@@bfg3890 but im qualified mate. First year of coaching got a side from 3 wins all year to gf nxt year...tbh i couldnt do worse than the last 4 coaches 😂😂😂
Ciraldo has no balls. Either take a job or put out a press release saying you'll 'field no more offers' . He legit thinks he's gonna get the Storm or Roosters gig eventually lol
Flanagan used to play for Wests so he has that connection to the club. Ciraldo knows the Panthers, in german there is a saying 'Know what you're good at and just stick to it'. Noddy has that element of Potter, Barrett, Brown where it is a case of ignorance is bliss .. if you ask these guys, that works until it doesn't. The newer coaches really struggle with being able to fully connect with the playing group, they get impatient and start distancing themselves from results. You'll find Bellamy might slate the players once a season because he knows you're flogging a dead horse if you keep doing it.
Ciraldo's probably been given the word from Ivan Cleary that the Tigers boardroom is toxic so don't even go there! Always someone to blame from players to coaches but the Tigers board takes no accountability whatsoever, funny that.
The clubs deserve it for churning through coaches without giving them any chance to turn the club around. The boards are at fault and they never own their mistakes.
This has been going on for almost 20yrs. What's truly amazing is your only just getting it. The game has changed yet their operation and Management style has stayed the same. Those clubs without a coach are clubs that have been run by people that have no business in running a club. They do not have the ability to see what it takes for the long term future of the club. It's no secret that clubs that are the top have invested heavily on development, grassroots and culture. Those struggling at the bottom have little to no development so they are forced to buy what is on the market and what they can afford. They have done that for years. The talent pool they thought they had is not ready or just isn't there. Right now if you are a player or coach you would be out of your mind to sign with the Warriors or the Tigers. No prospect of winning a championship, those that do sign are the one's that have no option or have that as an option in their contract, because no other club wants them. Nothing short of clearing out management and bringing in someone with a long term goal and a strong development, grassroots and cultural mindset. You only have to look at the top teams and see the number of players that have played together at development level and are playing now to see the benefits of investing in development. A spine that has been together that long is a massive advantage. Not having to spend money buying players and coaches and reinvesting in development and grassroots only further increases your chances of producing players that can win championships, as opposed to buying the dregs that no one wants, to rebuild a dying club. Those people that are in charge of picking the board need to understand that a championship club today starts from development, grassroots and a strong culture. It's everything, without it, the game dies. The Mastermind was Wayne Bennett . Every top coach and club has taken and or worked under Wayne and have in place those very systems. There is a reason the All Blacks chose this system and the reason why Canterbury are still winning championships. This should be a warning to the NRL. If they don't start pushing really hard promotion and development at grassroots this game will eventually die out. What's happening that no one is talking about is the young talent that is being crushed by being thrown in to hype that they may save the club. The very worst of this is happening at the Warriors.
Ponga could have been (and could still be) a superstar, he is a good player with a lot of potential....But has been ruined by all the pressure that's on him at Newcastle, look at Papenhuyzen and Hynes, those 2 have been molded properly and are now going absolutely amazing.
Well said mate, lots of truth & facts in your post, proof is in the history, AB’s & Cantabs have structure & huge development pathways, people want to play with them & stay there longterm
The Crusaders are still winning comps because it's the only region in NZ, and perhaps the world, that people still care about Rugby. Participation levels for Union in New Zealand are declining nationally and sports like basketball are having huge increases year on year at a grassroots level. Add that to poor participation numbers in Australia, where the private schools that used to supply Wallaby talent are now replacing union goal posts with AFL posts, and you'll find that it's probably Union in this area of the world that is under threat. The Warriors have just spent nearly 1000 days on the road to prop up the NRL broadcast deal. They've done extremely well to remain as competitive as they have during the covid period.
Well look at what Graig Fitzgibbon he took over a sqaud that John Morris built apart from a couple of players, he waited for the right club. Cronulla were in a tricky spot before John Morris took over yet he debut so many players so why would the tigers not go with John Morris. If he got a lot of young players through why not go with him
Why not bring back brett hodgson from the UK? he's a tigers man, will work well with sheens and is magpies junior who can help with junior pathways in the south west.
Yeh he can teach the players how to get rag dolled over the sideline or how to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory by throwing a stray pass, helping the opposition create a dynasty.
Give Steve georgallis a go ! He played for the magpies an wests tigers ! More then 200 first grade games playing experience ! Not to mention Has been an interim coach at two clubs an always gets his team to compete competetively ! + he’s done a long apprenticeship from 2005 An he’s now one of the cowboys coaches an look at how they’re going !
Ciraldo got cold feet for good reason he probably thought about how good his ego would feel if it worked out after so many have failed. But in the end he probably realised it would lead him on the road to nowhere
The problem is that in Australia the press and media build up reputations of coaches and players. They make them bigger than what they are. They give Barrett plenty opportunity and they will do the same with Ciraldo.
Flanagan has to be the best option. People like Lodge, Packer etc have done worse crimes and been allowed back in the game. He has served his time on the sideline. Time for a 2nd chance. Max 3yr contract.
Its a mess and they have only made it harder. Ciraldo was never going to sign and the Management at the Wests Tigers have no idea. With that said most of the players have shown very little commitment to the Club or their personal performance. It's an embarrassment.
Maybe the NRL needs a draft system to happen... if coaches knocking back bottom ladder clubs. As for the Warriors 20' tournament was a big draw card for future nrl players and the club was very successful as well... Can't always blame the coach, look at Maguire had success with the Kiwis.
These flags keep.mentioning Woolf as a rookie coach, uhh he has won titles in England and over seen the rise of Tonga at international level. At NRL sure but one of there earlier points was these rookies haven't proven themselves as head coaches elsewhere and have just been assistants. Woolf has proven himself elsewhere.
Ffs, are you kidding me NRL 360, another segment on the West Tigers!? Ciraldo is naive, amateur assistant coach. Does he really think that top sides will want to sign him up if he remains an assistant coach with a lack of proper experience and no credentials. Imagine if he did go to WT and turned the club around into a top 8 side. That would look great on his resume. Only then would top clubs be interested in his signature. A missed opportunity on his behalf. Give it a rest fellas, you’re beating a dead horse.
EVERYBODY ABOVE TIM SHEENS AT THE TIGERS NEED 2 LEAVE STRAIGHT AWAY AND REBUILD THE WHOLE CEO AND ADMIN DEPT AT TIGERS AND IT WILL FEED THROUGH TO A BETTER SEASON..... START AT THE TOP, JUSTIN PASCOE PISS OFF
