Let's explore why the current through a pure inductor lags the voltage by 90 degrees.

Highly appreciate the effort that went into animating this stuff, the excellence in teaching the concept to make it crystal clear, the humor which makes this all interesting. This channel truly deserves more attention.

Without any doubt we can say that Mahesh Shenoy is the best K12 teacher in India. Your content is way better than any RU-vid channel handling the K12 content.

The analogy is brilliant but it doesn't help in uderstanding why, for me at least. But it sure helps to remember that it works that way

dude as the current changes[increases] emf is induced in the inductor which does not allow current to immediately pick up with the voltage,it oppossses that change.When voltage is zero that would be the maximum current,it is like giving an decreasing acceleration to a body on friction less surface[since resistance is zero] and then changing the direction of acceleration[decelarating it] and at half cyle of voltage it becomes zero since it has gained that amount current in that half cycle of voltage.hope u understand .

We can also use the analogy of simple pendulum where, voltage as displacement and current as velocity of pendulum At mean position displacement is zero anf and velocity is maximum

@ 6:52 For me, the intuition is in the equation V = L . di/dt. It simply says that the voltage is high(est) when the slope along the current-curve is big(gest).

That’s a wonderful analogy with the plank and the box! And it may even hold at high frequencies, since it would seem, the box would be “bouncing “ up and down more than moving laterally along the plank and thus signifying very little current due to the greater inductive reactance.

here my analogy to this question notice that the current is higher when change in voltage is higher, this can be explained as follow since inductors hate change in current the the inductors will introduce high EMF when there is high change in voltage and this is why we toke derivative in the derivation of current

Why the quantity of current shown more than voltage in the Graf? Normally valu of current less than voltage, please explain
@pranilshoots9523
@pranilshoots9523 Год назад
The magnitude of the voltage and current are taken are arbitrary (random). Its just to show the difference in voltage and current. Technically we are not comparing the magnitude of the voltage and current5 but just the phase.

With full hope of finding an answer to my doubt, I opened khans video, but i really get disappointed. My question is, how can an inductor attain negative maximum current as shown in the graph at the begining even before voltage starts increasing from zero value at t is zero? Nowhere in video this point is touched.
