There is another secrets of Ns-10s: While Post-Graduating on audio post production, I stumbled on a Harvard research paper on 30+ leading monitors, stating that Ns-10s have the shortest decay that any monitor has ever produced in the history of studio speakers (with data). Both in the the low-Lmid and highs. This makes these speakers very very efficient in reproducing the sound signatures.

@nebstaism - If you don't mind me asking, in what way do you like your Yamaha HS8 monitors when compared to the NS10's? I was thinking of one day getting the HS8's but held off. Do the HS8's have a similar mid-high mid range harshness as the NS10's?

That is a valuable information to consider when mixing next time. By the way, I am a current student of Andrew and I can confirm that his course is superior to everything I experienced on the Internet. I did half of course until now and my mixing has improved dramatically. And I was no beginner.

I was given a pair of NS10 just yesterday & I absolutely enjoyed listening to some of my favourite songs on them at a low volume! I have been mixing (at low volumes) on Yamaha HS5 for a few months & those mixes sounded great on the NS10's too! I really love these NS10's as the detail has blown me away! I'm looking forward to my first attempt at a mix on them!

@@AndrewZeleno1 Hi Andrew. They are a pair of NS-10M STUDIO. They definitely sound different to the HS5 when compared. I liken it to a brand new Fender Strat which sounds nice & bright where as an older & well played Fender Strat has an open, breathing mid range tonal quality to it. The NS-10 make the music/instruments sound like they are in the room with you. It'll be interesting to hear what my first mix on them will sound like when played on other systems.

The Harshness was refined from the 2nd generation. the tissue on the clearmountain's NS10 tweeter is the 1st generation which is really harsh on the highs.

Mono Auratone -> NS10m Studio -> ATC SCM50ASL . In a studio designed and built from the ground up by a studio designer. No complaints!

Hi Andrew. I upgraded from Adam AX5 to Neumann KH 120 a few years ago, and now my mixes translate well everywhere. I made the switch after quite a bit of research, including a review from one well known tester who does not only listening tests but also electronic burst measurements, and he found the Neumanns to be the most accurate speakers he had ever measured. I listen at varying levels, but I find the Neumanns to be most accurate at a pretty healthy level. I agree with you, they might fool you if you listen softly, but cranked up a bit, they reveal quite amazing detail and imaging. I also have the Neumann sub, which is barely on, but lets me know what kind of air is moving in the lowest octave. Thank you for all your great videos and impressive detailed knowledge.

Actually one of the strengths of the ns10 is the fact that is not ported, and doesn’t have those low/low mids resonances that color the mix. That’s one of the reasons why it doesn’t have low end extension, like the one that you would find in most ported designs.

Everyone makes a big deal over these for monitoring yet they are just ordinary bookshelf speakers. I had a pair just for my stereo they were actually quite rubbish, very nasaly in tone not great to listen to

not gonna lie, i ALWAYS check my mixes on the speaker of my s9, because the punch of the kick and clarity of the bassline is crucial - and it tells you SO Much that your monitors will never do. and dont get me started on mid side- so definitely make sure to check ur mixes on a phone =)

I think ns 10 delivers the best quality mixes if u know how to use them, In my experience, if u get it right in a pair of ns10 your mix will sound great in any other monitors

Anyone else noticed everybody seems to have the wrong set of NS10’s for their space? E.g. those with space for vertical position always have 2nd gen model that are supposed to horizontal; whereas those with space for horizontal positioned speakers always have the 1st gen ones that are supposed to be vertical lol. Same here too: hardly any clearance so my speakers need to be horizontal, of course I have the 1st gen ones.

Plugins can't emulate monitors. Only frequency curve which is absolutely not enough to represent some monitor.

When you listen to loud music though any speaker, it sounds better because your ears are naturally compressing the sound. When you listen at a lower volume you can hear more detail in the sound because it's not being compressed by your ears. That's why I think it's always better to mix at a lower volume. Plus, your ears won't fatigue as quickly.

NS10 is monitors. I don't think Traktor would require a very Traktor-related monitors. btw Important video on SSL Filters PROBLEM !!! It will change how you understand frequencies of the low end. Nice video but fletcher munson says the opposite, if you listen to a linear signal at low level you hear more mids, cause like you said correctly human ear has better resolution in mid range, that's why my home theater system has a build in loudness correction that I hear relatively all frequencys equally on all levels and to reach that bass and heights where made not that much lower than mids if I turn volume down

профи уровня Андрей Зелено могут свести трек, используя "заводские" плагины, идущие в комплекте с любой DAW, в наушниках за сто баксов и никто не заметит разницы. собственно, к этому и надо стремиться (не полагаясь на некие "волшебные" плагины iZotop или какие-то ни было ещё, которые хоть так, хоть так не сделают работу за тебя).

anyway he makes his mixing on Barefoot monitors and uses NS-10 as a shit control mainly

Double check this. It's far from what he really uses. You may mix up him with Tom Lord-Alge. Secondly, you will not find pictures with him and barefoot. Maybe a couple of pictures and they are not from his studio. Those are from the Mix with the Masters session. He was trying to promote them but said they don't show problems of a mix and put them in a room for guests just to listen to music.

Andrew Zeleno у нас так много не грамотных ребят которые хотят узнавать что то новое я думаю в этом есть смысл доп заработок и просмотры , для рекламы раскидать по публикам музбизнеса и тд тп и народ пойдёт
