Why Did Ancient Sith Lords HATE Palpatine and Darth Vader? 

I like how whenever the sith disapprove of something it’s usually cause they just think it’s lame

I do love the idea that the force ghosts of Sith also follow around living Sith like the Jedi ghosts do, but they do it exclusively to talk shit about them until the Sith dies and joins the gossip club.

The Sith Empire of Old was a Military and Hierarchy regime, where the strong dominated, enslaved and eliminated the weak and useless with borderline extreme prejudice. Of course the ancient Sith would disapprove and despise Vader and Palpatine's means and methods of ruling the known galaxy with ways that are similar to that of the Republic with government and bureaucracy. The Pure Blood Sith before the Dark Exile were a society where only the strong survived since their world was a harsh and rough place to live and call home and had no desire for galactic conquest. But when the Dark Jedi arrived, interbreed with the Sith, became worshipped as Gods and changed their society and culture as a whole, it gave birth to the Old Sith Empire we all loath and despise.

That's why Darth Viciates time was the best for the Sith, The Old Republic was filled with millions of Force sensitives on both sides of the force led by proud leaders who weren't afraid of meeting their enemies in open battle. The Rule Of Two was a stupid gamble that failed hard.

Wait until momin finds out Vader was one of the most famous Jedi of his time. His criticism isn’t wrong. Since both Tyranus and Vader were ex Jedi, the Sith essentially spent their last 30 to 40 years of existence made up of failed Jedi that were embittered with the order, rather than genuine Sith adherents. Is it any wonder then, that Sidious’s apprentices were focused on expert level lightsaber combat, the state of the republic, and doing as much damage to the other side as possible, rather than building up the Sith order? Sidious is the most guilty for enabling this because he didn’t want the Sith to grow anymore, he wanted it to culminate and terminate with him. He had more apprentices than any previous Sith (3 as opposed to the usual 1 and occasional 2 if the first failed) yet none of them succeeded in fulfilling the rule of 2 and continuing the Sith lineage. It’s all because Sidious himself was too selfish, even for a Sith. All previous Sith acknowledged that they were merely mortal, and that they needed apprentices to continue their work after their death, otherwise there was no point to any of it. Sidious had no such consideration. He was content to destroy the Jedi and have the empire croak at the same time that he did.

Seriously, if you fail one way in trying to conquer a galaxy (which the Sith have in the past) then it time to try something different. And that's what Palpatine did

Palpatine was undoubtedly the most successful Sith of all time. The arguement that he "became like the Republic" is flawed and (imo) egoistic. Palpatine infiltrated the Republic from the inside, corrupted it and took over, while every other Sith tried defeating it with violence and failed. And even if a Sith did succeed through violence, due to the galactic scale bloodshed there would be no galaxy to govern anymore. As for Vader, his hatred towards the Jedi is entirely justified. He was incapable of reaching his full potential because of them. However, Vader was never even meant to be a Sith, even less a successful one. Arguing over him being an unsuccessful Sith is the same as arguing over an airplane being unsuccessful in driving alongside cars in the same roads. Long story short, ancient Sith were just salty af.

ANCIENT. that means past. How could ancient sith lords know anythinng about palpatine or vader when they wouldnt be born for at least 1000 more years.

The galaxy literally knew the sith were the bad guys at this point. Having it be known they were sith would’ve just ended their reign way sooner then later

A lot of the people seem to be missing a point: The ancient sith were essentially the proud warrior culture trope and thus they thought Palpatine’s way of conquering the galaxy was lame and for doodoo baby cowards

Palps def felt more like the guy who has Sith allegiance but has his own goals and actually, in a messed up way, wants to have a peaceful and ordered galaxy vs just a play house of a galexy

I like how at the base of the philosophies the sith just think it’s cowardly to just work from the shadows and strike at the right moment even though there are sith assassins, while the Jedi think following one emotions can lead one to the dark side but it’s ok the bone whenever or whoever so long as you don’t marry

What if the Jedi fell because they became arrogant. Making them closer to being like Sith. Probably why it was so easy for Palpatine to mine Jedi to his side or just turn them dark during the clone wars.

I wouldn't call them successful. They're just famous due to being primary film villains. Sidious just inherited their plan from Baneites and his master. He didn't topple the republic so much as it changed itself. He ruled politically for a couple of decades, while Vader was a glorified foot officer. Sidious basically only succeeded in getting the clones to turn on the Jedi, which again, wasn't his plan and he was not responsible for it. He also was more concerned with political power than power in the force, which he could have had if he had allowed his master time to finalize his own research into immortality. He ended up needing that incomplete power and resorted to older alchemy techniques, which again, he did not invent. In galactic terms, both were chumps.

Well Sidious did it the best tbh. He knew that every time the sith tried to take over the galaxy the Jedi would stop them/try to. So he had to take them out first. And he literally let them do it themselves. Afterwards it was a cake walk to enslave races like the wookies cuz no one was there to protect them.

It’s funny because the ancient sigh during the sith empire era focused on the Jedi almost always so it’s funny how these sith say they shouldn’t have done that.

It just shows how great Palpatine was as a Sith Lord, he was savy enough to realize how the old ways couldn't survive in the modern time, where a mostly united republic allied with the Jedi could crush Sith who just rellied in brute strenghting their way to conquest. So he found a way of conquering and opressing the galaxy that's way more subtle. That's how one spreads hate to a united world, with subtle acts of manipulation disguised as acts of "necessary evil".

Most phenomal thing in Momin's statement is the hypocrisy of it. Yes, they had larger empires who existed long, but difference is they were never accepted, nor respected, and most of them were always in constant war, none of them gave public respect as Palpatine's. Also, a small yet very important detail. Ancient Sith's ruled by conquering, destroying and slashing any argument with their Crimson Lightsabers, thinking that's the true way of being Dark side. However, it greatly contrasts with what we saw in Clone wars. The embodiment of sith and true dark side, the Son was not that kind of warrior. He was manipulative, resourceful and mysterious, showing his true power at the perfect moment. It seems that The Rule of Two period sith were much closer to true Dark Side than Ancient Sith

I can see where Darth Momin is coming from. The core of Sith doctrine comes down to making yourself undeniably strong and to break your chains to set yourself free. It is not unreasonable for the Sith of old to view what Palpatine and Vader did, especially in concealing their more Sith natures from the public, as a form of weakness and chaining yourself

Vader definitely did not hide the fact that he was a Sith from anybody. Everyone knew what he was and how powerful he was, that’s why nobody really opposed him
