You could check with local museums if they'd be interested in scanning them in for the benefit of the public, in case they don't have a copy already. That stuff might be interesting to a few historians and it'd be neat to have that knowledge preserved for everyone. That and with letting them scan them in you still get to keep them for yourself while potentially helping others.

We all live in the past. When you look in the mirror you are not seeing you of right now but you from .00000001 seconds in the past.
