What people fail to realize about this is this: pigs, the filthiest animals, would rather drown than be possessed by an unclean spirit, and yet we who are made in God's image, fearlessly welcome entry to places and things unclean spirits dwell. No...I think it's more of a failure of realization of your part. You're going under the assumption that the PIGS decided to do anything at all. Which is likely false. Incredible story, the fact that demons desire any form of physicality over anything else is so telling. It is my belief that we are surrounded by the possessed and may never even know it.
We are constantly fighting against the "powers" of deception and the "principalities" of the air (Ephesians 6,12)... the powers try to seduce us by whispering complements and praises in our ears, filling our minds with prideful thoughts, while the lower-ranked principalities who merely cause havoc hurl hateful insults at us as they fly past overhead. I’ve been born again as of Nov. 2018. I always believed in God and became a lukewarm Christian over time. I did shrooms, drank, but mostly smoked pot everyday. I look back and can’t believe how patient Jesus has been waiting for me (I’m 40). I have been saved by an angel or Jesus (not sure at the time) at least twice, but possibly 3 times. A voice told me to let off the gas pedal when I was going through an intersection, as soon as I did, a truck blew a stop sign that would have killed me. I also fell asleep at the wheel another time and WOKE up while driving sitting upright and very much positioned like a robot. I ended up on the other side of town somehow! Fell into a pool’s deep end as a child, somehow my mother knew to check on me and pulled me out. I had another experience where I was praying about a relative that was brutally murdered and burned alive years prior. I was HIT like a sledgehammer with unexplainable peace and joy. Instantly tears poured out of my eyes and I had the breath sucked out of me, totally winded. It was like I was experiencing the joy of heaven but my human body could not handle it! I also experienced an interaction with several demons in the basement of a psychic lady’s house who summoned them and spoke to them nightly. The fear and anger I felt as their eyes pierced my soul was like nothing of this earth......,over and over and over Jesus was calling me!!! I was too much of a fool to notice, even though I believed in Him! In November of 2018, after a minor argument with my fiancée, I heard a demon’s voice talk to me telepathically in my mind- “I hate you, I’ll kill you and tear your family apart.” With the most conviction in my soul I commanded that thing to leave my house in the name of Jesus Christ. Every room in the house I yelled at it. I felt our Lord blast through my house and beat those things down! Whoosh gone! I prayed and thanked him and repented for allowing them to get close to me. He talked to me telepathically asking me questions and made me feel the guilt of my sins. Lots of information as a sort of psychic download into my heart and mind simultaneously. Question 1: “After all I’ve done for you, what have you done for Me, and others?” Question 2: “Am I NOT enough for you?” Then, the weight of my sins lifted, it was incredible. Since that moment, I’ve had no desire to drink, smoke, blaspheme, masterbate, be angry, stressed out or sin at all. Wanting to share love with no other possible explanation. I notice the tiniest signs he puts in my path....I see them right away and chuckle, seeing He really does work in mysterious ways. I fully understand how to have a relationship with him and not need to physically see or hear our relationship. He is incredible people! Let him into your heart! I had felt in my soul the the extremes of joy and sorrow through just some of my life experiences..... Feeling the presence of God and Satan deep inside through strange encounters. For that, I am blessed to KNOW Christianity is the truth, yet I STILL tried to not fully commit. He wants us all to repent and accept Him. He actually told me this! Hi there, The doctrine of 1 Being playing 3 parts (the Trinity doctrine) is unbiblical. 1 John 5:7 "there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one." This verse is one that I have come across that is used to back up the Trinity Doctrine just because it states 'they are one'. Oneness here means in agreement and not that it is 1 Being playing 3 parts, but rather 3 Beings playing their parts (3 GODS). Notice in the same verse it states these (3). Notice a conversation between the GODHEAD as per Genesis 1:26 King James Version 26 "..Let us make man in our image, after our likeness..." US is plural and not singular, and this was a conversation between them. Notice the same oness used to describe a married man and woman (who clearly are not 1 being, but 2 in agreement) Mark 10:7-8 “For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and cleave to his wife; (8) And they twain shall be one flesh: so then they are no more twain, but one flesh." When I was a youngling in college and high school, I was sucked into the cult of Atheism, which is essentially an anti-God cult. They pretend as though they don't believe in any gods, but spend 90% of their time bashing our Christian God, Jesus, etc. In those times, I felt no joy or inspiration. I was lost to Earthly desires and cravings of the flesh. My spirit, was dying and on life support. Then, a good Christian friend of mine made an effort. He convinced me to go to church with him. A couple of times. And although I didn't re-awaken yet, I felt the Holy Spirit in that church. And it started my skepticism of atheism. The profound feeling that overwhelms your body, and makes you literally feel the inspiration and love of Christ. For a long time afterwards, I was confused, and coping with that realization. I created a fantasy that God exists, but that He is probably nothing like we expect based on Christianity or any other interpretation. I thought that God was more of an observer with a passive role. About a year ago, I was finally awakened. I started really looking into God. Watching videos from pastors, and reading Bible passages, and I realized the profound truth of the Bible. It's wisdom and ability to convey the state of mind of societies, as well as the message of what it takes to be truly happy are the only path that has worked to ease the hardships of my life, and bring back my spirit. Anyone professing to be happy without God, to me, is a liar. I've lived that life, and I've seen people living those lives, and no matter how much they lie and profess that they are happy, content, and satisfied, I know they lie. There is a fear in them, a fear of death. A fear of losing the material. A fear of losing the earthly and the flesh. Tell me then, how can one be happy or have purpose when one fears the loss of earthly things? When one values their flesh and desires over their values and salvation?

