Just a thought for a video, Truth. Not my truth, not your truth, not what other people believe, but THE truth; here and now. You've probably done it already but it seems so important right now in a society which thinks we're "Post Truth".
i don't think anyone cares you cover the same topics. isn't the whole entertainment aspect of youtube just listening to someone who's voice you like talk about their special interest? speaking of entertaining on youtube, at least once you gotta ask us to "smash that like button and hit subscribe".
As with anything, humans benefit from making it official. Ceremony and documentation is one way of doing that. Some people will be TOO MYSTICAL for those worldly ceremonies. But this is why we have graduation ceremonies, weddings, funerals, etc. “But Zen is beyond all of these things!” Not really…Zen is also practiced by humans
If human beings have a hand in something they will create a caste system where there's all us sinners, and then there's the special people who are ''ordained.'' It's a man made system folks, there's gotta be some structure and Buddhism is no different.
The public commitment of ordination deepened my personal practice. It was the culmination of decades of effort and being tired of people thinking it was a hobby or neat interest. Dharma transmission? That's only if my teacher decides to pass it on to me. It doesn't matter if I desire, want it, or not. It's their decision. Now, zazen! Viva Ziggy!
@HardcoreZenyou didn't have a choice 🤷 When you started practicing Under nishijima And you really got to advance in your practicing The teacher won't let you go That's how it work

Interesting. The Hare Krishnas believe that most vegetables are more intelligent/sentient than fish, yet they still believe it’s wrong to eat fish and ok to eat vegetables.
