I believe the Lore behind it is because Blaidd was some type of servant of the demigods, he was controlled by the greater will. So when Ranni betrays the Two Fingers, he is turned into a beast
The exact lore is that when ranni was born the 2 fingers created blaidd as a servant and protector. Ofcourse when ranni betrayed the 2 fingers they made blaidd go mad and lose control killing everything and everyone(seen by the piles of corpses around him)
@@johnokazaki7967 i dont doubt it. But it was most likely for bliadd. As they had already killed iji and seluvis died of some other reason and by that point ranni was long gone
He was fighthing against the mental control of the two fingers- he would never lay a finger on ranni, yet the two fingers, from who he is a servant of, tried to force him to attack ranni
Blaidd was a "shadowbound beast", similarly to the Beast Clergyman, and being a shadowbound basically means being an honorary brother to a demigod. However the bond in question is created through a ritual related to the Greater Will, and in addition to being bound to a demigod the beast is also bound to that demigod's Two Fingers. As you already saw, Ranni killed her Two Fingers, which made Blaidd: 1. No longer immortal 2. Insane (there is a failsafe built-in by the Greater Will in the case of a shadowbound's Two Fingers dying which causes the shadowbound to go mad)
@@W1nDs0R You have an interesting theory, though as far as I am concerned there is no evidence relating to them being "roots of the Erdtree". They do, however, turn into wood when they die so perhaps this idea does hold a bit of water.