I don't need to give Credence or even explanation to what you have displayed as your belief system but I would like to relate to those who are willing and wish to know the truth that is this which is presented to you in the form of mere human words; God is everywhere; in everything, in every existential and minut form which speaks to you and only you in every way. That voice in your head that tells you to go for something or not, that is God, that is the existential existence of the one infinite creator that is prominent throughout your life, always.

This is beautiful! Gracious and merciful Jesus leaves but forbids the man to go with him but to stay and TELL everyone what God has done for him. Even after they had failed to choose him over wealth, he gave them a chance to see his good works in the life of the saved man. This indeed is beautiful.
This was a town on the sea of Galilee. Jesus never spoke to anyone other than Jews and he never left the area around the Sea of Galilee. It wasn’t until after his death that Saul, a gentile, was given the Holy Spirit by the angel who stoped him on the road. He was told then to take the gospel to the gentiles. So these herders and the towns people were Jews. It was not against the law of the Jews to raise pigs and sell them to the gentiles. This was by all the evidence the towns industry. They were pig farmers and legion was a demon that was working with them in their business. The man or men they were possessing we’re terrifying anyone who ventured near the towns herd of pigs and so we can deduce that the town liked the situation as it stood. Now when Jesus saw what was happening he was most likely aware of the whole situation. When Legion came out of the man/men (the scary protector of the herd and toy of the demon) and went into the pigs and stampeded them into the sea off the cliff.... it was the demons revenge on Jesus...knowing the towns people would hate Jesus for causing the demon to come out of the man and destroying their industry along with all their product. The pigs all drowned in the sea of Galilee but legion would not die until it was his time at the end of the last days. Legion would simply go away looking for another Host. The possessed man/men would most likely be the only one(s) to appreciate what Jesus did for them. Thus the angry attitude of the town that forced Jesus to leave or else.
On top of everything mentioned in this video: The demons chose the pigs because they were intent on tormenting the people in that area. The demons caused the herd of pigs to be destroyed as a last ditch effort to bring harm to the people in that area. It was allowed because pigs are unclean animals, and from the perspective of Torah, which Jesus completely observed, they weren’t good for the people because it made them unclean, which separated them from God. The people begged Him to depart from them because they attributed what they perceived as their loss to the wrong source. They neglected to see the multiple blessings bestowed, and ultimately rejected the salvation that stood before them. This is a great lesson on how demons work. Even when they’re cast out, they will seek to destroy and deceive as they depart, often taking things that seem to be valuable with them as they go. The trial we face is whether or not we allow that which is lost to separate us from the source of our salvation, or do we chose to cling to Him despite our perceived loss.

