Other sources say The Greeks gave the word India to the people living here because it was not a united subcontinent but a divided one until Muslims united it. The word was taken from which is taken from Indus Valley Civilization. It is the history of South Asia in general. And Mehrgarh Civilization even predates that. There was no Hindusim during Mehrgarh. The Indus Valley civilisation was the birthplace of western civilisation (IVC). The bricks used to build Mesopotamia were of the exact same size as the bricks used to build the IVC. When the bricks were tested it was found they were from the soil of southern Pakistans Sindh province. Four thousand year old Cotton clothing has recently been excavated in Palestine which when tested was again found to be from Sindh, Pakistan. Western civilisation then spread to Mesopotamia and both the IVC and Mesopotamia were the homes of western civilisation with both an economic and cultural exchange between the two. After the decline of the IVC began the rise of ancient Egypt on the banks of the Nile. Western civilisation then moved to ancient Egypt before the invasion of the Greeks. The Greeks then became assimilated in this civilisation and the civilisation was held by the Greeks and the Egyptians. The Romans then took charge of the Greek and Egyptian civilisations and the knowledge of the ancient civilisations was stored in the museum of Alexandria, Egypt. The Persians who at the time were in competition with the Romans wanted their own university. They built the academy of Gondishapur which primarily held the knowledge of the people of the Indus Valley (Pakistan) and the Chinese civilisation. When the Romans converted to Christianity they saw these places of knowledge as paganism and blasphemy against God so they called for their destruction. Luckily some Romans escaped with large amounts of material gathered over the centuries from the present and past civilisations and escaped to Persia. The Persians were delighted and placed these books in the Academy of Gondishapur. During this time the Romans wiped out all the books from the western civilisation (Greek/Egypt/Mesopotamia/Indus). After the rise of Islam and the Muslim conquest of Byzantium and Persia the Muslims entered the Academy of Gondishapur and translated all the works into Arabic. Western civilisation then advanced under Islam. During this time Europe was going through its dark ages. When the Europeans conquered Al-Andalus (Spain) from the Muslims they found around a million Arabic books which were ordered to be burnt. A copy of each book was luckily preserved by some people of knowledge and hid in secret underground libraries under monasteries. Western civilisation then rose again in Italy and spread to north-west Europe. Western civilisation did not begin in Greek or Europe, it began in the Indus Valley before spreading to Mesopotamia, Egypt and then to Greece. Dr Roy Casagranda an American political scientist and professor of history has stated the borders of western civilisation and the various eastern oriental civilisations is the Indus Valley (Pakistan). This Valley is where this great civilisation, which has passed through many hands began and it’s a disservice to the world that we know so little of this land.

They didn't disappear. They just migrated further East and South into India, away from the Sindhu River Valley where natural disasters struck. The civilization didn't end. It was Indian or Bharatiya Civilization and it still survives today.

Of course there's another common sense reason on top. As harvest decreased there likely also was an elite that took most for itself and left (too) little for the poor. Fed up, the underclasses moved out (easy in that time), much like now Russians leave Putin country, or refugees for East Africa seek safety and possibilities elsewhere. They also fled to mountains which are easier to defend against angry tyrants having to get at you uphill. :)

Most of it's sites are along Saraswati river system which is now extinct. Southern most site is in daimabad, Maharashtra, where a chariot replica was found in excavation.

I like how Hindoo extremists are butthurt when this channel implied IVC is a Pakistani civilisation (which indeed is the case. The two most famous sites of IVC, indeed it's very representatives, are Pakistani cities). One can easily understand the identity crisis that many Hindus suffer by watching them equate modern India with British India or Mughal Empire. One guy even tried to justify this ridiculous equivalence by commenting "If India came into existence in 47 how was there EIC named after India". That's because India in "EIC" refers to A REGION while India today refers to a country born in 47. If Pakistanis claims Indus valley civilization as there's, then it is the most fortunate thing for all Indians. Because most population of Pakistan considers themselves as desendents of Arabs and do not accept the fact that they were actually converted by invaders. If they accepted this fact it will be the end of war between two nations, and probably India will be united(as before 1947). Muslims do not consider themselves ethnically belonging this place, and this was the sole purpose of partition.

Pl. right from the beginning understand this great highly cultured civilisation didn’t or could not perish or vanish. It migrated towards more favourable places and continued. Whenever their main trading was disturbed due to various reasons, they migrated. Ages have changed. But the descendants of the most highly cultured Indus people are living in their original home Tamilnadu.
