I was introduced to Cheap Trick through the movie 'Over The Edge. Hello There and Surrender introduced me to band. Later on K-Tel released The Rock Album, which had the Dream Police and the rest is history 🤔 👌!!!!!!

My first CT album was Dream Police. I bought it after hearing the title track played late, late at night on my AM transistor radio. The broadcast was from WLS in Chicago and I lived in northern MN.

Your video is great! The first vinyl I got is at Budokan by Cheap Trick, it's my favourite live album of all times, they are really a live band. :]

I saw Cheap Trick in the 1980's, somewhat after their heyday. The rest of the band were great but Zander, was positively OUTSTANDING as a live vocalist. They needed a few more great songs than they had, to really cement their legacy. Power pop found a home and spawned a few great bands in the Midwest, great lakes region. Todd Rundgren, Cheap trick and Raspberries come to mind.

@@aplaceinfrance9279 I agree. They have plenty of great songs. Poor management and meddling from the record company was part of the problem but a mention in a bad light in a VERY popular movie hurt their careers more than any other single thing... I hate fast times for that reason. Whoever wrote it clearly didn't like them and since the movie was hugely popular, it caught on and severely hurt their careers... They should have sued.

The very first time i ever saw Cheap Trick was in 1977 as the opening act for KISS. I knew they were gonna make it big. Have seen them over 25 times live, and they always put on a great show for their fans. So deserving to make it into the RRHOF in 2016!!!!!!!! 👍

@@poprocksradio It was a hellva show. It was at the Cow Palace in San Francisco on the night Elvis passed away August 16th 1977, and the tickets were $6.50!!!! 😱

I love how you ended it, not on a hit from their heyday but one of the best newer songs they have. If It Takes a Lifetime should have been the first release off Rockford. They would have had a 3rd heyday...They put out a new album every couple years, still... and in their 70's..

They did not release great albums after great albums, imo. I'm still a fan though. Been listening to them almost all my life.

Admittedly, I think you're right...that is probably a little hyperbole on my part (I really love this band) 😀. I do, however, think that even their albums that are considered sub-par have some great little gems in there...don't know how they keep doing it after all these years! Thanks for watching!
