Why Did It Take Us So Long To Appreciate Karl Urban?

It's no doubt that Amazon's The Boys has put Karl Urban in the spotlight once again, but he's been dominating roles for several decades. Starring in storied franchises like Star Trek, Lord of the Rings, and Thor, Karl Urban has the ability to inhabit any character he takes on. Which is to say, even though he's been working steadily for decades, we still think Karl Urban should be bigger. Perhaps his turn as Billy Butcher in The Boys will continue to push him to new heights after it ends with it's next season.

His role in RED goes very under appreciated one of my favorite movies. They made 2 or 3 of them but the first was always the best as he made for the best antagonist

I saw Karl Urban at a convention in Brisbane before he starred in The Boys. Only half full. If he came back today it be different experience. How it can all change because of 1 role 😊

Karl Urban is an actor who has a real strength of will and commitment to his method. I don't know how he personally sees every role he did, and the fact that he didn't achieve "true" stardom for a long time could sour it a little... but all his roles are memorable. When you look back at everything he did, you see the dedication he put into his work, his is a career that with the years only will look better, the small and big roles. And the fact Dredd bombed is an insult to good taste, that movie is PERFECT, not good not great, PERFECT, it wasn't just him who did a great job every single actor gave their all and the directing and effects gave the extra special flavor that makes it what it is. I blame bad advertising on that.

Urban is one of those who becomes the character he is in. That is a special talent. Some actors are very good at being convincing, but they are always, to some degree, being themselves.

I've been a fan of him since the 2009 Star Trek. He nailed Bones so entirely I was an instant fan.

I'm repulsed by the thought of meeting celebrities/actors irl, but Karl Urban is one actor that i would love to meet in person, and appreciate him for his work.