As a newly, very young married man, I learned the Power of God's Word and this very passage when our family was demonically attacked one night. Earlier that day, without my knowledge, my wife was prepared to give her life to Christ but didn't. Later that night after we had gone to bed there was an evil, cold presence that entered our room that was not of this world. I began to read this very passage and the presence left. As soon as I closed the Bible and set it on the nightstand, the presence was back with even more displays. This time, we went to Romans 10 and after my wife professed her Faith in Christ, it left for good. The setting of that chapter of Isaiah is during Jesus' millennial rein, here on earth, after the Tribulation. Once I fully understood what Jesus is saying and doing in that chapter, well, I gave up eating bacon and ham... and shellfish... and catfish... and... well, you get the idea. My point is that having read Isaiah 66, I now understand why Jesus destroyed the pigs! That question has always been in the back of my mind. I get it now!
Also, the delivered demon possessed men begged Jesus to allow them to follow HIM on his ministry. How many times did Jesus beg others to follow Him yet here they beg Him to be able to follow Him. If the Son sets you free, you are free indeed, no more chains to keep you bound.
Yes. That is my own experience. That said, the day I asked Jesus into my heart everything changed. But it is a process of awakening to my own value as He sees me. This is a spot on analysis. Having recently re-read the Gospels, I was overwhelmed how throughout most of Jesus's ministry, just about everything he did had the explicit purpose of declaring his divinity. I hadn't considered specifically this passage from Matthew, but after hearing Pastor John's explanation, it concurs completely with my renewed understanding of Jesus's ministry.
Glory to God, thank you for your wisdom. I saw this when published but the Spirit said you need to watch but not yet. I've just been to visit an old congregation, they are all bejewelled and joined (loving family/spouses) I've been through the fire most of my life, not least these past few years. They rejoiced at seeing me, amazed I'm working and not on the floor, BUT the moment I speak Jesus and the signs of the times being all around us, the moment I quoted Titus 2:13 they couldn't get away from me fast enough... My heart cries, O God awaken those whom have known Your Name. I am so sad. I have righteous anger.
The deeper lesson here is what sin can do to the sinner. The demons sinned (probably soon after their creation) in a manner with a certain kind of terrible finality, separating themselves forever from God. As a result, not even the loving Jesus had the slightest pity for them. People should take this lesson to heart. Sin separates us from God. Who knows when that separation may become permanent? As Jesus said to a man whom He had healed, "...sin no more, lest something worse befall you." We must each of us stop knowingly committing sin, and instead work out our salvation in fear and trembling as St. Paul instructs us to do. When we each become perfect, perfect love will cast out fear. In the meantime, we should greatly fear to sin.

