Correct on the Montipora Setosa, it is on the Endangered Species list with the IUCN. It has been assessed and listed as endangered since 2008. Next step is Critically endangered. So that is certainly a very amazing specimen to have. I love it and not many other Montipora as bright as the Montipora Setosa. Thanks for the great content as always.
I got the Sicce silent 1.5 return pump in my reef Casa, does an amazing job with the dual rfg nozzles, when I was measuring up I chose the reef Casa coz it had more room than things like waterbox in the return area, I think the Sicce silent 2.0 will just fit but I decided I didn’t think I needed that much flow… 🥰🍻
The 1.5 even with lots of rock (my tank is FULL of rock for corals to live on, not designed for fish, just clean up crew and tiny fish, with corals to be the main display) the pump picks up any uneaten food or detritus off the floor and even amount the rock structure, best tanks in the world if u ask me! 👊🍻🥰 still waiting to see a 40-50g top with maybe a 20-30g sump tank and stand combo from reef casa 😉😂
You will love it!! 🍻🥰 mines been running since January, had salinity swings and Dino’s over the first 6 months but I think it’s finally stable, I’ve had to learn lil things about the tank during those first few months, like my filter pad blocked so the rear chamber level dropped and I added too much freshwater which caused problems, now I test more but also change the filter pad daily (coz I feed fairly heavy) but yeah, u will love ur reef Casa tank 🥰🍻
Don’t tell people that wanting to keep acro’s is “wanting trouble, headache and hard to keep”. Acro’s are not that hard! Keep stable parameters, nutrients down and it is super easy.
I'm one of those few you mentioned who have killed birdsnest. Not once or twice but 3 times so far. Eventually, I'm gonna figure out how to do this hobby right.........uuuuggghhh
So I've had multiple birdsnest corals and they all eventually die. I've only been successful once but when I set up my refugium it killed it. Since then I've never been able to keep birdsnest. Montipora is growing like crazy tho. 😢
It would hold up sales too much i guess. + in general the bigger/trusted exporters in indonesia/australia do have a very strict and long quarantaine procedure allready. Gotta watch out a bit with maricultured corals, they sometimes directly bagged after harvest from open sea. But most exporters recognize a good quarantine, ive seen the most strict quarantines in indonesia; reputation is everything for them😊
