Limiting the export of rare earth, will be good for China , as it will reduce its toxic waste from the mining process. As for Lynas increasing its mining process too bad for Malaysia as they will be the one who have to bear the toxic waste. Not US, not Aussie.

Indian mining industry is operating in an unscientific manner as a result we are loosing huge amounts of rare Earth Materials We have failed to identify mine and process these rare Earth Materials; Cement, Infra and construction industry uses the majority of mineral reserves without knowing that it may be loaded with some of the most expensive elements

When your overpass is slightly radio active due to the cobalt material pacted in it's compound. It was odd to hear old Joe shut the cobalt mines down and send them to India because it was, "cheaper". Cheaper isn't always good.

Fails to note that the MP Materials mine does not have heavy rare earths (concentrations far too low to mine) and that it sells and ships its rare earths to China. Also fails to note that MP is the re-boot of a twice bankrupt mine with a history of defrauding the Pentagon (and it appears that they have done this again). Otherwise, an excellent summary.

Their metals so need to be mined. Some countries have some while others in are in other parts. So it's complicated. And refinement is messy. And if China takeover Taiwan there goes chip production. China has actually stopped supply to Japan before. Fishing or something.

In ALL the You Tube videos I had viewed in the last 12 years or so about what the rare earth elements really are, the persons who had posted the videos had the propensity to say what modern technology and gadgets needs which rare earth elements but NONE of them had told the viewers what they are. Either they do not want you to know too much or they themselves do not know, or both. Here are the 17 rare earth elements if you you are interested to know: 17種稀有金屬元素 (中國30.8%, 俄羅斯21.6%, 美國14.8%): 1.0 鈰(Cerium Ce) 2.0 鎝(Dysprosium Dy) 3.0 鉺(Erbium Er) 4.0 銪(Europium Eu) 5.0 钆(Gadolinium Gd) 6.0 钬(Holmium Ho) 7.0 鑭(Lanthanum La) 8.0 Lutetium (Lu) 9.0 釹(Neodymium Nd) 10. 镨(Praseodymium Pr) 11. @@alexvig2369 In economics, a free market is a system in which the prices for goods and services are self-regulated by the open market and by consumers. In a free market, the laws and forces of supply and demand are free from any intervention by a government or other authority, and from all forms of economic privilege, monopolies and artificial scarcities.[1] Proponents of the concept of free market contrast it with a regulated market in which a government intervenes in supply and demand through various methods such as tariffs used to restrict trade and to protect the local economy. In an idealized free-market economy, prices for goods and services are set freely by the forces of supply and demand and are allowed to reach their point of equilibrium without intervention by government policy.