I think that most of us don’t appreciate what’s going on here. Jesus has just freed these two men of their demon possession and torment, and the community rejects him wanting him to leave. But realize that they had just lost one of their sources of food and income. Anger and rejection would have been a natural response. Yes , they did ignore the two healed individuals which should have been the centre of their attention to focus towards Christ. Now the question is would we have a better reaction if God takes away our resources? Makes me wonder, even about myself.
It’s about faith. It was a work of God Himself. Of Jesus. It’s all a part of His plan. Trusting Him. You can do all things in Christ who strengthens you. He who loves, obeys, and trusts the Lord, the Lord finds favor in Him and he shall be blessed according to His will. Similar situation when Jesus and Apostles were on the boat, with dangerous waters. And what did He say to them?
It was HUGE act of grace towards that community. For experiencing the loss of livelihood. Jesus calls all humans and when He does, He calls for complete surrender and trust in Him as your sole access to needed (sometimes wanted) resource ("give us this day, our daily bread"), or in short, Provider. This crowd lost their livelihood before they could understand how, then asked Him to leave. However, I guarantee they would never forget. We wouldnt. They would have asked questions from the witnesses and investigated. They would ask who that man was (Jesus), and why did He do that. My understanding is that these formerly possessed men could have become the 1st gentile missionaries recorded. If that were so (please doublecheck to be certain) the parties impacted by heavy loss of pigs may have heard the Gospel at a later time and, hearing it, understand how the Son of God who calls for surrender would allow those pigs to die. Since they just lost their livelihoods, knowing God Himself intended it (if they believed) they would have understood. I hope they heard the Gospel, and hope they did believe.
But the verse says the herdsmen went and told the town about the delivered men, not the pigs. Pastor John points this out. So i dont think the herdsmen, having witnessed the power of Jesus, wanted him out, but rather the rest of the town who hadn’t bore witness and was perhaps only thinking about the pigs. So this would create the dichotomy between having Faith in Jesus after being in his presence vs not having it and prioritizing possession.
Jessica Borgogni I believe the verse says “ those tending the pigs ran off, went into the town and reported All this, including what had happened to the demon possessed men.” Matthew 33. So I think the town people had the full story. But the point I was trying to make is how we would all react to God removing our “pigs” in our lives.
Technically the demons were the ones that killed the pigs. I just finished explaining but I’ll share here too. They possessed the pigs and made an escape. They had to leave and it was better for them in Hades to have killed themselves(pigs). The pigs were possessed. Demons have a hierarchy system like a military and it was better for them to leave the souls of the pigs in death then to go back “empty handed” in a way.. As above so below. Just like in the Kingdom of Heaven Angels must please God, demons must please their master. It would have been disgraceful for them to have simply been cast out. The objective is to steal, kill and destroy.
Guys the reason for the pigs was cus that town worshipped zues a false God and used the pigs to sacrifice . so Jesus got rid of 2 things with 1 stone.. This is not a correct answer but a man speculating. The Scriptures teach us the correct answers it goes back to the war in heaven. And to the very reason we have all been sent to Earth in the first place. And that is to come to Earth to obtain a body to be tested. To have our memories of heaven erased and in this life be tested to see wether we will chose to serve God or to refuse God and serve Satan. In the war in heaven two plans were presented the first being the Son of God's plan. Which included free agency, and coming to Earth to be tested to see if we would choose to serve God and some of us because of free agency would be lost. And not be able to return to the presence of our Father in Heaven. Now our Heavenly Father loved us and would not let us come down here to wander aimlessly. So someone would need to be sent to set the perfect example and the Son of God volunteered that he would come down and be the perfect example and if necessary he would even die for us. And in doing all of this he would give all of the glory to the Father. Wow if that does not sound familiar. And just a small note you can't return to somewhere you have never been. Just something to help you to understand that everyone who has ever been born on earth has come from our Heavenly Father's presence. The second plan presented was Lucifer's plan and that was to take away your free agency and let you be born to earth life to obtain a body of flesh and bone and be forced to experience what was required in life to become like our Father in Heaven and no one would be lost! And Lucifer said and the glory will be mine. Taking all glory from the Father of Heaven unto himself. Now this is what the war in heaven was all about. And our Father in Heaven chose the first and Lucifer and all of those who followed him were escorted out of the presence of the Father and cast to Earth. Thus becoming the devil and his followers and the number of those cast out was a third of the host of Heaven And they would never be able to possess a body of flesh and bones allowing them the chance to grow in experience and to become more like our Father in Heaven. Therefore they did swear in their wrath that they would do everything in their power to make man as miserable as they are. And try to make as many of us fail as they can. Thus the wailing and nashing of teeth. Now those who possessed those men are fallen spirits and they will try and possess anyone who will give them power to do so. So be careful for what you wish for. For once you are possessed they will try to completely take over your body and the torment that one goes through is horrific and many of these spirits will try to possess as possible. For their memories have not been erased as yours has. And they know and understand the powers of a body can give them and they want a body badly. And when they seen Jesus they knew him. For as stated their memories have not been erased and they also knew the time appointed for judgement had not yet come. They were also revealing his true identity the Son of God. So that is why he rebuked them for the time of him to be revealed had not come either. And whenever any did know of his true identity he let them know that this was given them of the Father in Heaven Now back to why they asked to be cast into the pigs. For they knew that Jesus would cast them out from these men. For the Father had said they would never possess a body of flesh and bones a human body. But nothing was said of animals. That is how badly they wanted to experience a body. The pigs did not let them in but they strived to possess the pigs bodies anyway and the pigs would not have anything to do with them for it was not natural. And they destroyed themselves rather then let them possess them. I am sure that Jesus knew the pigs would make this choice. Remember Jesus plan is free agency. All things living were created spiritually before they were fiscally. And all were commanded to reproduce after their kind. Heavenly Father wants us to understand his plan for he loves us all. Men who think they are learned mess things up. Not all of them on purpose. But some of them purposely misguide it is horrible. And others just do not know that which they need to know to save you. So always as the scriptures tell you to do ponder it out in your own minds. And then pray to your Father who is in Heaven through the name of Jesus Christ who is our mediator to the Father. And if you ask with a sincere heart and real intent he will make the truth of all things made known unto you through the power of the Holy Ghost. Who can reveal the truth of all things unto you. Don't just depend upon the words of men. For they can deceive and mislead.

