I don’t know where you’re getting used from, but I would tell him to stop feeding you for information. They clearly don’t know what they’re talking about. The i pace is not been cancelled

Was for show to keep regulators happy. No interest in improving or even training service techs. Same range as in 2018, there is actually less tech and features in these for 2024. Compliance Vehicle, much like BMW did with i3

I completely disagree. Nothing to do with ‘compliance’. They did it because they wanted too. I don’t think there was anything to be gained otherwise in introducing an EV. They decided electric was the way to go and came out with a stunner. Since then, well, changes in management and overall direction of JLR has resulted in them heading in a new (but not necessarily good) direction. I hope it works for them, but I’m not holding my breath. They should have improved the I-Pace in important areas, but it is still IMO the best EV of that type available and I will be getting one.

@UKenGB the facts are against you. European cities began enacting regulations that forced manufacturers to produce an ev or be fined. California did the same, Just having an ev avoided penalties..... cheers. I say this while having one, it is OK to admit truethes

@@nosoupforyou425 So what exactly did Jaguar gain in 2018 by manufacturing an EV? That would be the 'fact' of the matter. Thinking it was a 'compliance' vehicle or not is simply an opinion and it is mine that it was nothing to do with 'compliance'. Another fact is that in 2018 Jaguar told me (at an I-Pace launch event) that they had decided to become an electric only vehicle manufacturer by 2025. My opinion is that they have not followed through with those ambitious plans (we'll see next year in 2025), but whatever the timescales, the fact is Jaguar made the decision to go all EV and the I-Pace was the first fruit of that decision. Call it what you like, but I don't believe it had anything to do with 'compliance', just the changing world and automotive market. It is simply a shame that Jaguar have squandered their advantage and made (In My Opinion) an unrealistic decision to try and move upmarket with ever more expensive cars and since one of their big problems currently is hopeless dealer network and lack of service, just asking more money for the cars is simply not going to work. There's a lot of quality, reliability and trust issues to resolve before they can sell cars at twice the price. As for 'compliance', well if you want you could call the first EV made by any manufacturer a 'compliance' car. But that would be meaningless wouldn't it. 😀

@UKenGB again.... a compliance vehicle that enabled the company to avoid financial penalties in Europe and California. It so enabled them to continue to sell their ice vehicles in those territories. This is the basic definition of a compliance vehicle. No opinion at all...... just facts !

@@nosoupforyou425 You seem to be getting confused. I didn't disagree with the definition of 'compliance', just the description of the I-Pace as such and I am still of the opinion you are wrong. But you're entitled to your opinion - however incorrect it may be. Another opinion is that there's no point in any further discussion on the subject.
