbd like fnaf game so it can go either way
potentially, he did list all of the chapters in order up until this point which would suggest vecna as 32 and dracula as 33 iirc he said something along the lines of "chucky, alan wake, original killer (similar to legion), vecna (from D&D), dracula from castlevania chucky, alan wake, and the original killer (unknown) all released in that exact order with nothing else in between it is technically possible but i wouldn't call it likely atp
Im pretty disappointed tbh, it would have been the opportunity to get another stranger things map (because... i mean, visually speaking, the one we have is stunning, but it really is a pain to play on it), and 1 or 2 new survivors from stranger things, that would have been amazing and really cool considering fans are waiting for the last season
I honestly feel like if they add FNAF people still wouldn't be Happy because it wouldn't be how they wanted it there are just some people who just wouldn't be satisfied regardless but fingers crossed
As much as I like these licenses, it still sticks to what is “Relevant”. I’d personally like to see it expand to include some obscure horror icons as well. Pumpkinhead, Brundle Fly, Tarman, and Judas Breed would be insane. Would also love to see Survivors from Shaun of the Dead or the George A Romero Zombie films. Also, just a heads up, while you don’t think there are any good D&D survivors, I can definitely see them introducing an half-Orc or Elf or something, just to make the survivors a little more diverse. Think about it.

Before I ever played dbd I played d&d with my brother, and one of the major villains I ran as dm was vecna, so him appearing in dbd would be a dream come true.
6:24 Minsk and Boo, Drizz't (anyone from the Legend of Drizz't series really), then there's the D&D movie characters, and a whole host of D&D characters from Larian Studios Balder's Gate 3. This could be huge, and it could bring a whole wave of ttrpg gamers and fans of the D&D movie into DBD.

Another thing worth noting is that Cote is a big fan of DnD. During the Halloween livestream. They did a DBD themed DnD campaign. He also has multiple DnD books that can be seen in interviews and he apparently plays it weekly. So it makes sense why he’d go for DnD. Also I do feel that Castlevania makes sense. It’s a Konami IP and BHVR is very close with them. Plus it’s one of the earliest examples of crossing horror and gaming. While the games themselves aren’t horror they are so drenched in horror vibes that I give them a pass.
i really want them to give a killer mutiple passives and powers! like 2 passives survivors have to deal with and 2 powers! not just one passive and one power! etc... eitherway they can make the powers and passives more weak but the killer can have more! so surivvors have to deal with more on the map. kinda tired of just one teleport/lunge attack. they should allow Vecna to see the locations of surivvors through their eyes or something at certain times, addons can place terror radius or make them oblvious. they can add AI bots on the map that when facing vecna surivovrs that just walk/ hide from killer and run from the killer but vecna can kill them and gains power while surivvors can lead them to a safe zone for escape!, vecna gains power if he gets them. hooking surviovrs gives vecna more power abilities or something.

ehh, two entirely different licenses so i don't think that would work even though ik the two companies have a good relationship and are connected very well, he'd be better off coming in for a 2nd ST chapter/mid-chapter, or just as a skin for steve
I think the next killer is gonna have something to do with the new game mechanic added, Pin which Viktor gives in the ptb stops people from crawling away and it would make little sense to keep it a twins mechanic ( or counting bear traps)

TECHNICALLY, Unknown IS actually Army related. Per his lore, UVX (Unknown Venom X) was discovered by the military. The fact that he is teased to be several different things; an alien, a serial killer, a military experiment gone wrong, it's fair to say that he is actually military related! So, kudos to you! 👏

Not really, vecna in dnd is a lich god, ST vecna could be his own killer next year though, no one is saying we can't have two very different killers that have the name vecna