Nothing to interpret really. Another example of the power God gave his son over everything on earth. No need to over explain and complicate anything. What the demons did in those pigs has no bearing on the Faith you put in God and Christ.

Problem: In both Matt 12:43 and Luke 11:24, we learn that impure spirits (demons) go through arid places after they come out of a person. In other words, we should not assume demons die if a person they inhabit dies; they have the ability to leave a body. Likewise, we should not assume the demons died in the Lake of Galilee with the pigs. It is more likely they had a different plan when they saw the pigs. They knew they had to leave the two men ('man' in Mark 5) since Jesus had absolute power over them; however, they were distraught - Jesus, the Son of God, might not just 'let them go free,' but could send them to eternal judgment at that very moment. They were indeed frightened, but then they suddenly had an idea on the spur of the moment. To make Jesus more favorable toward them, they would enter the pigs and send them all to their deaths. Since Jews consider pigs unclean, they figured Jesus would be pleased with their offer, and they may have even hoped that because of this gesture, their final judgment might be less severe. Jesus allowed the demons to enter the pigs, and in so doing, gave the people of the region (who later arrived on the scene) a choice - to believe in him because of the changed men, or reject him because of the loss of the pigs. The majority chose to reject him, but Jesus knew there was still a minority that the restored men could reach. That is why he forbid the men from joining him. He told them to go and minister to that minority by telling them all that He had done for them.
I just opened up a Bible given to me 6 years ago for the first time. And in proverbs it says for me not to go to to womens doors for sex and another was for my dad's issues in his life. I think the most important lessons here are that this man who had been so tormented for so long was set free in an instant by the power of God in Christ Jesus and that even the demons obey him! The men who owned the pigs were more upset that they lost their pigs rather than praising God for the saving of this man OR admonishing and glorifying God the Father for this display of love and power. His promises are true and He says that if you seek you shall find and if you knock the door will be opened to you. He will reveal His Word to you. @@supdude5194 Folly? Matthew 8:28 ff refers to two men possessed by demons. There is a parallel account recorded in Mark 5 where the gospel writer only refers to one demon possessed man. Just as eyewitness accounts can describe an event they both see with a focus on different details so the gospel writers each have their reasons for how they describe this event.

