Day 4️⃣6️⃣ of 1️⃣0️⃣0️⃣ DOD Topic: Why did God need Pharaoh’s permission to free Israel. Texts: Exodus 7:5; 12:12. 1. The story of the book of Exodus is about God killing two birds with one stone. - Which are to take the Israelites out of Egypt and to show his almighty power supremacy. 2. Against popular belief, the eventual leaving of the Israelites wasn’t the highlight of the Book of Exodus but the Passover process and the celebration of this Passover event for generations to come. 3. God wasn’t trying to help the Israelites to escape from the hands of Pharaoh nor to forcefully whisk them away. - Rather, He wanted Pharaoh to by himself tell the Israelites to go. 4. God wanted to reveal who the true God is by displaying his supreme power in what I will call “Power evangelism” 5. He wanted to expose the folly of the Egyptian gods by using different plagues to specifically expose their weaknesses. Exodus 12:12. 6. To show that there is one almighty deity with all the different powers of the gods of Egypt combined. 7. The foolishness and weakness of Pharaoh and the gods of Egypt was a precedent that made other Gentile nations to be more obedient to God’s word. - For instance, Jonah needed not to perform any miracle for the people of Niniveh to repent of their sins once they knew he was sent from God. I was already saying “Pastey just taught on this last week noww” 😅. Thank you Apostle for all the timely teachings. From this platform and church. It has saved my life in no little way 🙏🏾.
It wasn't just about bringing the children of Israel out of Egypt or escaping, this was a show down to reveal to the world who the one true God is. God wants to reveal that there is one almighty, He wants to prove that there is one God, and He is that one God. And to do that He'll display all the powers that the Egyptians attribute to their gods. Thank you Sir!
I always wondered about the significance of that staff to snake incident between Moses and Pharoah. Now I have a much better understanding. God just continues to awe me
When you see God handle some circumstances, especially in the scriptures and you will laugh 😂😂😂. Sometimes, you cry, other times you just marvel. God is just so great🔥🔥
DAY 47 WHY DID GOD NEED PHARAOH'S PERMISSION TO FREE ISRAEL In the story of the Exodus, God was killing 2 birds with a stone. The story of the Exodus highlights the Passover; what God asked them to celebrate and recount from generation to generation was The Passover not The Exodus. In the book of Exodus, God was not trying to help the children of Israel escape, they already had many ways to escape, he started with all the small plagues so that Pharaoh by himself will tell them to go. When all of Egypt was dark & there was light in Goshen, it was a good opportunity for the children of Israel to run but they didn't & God allowed the darkness to pass; he wanted it to be clear that it was not a contest; he wanted Pharaoh to be at his wit's end and tell the people to go by himself but most importantly he wanted to reveal who the true God was ; it was POWER EVANGELISM. He wanted to use the display to let the world know. Jonah 4 The reason Jonah's prophecy was well received because of what Moses did in his lifetime; everyone had heard of the downfall of Pharaoh. It was also easy for Rahab to believe because she had heard of the God that parted the Red Sea. Ex 7 v 5 : God wanted to expose the folly of all their false gods including Pharaoh; he was the god of the earth. All the plagues were specifically to expose the folly of the gods that the Egyptians were worshipping Ex 12 v 12. It was a showdown to reveal who the True God is. Elijah also had a showdown with the false prophets and he said; Let the God that answered by fire be GOD. How was God going to do this? God wants to prove that there is one GOD and he is indeed the Almighty God not a plethora of powers like the Egyptian gods. He did this by displaying the powers that were attributed to each of the Egyptian gods through the 10 plagues; Paganism believes that all the gods were rivals and maybe two gods could work together in certain situations but when the plagues happened they knew it was Moses' God that was behind it.
The Exodus was more than just the rescue of the Israelites, God was out to reveal who the only true God is. A power evangelism that commanded the repentance of all who heard of the foolishness of Pharaoh. - Day 47! What a revelation! Thank you, Apostle. 👏👏
100DOD: DAY 47✅ The story of exodus was God killing 2 birds with a stone. He wasn’t trying to help the children of Israel escape, he was judging the gods of Egypt of whom Pharaoh was one, proving to the whole world that He is the Lord! Thank you, Apostle🔥
Those that see the human side of you are usually slow to see the supernatural side of you. But keep trying and keep praying. Show concern in their natural life as well.
