This is the reason why I have the hardest time recognizing his voice in songs. He's so versatile, he can easily sound like one person in a song, then a completely different person in another.

when he got eliminated in round2 at the king of masked singer program, I was totally disappointed, if only they knew how versatile n talented he is, surely they will regret their decision.they should have listened to him more.

I know three Kpop vocalists who’s completely in control and always sounds like it. Doesn’t sing safe, but you never doubt that they’re gonna hit whatever they try to hit. That’s Young K, Kyuhyun and Jonghyun. There are other vocalists who might sound more “interesting” or keep you on the edge of your seat, but sometimes you just really want to appreciate the clear, total control perfection.

I feel like this video is actually very timely because I've recently been suuuuper falling in love with Young K's vocals When I was only first getting into Day6 and still trying to get a feel for everyone's voices and how to recognize them and such, I felt like Brian's voice was the hardest for me to recognize cause everyone else has such distinct singing voices. But I think your point about versatility is really important and that might be why it took me the longest to recognize his voice.

i comeback to here everytime i feel i should appreciate Young K’s vocals. if someone ask me who the best korean singer out there, i’ll definitely saying his name. his range are wide and i can’t even tell how he manage his voices like that AND SINGING IT LIKE WHAT HE WANT. i mean, for someone who’s blind about vocals, they will still know how good his skills is. he comes with different colors also tone, and he killed it. it’s sometimes (not sometimes, maybe, 24/7) make me goosebump and it’s too mindblowing everytime i heard his part or analyzing his voices as a person who not really understand vocals. even, my mom give a thumbs up for him when i showing her the “she’s gone” cover. the fact, HE HIT THAT HIGH NOTE SMOOTHLY. just tell you everything why i titled him as king of vocals.

I am a 3 month old MyDay and I must agree with you that I was super intrigued when I realised that Young K’s voice was everywhere in Day6’s background vocals! Also, the way he effortlessly harmonizes with the other members (or sing the Ooos and ahhhs) when performing live got me crazy. He has a lot of patience, a good ear, and control over his voice indeed. He is a testament of someone who truly loves and appreciates good-sounding music! Love his entire lower, mid and high register...lol, basically his entire voice :) He got me interested to find out more about Day6, especially the bass lines that he plays in all their songs - they’re so tuneful and tasteful arghhh. Thanks for this wonderful video!
