Been doing diamond parts for over 16 years and my clients hair grow well.

Omg thank u.. I needed *that* because I want to get exactly those diamonds parts (I opened my previous locs -of 4 years- a week ago) and this video just discourage me in a certain way

If you want to or can get them done I hope you do. I made this video explaining why some locticians don’t suggest it as mine didn’t at the beginning. I also wondered “why not” and found another reputable locticians reasoning and it made sense how she explained it. Obv if you want to, do it. 🙌🏾

This makes me feel a bit better. My locs were started with Diamond parts about a year ago by my former loctician and she did not warn about the issue of thinning. I’ve heard about it a few times now. I was thinking about starting over but I’m going to take the chance and hang in there and pray they stay healthy and full.

I am glad I saw your comment. I have had diamond parts for 2 years. I love them, and will be trying to self maintain starting this week being the first time I retwist my whole head. I am nervous but excited to save $ and learn to do my hair myself.

So this explanation should hold true for brick parting and even c parting… both of those have points and would/should make your hair weak at the pints. I think it boils down to preference and technique. Everyone doesn’t have the same perfectionism attitude when it comes to parting methods…. Especially diamond parts so I think giving an explanation of it weakening the hair gives an out to not do them for the client.

Well, again “MAY not be”…I’m offering the explanation I’ve seen as to why some locticians have said they don’t. Some it could be sheer laziness, others have offered various reasons that make sense to them and to me in the way it was explained. If anyone can find a loctician that’s comfortable and confident in their skill for different parting then I encourage them to try them. I definitely didn’t post this to offend anyone or have it be a point of contention.

What about triangles parts?

I don’t know enough about those to be able to give an opinion..there might be a difference but then again there might not be since they are both coming to a point. I was told by my loctician the classic boxes are best. But I’ve seen peoples locs thrive with any shape provided good upkeep and maintenance. I posted this mostly to explain what my loctician meant cuz I was like “how sway” lol it helped me to better understand

What do you think of organic parting?
@everythinglynn
@everythinglynn 10 месяцев назад
I’m kinda indifferent to them..I’m sure they serve their purpose to whoever wears them..I don’t see them often. Do you have locs started in that way?

@@everythinglynn Sure. Yes I started my locs with an organic parting system and I liked the way they turned out. I'm only 8 months into my loc journey.

What does it mean to have them organically parted btw because now that I’m reading I think I tend to confuse that with free form..does it just mean you didn’t really care if the parts were exactly straight or identical?
@Penelope416

@@everythinglynn Correct. I wasn't very specific with my parting. My goal was to get the majority of my locs around the same size. I just grabbed a little bit of hair at a time, and put it in a two-strand twist. Grabbed more hair and repeated that step. Grab and twist basically.

Oh, yeah ok for sure! I think I definitely would’ve just gone that route if I never wound up finding a loctician..my sister started hers like that a year ago and hers look just fine😊 I just had no confidence in my parting for the back of my head lol
