I think there is a bit of irony here since David didn’t think his father was ever proud of him yet he didn’t even leave his daughter a piece of memorabilia or anything. His daughter seemed to crave his attention the same way he craved his father’s attention. It’s really sad. Not saying he didn’t love her but he was obvious who his favorite kid was. Still RIP
I liked The Partridge family. I saw a documentary. He wasn’t doing well at the time.that’s sad , he didn’t leave her anything. It wasn’t much but it’s the thought that’s important.
Everyone breath in. Now breath out. Feel better? I thought so. David had a small estate at least what I read in the press so unfortunately there wasn’t a lot to pass on. David took the banner of teen idol to extreme levels. I mean he was hugely successful but his personal troubles stopped him from savoring his achievements. His brother Sean had better grasp of success and enjoyed it much more. I loved the Partridge Family and loved David’s hits with the show. RIP
It was a personal decision, likely based on their lack of a sustained relationship. I'm glad David made peace with himself as his life was coming to an end, admitting that he had fibbed about giving up alcohol. He actually had been drunk onstage, and he came to terms with it and admitted it before he passed on. That took courage. Rest in peace.
She wasn't really in his life until the last year or so in the end. He had his son that was always close to him. That's the way it goes. His money and his decision. Plus it was only $150,000. I'm sure he had leftover debit and funeral expenses. Doubt much was left. I loved David, Cassidy and I really still enjoy seeing the Partridge family on television. ❤
Thank you for sharing the stuff about David Cassidy the good and the bad nobody’s perfect everybody has good and bad in their family so I like to hear everything about David Cassidy if you have any more stuff in the future please send it thank you.
Nice the family reunited and she had a relationship with him before he died, and at his side when he did. Shows she cares more about that than the money! She probably has more money than he had anyway.
🤔 Simple, when they want to freeload off him !.In any case Cassidy was almost broke when he died. Had he lived a little longer, he would have ended up on the street, living off welfare payments ! 😢
None should be judged for family issues. Outsiders didn't live with them. Having issues with my own adult child, a Counselor said to me that our children come through us, but they are not a clone of us just because we share DNA. They have their own thoughts, views of the world as they grow. Not all families will be close for many reasons. Clashing personalities. It's a hard pill to swallow but it happens, and no outsider should question or judge the decisions in question. Like an old Indian proverb, "Walk a Mile in my Moccasins". Love you David. I completely understand the hard decision you made.
@@PrettyMamaPatchwork I have had troubles with my oldest daughter, as well as many fights and misunderstandings. There are a lot of things about her I don't understand or like, But I still keep trying; I still keep myself available to her, and when I leave this earth, although the lion's share goes to her younger sister,( she's unmarried with no children) she still will get something. I won't leave her out cold; there will be gifts ... pictures... and some family heirlooms; if I have money and can spare it, I'll leave her some of that too; she is still my child despite the personality conflicts, and I still love her. A parent still has some responsibility to their children. If u let David off the hook, then be fair and let his dad Jack off the hook too; after all, Jack had three other sons to attend to BTw. I'm no fan of Jack and am a fan of DC, But let us be fair and consistent.
Thats so sad that david didn't even recognize his own daughter it don't matter if he raised her or not SHE IS STILL HIS BIOLOGICAL DAUGJTER His blood runs through her veins. I was so surprised he left her out & done her wrong. very sad story.
Hey, the bottom line is that it was up to him. What he wanted to do. Its sad he had this cold relationship with his daughter but it looks like she too wasn’t that interested until the very end when he died. Usually people will put someone in their will that they cared about and that the person also cared back. Showed that in some way. It’s that connection that they are looking for.
Sad he didn't establish a loving relationship with his daughter. Katie is an actress so maybe he felt she was well off. David should of left her something. To cold.
@@SuperAnimelover100 David didn't feel like a real father to her because she was raised by her mother and stepfather. David didn't have that much money left before he died. He had filed for bankruptcy several times. At least, he acknowledged his daughter unlike Johnny Carson's son.
@@GeminiladyJackson-xq6hc, He doesn't have to leave her money. How about some photos? How about some trinkets he may still have had from his hotshot days? Maybe a stick of furniture that she could have treasured?
While it is easy to pass harsh judgement against David Cassidy over his decision to cut his daughter of of his will, there are two sides of the issue. For starters, she was closer to her stepfather than she was to David. Maybe she said things to him that she shouldn’t had said which hurt him deeply. It’s nice that she made peace with him before he passed away. But was it really sincere? Or was it an attempt to get some of his estate? We’ll never really know the full story. 😢
I have a daughter i have had a rough time with and shes almost 40.She has said very painful things to me; I have been DEEPLY hurt by her. Im closer to my two younger daughters. But I still love this daughter despite the clashes and feeling neglected by her., Although my middle daughter, because she's unmarried with no kids, will get the house and most of everything else.. my firstborn will still get something; I have albums... and some family treasures that she will inherit. Even some land, although she will be sharing it with her half-siblings from her dada's first marriage. The point is that although things have been frayed and rough, I will not leave this world without a token of love and care. She gets something, and that is the RIGHT thing to do, IM am sorry, but not giving his daughter something seems cold and cruel, I don't understand it, and even though I have been a fan of DC, I cant and do not respect this.!,
Divorce settlements, tv and record companies who did not pay David as they should have and supporting children cost money. David had a father Jack who suffered from alcoholism and died as a result of a fire caused by careless smoking and intoxication in his home. David was very close to his mother who died of alzheimer's and was a beautiful and talented woman. I think David did his best to keep his business afloat but he was preloaded with genetics of the worst kind when it comes to alcoholism and it got the best of him and his own family suffered as a result. David did his best. He worked hard and going over who he left money to in his estate will not lead to understanding and it is a family matter.
He should of left her something. I believe I might be a distant relative. He's mom was a Ward that goes back to Newark. The founders of Newark. The ward family is my family. I loved the partridge family. Yes he was special
No I’m number one I already heard about it no wasn’t surprising because they didn’t have a close relationship like he said he didn’t razor though I think he might’ve changed it when they got closer if he hadn’t died at the time time
Please, he knew he was dying. I'm sure he gave all of his money to family ahead of time except that hundred thousand just to make it look like there was a little left (which if true would've been quite a good thing).
She didn't need the money, she worked hard, Broadway. She did not depend on his money, he depended on her! c when he was on The Apprentice, HR kept calling het and she was working, begging for a donation for Trump's pizza con. She showed up.
I heard you should enjoy all your money that you worked hard for... and be sure the last check you write, bounces. I've spoken to some young people who refuse to work...saying that they're waiting to inhert from parents. I was shocked, but hoped the parents spend their money and leave any remaining money to worthy charities.
Susan Dey and Shirley Jones were David Cassidy's TV family, not his real family. A lot of people can't tell the difference between fantasy and reality and you are one of them.
@@GeminiladyJackson-xq6hc , one never knows on these channels. Of course Shirley was married to David's dad Jack for 19 years, but if that was enough to leave her anything, we'll never know. The rumors of Hollywood had it that David was "Sweeping crumbs up off the floor" prior to his death, but just like Tim's narration here, it's mostly conjecture, minus the dramatics.
