Ghostbusters Afterlife toys are finally hitting the shelves, and ever the man child, I take a look at the toy that I would have loved to pick up as a kid, the Hasbro Ecto 1 Playset! But is it a spiritual successor to the Kenner and Trendmasters toys of yesteryear, or a massive muddled misstep?

I'm happy to see that Hasbro scaled it with the Real Ghostbusters figures. That's a fun detail meaning all the stuff released there can play alongside this! It is a massive shame that they didn't include opening doors on both sides and the fact that all four Ghostbusters cannot fit inside is a massive shame. Regarding the compatible figures, my local stores are filled with them so I can only assume they got everyone's shipments. Sadly they're all the same body with unique head sculpts, but they are all recognisable and look the business. Unsure where I stand on if I'll collect the line beyond grabbing a Ghostbuster or two for the shelf

At least this Ecto looks better than the other one, the one I got is just basically a brick in the shape of Ecto1.

Their is one Ecto that has the ability to hold all 4 Ghostbusters and spots for their packs. That was the Playmobile Ghostbusters version

Nice video, I would have liked to have seen you also compare this to the playmobil ecto-1 or ecto-1A.. thoes do have places for 4 figures and loads more details.. but they are not really a usable scale with the real ghostbusters figures.

And the swing door has a weird swoop and push operation. Wish it just pushed and clicked in. It really should have a third or even fourth seat. Nice review and comparison video. Do the wheels rolling across the floor sound like a siren to anyone else or is it just me?

I had to buy almost every new Ghostbusters toy off the internet as UK stores have had next to no Ghostbusters merchandise. I don't know if they were stung by the 2016 stuff peg warming but it's sad seeing so little Ghostbusters representation in stores now.

If you saw the images of the merchandise, they're releasing figures of older versions of the original ghostbusters in uniform. This has fans saying that they're going to get a significant role in this movie, being in uniform, and most likely busting ghosts. What are your thoughts?

I have all six of the Afterlife plasma series figures on their way to me! Hopefully they get some decent screen time and show up at the end to help the new generation take out the big bad.

@Votesaxon07: Playmobil IS an action figure line. Yes, there is some assembly required, but it is not a building block set like LEGO.

@@James_Bond_ Yeah they're better, but not the same class of toy as this, they're their own specific thing if that makes sense? Honestly Playmobil figures creep me out. Their vehicles are cool but the figures are just strange!

Haha I don’t think there’s nothing creepy about Playmobil figures no different to Lego in that respect but hey that’s your opinion. But these afterlife toys that hasbro have made for kids are just cheap tat a far cry from the quality of toys from the 90s. The Trendmasters ecto looks better and that toy is over 20 years old! Keep up the good work!

im pretty sure all the complaints apart from the doors are done correctly in the playmoblie ecto-1 as well as the red fins extending to the doors but that is the car from ghostbusters 1 and 2

I get what you're saying, but the playmobil cars exist within their own category. What I'm talking about is the cars for actual action figures such as the RGB and EGB cars.

I'm gonna customise the crap out of this. The new fright features figures are basic, but so awesome looking in that animated style. They deserve a much better vehicle. This ecto looks the part outwardly, but in action it totally underperforms. I'm opening all those doors, removing that gunner seat/mechanism, tidying up the inside and painting that roof rack.

I have also spent thousands on the the Movie Reliquary which I found by watching your mini displays and James Bond tyre spike videos, and I collect many other thigs as well .
