You have a fundamental misunderstaning of what is happening. Publicly traded companies are not chasing consumer money, they are chasing investor money. So while many gamers are none too happy investment firms like Blackrock and Vanguard want to invest in projects that push DEI which they have openly stated. That is why for example Disney will put out film after film that loses money.

There absolutely is forced diversity in video games, companies want to sell their games to as many people as possible so they add diverse characters to their games. These companies aren't doing so because they are "allies" they do it appeal to more people to sell more copies.

Language evolves and definitions change over time, you can be mad about it but it wont stop the evolution of the language and the meaning of terms. Common usage can and does often change and what eventually happens is the dictionary alters the definition of the word to reflect common usage. For example see the word literally in the dictionary.