Thank you, my brother in Christ. I would like to add something... initially, God did not have Adam name the sea creatures. During the flood, Noah and the 7 survived, but so did the creatures of the sea. The evil spirits that were abiding in the nephilim and other wicked people survived because they took habitation in the sea creatures, and therefore survived. Most people miss that important part. This time, because Jesus was in operation, the unclean spirits went back into the sea, but they weren't sea creatures, so they perished this time. God bless you all.📖🙏✝️
Why could the demons just not manifest in the sea creatures that ate the pigs? If they (Nephilim) can take whatever creature they want to possess and they did before when they entered the sea, then why ask permission for the pigs? Yes, the demons can exist outside, but not for long, they find no rest, and go to hell if they can't find a vessel to make thier unholy habitation. For a long time I have seen another element in these verses. I looked through many of the comments, but didn't see it mentioned. It comes from a conversation I had with my dad many years ago. As a younger Christian I was trying to talk to him about the reality of demons. He had a rather vocal reaction. Here were some of his comments: "There is no such thing as a demon!" "It's all in your mind!" " It's simply a mental illness. " "We know far more now than they did in biblical times." Well, these verses shoot down my dad's argument. How could a mental illness be cast into pigs, and cause the pigs to perish? It shows clearly that there are real entities, in a real yet unseen spiritual realm. I believe these verses were partly for my dad's benefit, as well as other skeptics.
Jesus "always" taught in parables - read about it in the Bible ! Even when an 'event' happened it was not always as it seemed - remember when the disciples asked about ' what sins caused the man's problems' ?? ( u need to hear ...) Real is not the same as "literal" .... You have to teach children according to what they understand- what they are able to comprehend- how far are you in math- how many kids understand algebra in the first grade ? And what does God say to Job about 'questions and answers' ? Was Job 'real' ?? What 'division' of the Hebrew writings was Job and Proverbs and .....

This was a town on the sea of Galilee. Jesus never spoke to anyone other than Jews and he never left the area around the Sea of Galilee. It wasn’t until after his death that Saul, a gentile, was given the Holy Spirit by the angel who stoped him on the road. He was told then to take the gospel to the gentiles. So these herders and the towns people were Jews. It was not against the law of the Jews to raise pigs and sell them to the gentiles. This was by all the evidence the towns industry. They were pig farmers and legion was a demon that was working with them in their business. The man or men they were possessing we’re terrifying anyone who ventured near the towns herd of pigs and so we can deduce that the town liked the situation as it stood. Now when Jesus saw what was happening he was most likely aware of the whole situation. When Legion came out of the man/men (the scary protector of the herd and toy of the demon) and went into the pigs and stampeded them into the sea off the cliff.... it was the demons revenge on Jesus...knowing the towns people would hate Jesus for causing the demon to come out of the man and destroying their industry along with all their product. The pigs all drowned in the sea of Galilee but legion would not die until it was his time at the end of the last days. Legion would simply go away looking for another Host. The possessed man/men would most likely be the only one(s) to appreciate what Jesus did for them. Thus the angry attitude of the town that forced Jesus to leave or else.

@@pmp2559 That's an interesting question. I would venture a guess and say "no". Pigs are capable of thought and reasoning to a much lesser extent than humans. We humans have the ability to seek help if we are afflicted by evil spirits. Sadly, there are times when a situation seems hopeless and those evil spirits wear down the afflicted person, and that person is no longer capable of rational thinking. In that instance, when one's mind is terribly compromised, or for those who suffer great illnesses, I personally believe that God makes exceptions for them, as they are not entirely in control of their mental faculties. I believe the Bible does speak of this, in certain terms. I'm a bit rusty on this and need to go refresh my memory.
@@sheilam5248 Very complex topic but God did say something alone the lines of 'cutting off an infect part to enter the kingdom rather than letting it corrupt you' pretty sure you wouldnt be penalized if you ended yourself if you were demon possessed rather risking the demon making you do things that will send you to hell.

At first I thought that suicide was never something I considered to be an effective exorcism/deliverance too. Then I recalled that last confrontation scene between the evil spirit and the priest in "The Exorcist", where he throws himself out of the window falls down those incredibly steep stairs.. They all were broken down at this point and their mental states were also badly affected. It would make sense for him to commit suicide, especially in light of how desperate everyone was to get rid of that thing. Full possession does not normally happen immediately. There are several stages to possession, which were skipped when Jesus allowed the evil spirits to fully go into the herd. I can only guess that this caused the animals to go mad. I wonder if the pigs weren't simply attempting to get away from that evil and wound up going over the cliff on accident. But it sounded intentional. Anyway. Your question and responses are giving me pause for consideration. I must look into this more at a later date.
A really good, detailed answer. I remember having this question the first time I read it. The important points can be easy to overlook, such as the spirits needing Jesus's permission and that the herdsmen would have spread the word about Jesus making the men well / cured them.

The two is a representation of the church (the two witnesses, the old and new testaments). This is talking about the church. The devils or demons are wrong doctrines, understandings, wrong beliefs, teachings, etc. Coming out of the tombs represents the church being dead. A result of all its wrong doctrines and teachings. Exceeding fierce is the church controls who can be a part of it, and who can pass by/into it. One has to be of the world and not of God to be allowed into it. This is strictly controlled as we can clearly see. No one can be a part of the church unless they throw out all Biblical truth and go along with all their perversions of scripture. These false prophets and preachers/teachers have knowledge of God and his word and know there is judgement coming. They know they are not of God and have been deceiving everyone.They ask if their judgement is now, before the last day. The swine a good way off represents the church filled with all its unclean teachings and doctrines and unsaved people in it, in the last days (a far way off, from then till the end). The devils/demons requesting to go into the swine The unclean people that will lead the church with all their (actual appointed destroyed. This is just a brief overview. But I think you can get the idea. This guy has this all wrong, that is because he is one of them and not of God.

another lesson is that, the life of a man is worth more than the market price of the lives of 2000 pigs; where each pig costs around 600$ today. Insurance agents should stop underrating the worth of human life

@Darth Quantum who is it of us to judge who is a pig or not? However, if you ever confront Satan throws n the person whom he has possessed be prepared, because you will have NEVER witnessed anything like that from such a person. It goes to show that Satan truly can portray himself as an Angel of light. Whereas, most christians would say fit throwing, drug addicted, thieves were possessed (they are just lost sinners), so when confronting them with scripture A LOT of them get helped and saved by those words. Seeing your post, I wanted to reach out and help explain further.. As this pastor said, swine is unclean and the reason why Christ put the unclean spirits into the swine. We are called to follow Him, not traditions of men.. stop the pagan rituals of christmas, easter, etc. Observe the true Shabbat (Sabbath) as Saturday, the seventh day. Edit: Christ came to fullfil the law, not abolish it. In the Book of Matthew, Yahshua says that not one jot or tittle shall pass before prophecy is fullfilled. At the time of His death, He said "It is finished". In the The Book of Revelation 21:6 Yahweh, in finality says "It is done!" This is the basis for me following The Most High 's commandments, laws, statutes and feasts days.. not twisted scripture and gospel to further separate us from Yahweh. Simple answer: *They were raised to be sold as sacrifices for the Temple of Zeus that was at the other side of the lake.* (I came across this answer a long time ago and it has stood the test of time.)
Ruined their party. Not only did they lose the pigs, but also the unclean spirits. I just don't quite understand why people can't figure out why we are not supposed to eat unclean animals. Revelations says that the swine eaters will not enter the kingdom.
The number of demons was not "large" as mentioned by the pastor, but a more accurate translation speaks of "legion". A Roman legion was composed of a known number of individuals, at the time of Jesus, between 6 000 and 7 000 to be as precise as one can be, so we're talking about thousands of demons.
