Qatar is the smallest country to ever host The World Cup. But their World Cup is also the most expensive EVER! So why? Discord: / discord Twitter: / h0serr Business Email: h0sermailYT@gmail.com
My aunt worked in Qatar as a maid a somehow "married" a extremely rich man and that alone supported our whole bloodline to become rich in our own country. That just shows you how rich they truly are.
As a person who lives in Qatar. You're completely right. In addition most of the immigratants who aren't working in security, Uber, construction and etc. Mostly work in the petroleum, or shipment industry.
@@darkcloud9053 An educated civil engineer of course is going to be paid very well. Most of the Arab oil nations pay highly educated people well because their own population doesn’t have the skills or knowledge. However, majority of the immigrant workforce is unskilled labourers (aka replaceable flesh cogs) and so are treated like there is another billion of them where they came from, because, well, there is.
Reporter: "So why did Qatar get the world cup? Is it because they're good at the game? Is it because they've had a long history with the sport? Is it because they've done a lot to improve football in the past?" FIFA Execs: **Looks up from the mountain of Oil money** "Hmm? I'm sorry I wasn't paying attention."
So only countries with a football history can host the world cup? By that same logic south afirca shouldn't have hosted in 2010 Football isn't russia most popular sport australia isn't known for their football yet that would've been a great host I'm not a fan of qatar but It's not for any of those reason
@@canofsouls282 How though? Exploiting the globalist, capitalist system? If that was possible some country would've already figured out how to do that, you can't just run a whole country off of purchased debt.
Qatar: I will buy the World Cup to boost my soft power. Evreyone else: that’s nice well because if the human rights violations we are not going to watch.
Bro these other “rich” western countries literally stole other people’s land and natural resources to get to where their economy is and still have major issues like homelessness, human trafficking, corruption, and a large population of people addicted to drugs, but they don’t mention it when calling out other countries trying to be a “hero”
Worth mentioning that Qatar even imported fully grown trees. They imported them from Iran, which the Iranian government took from an Arab population to the south of the country.
@@remaks8405 Yes. They were literally uprooted leaving the area they were taken from barren. When the Arabs of the region protested, the Irani government squashed the protest.
Gosh I love this channel. Thank you for highlighting the issues that affect migrant workers there. Its really unfortunate the types of work conditions people there have to go through. When I went to Dubai for the first time, it was eye opening to see how many people from India, Bangladesh and the Philippines worked and lived there.
well... they just did an advertisement for the new modern eco-friendly cities they built. It is not about the match. That's what I call it, a long-term investment. 2 things in 1.
the game is played by qatari players who are argurably the best in their actual 350.000 population pool which is to say isnt a lot, and wouldnt be anything to be taken serious (saying from personal experience, the qatari national team might be comparable to the vietnamese national team; there was the 2018 U23 asian cup match between U23 qatar and U23 VN that ended with a 2-2 draw and a penalty shoot-out, which VN won for 4-3)
@@the_other_cartographer6945 qatar actually tried to join but couldnt because they were outside some euro radio zone or something lol, austrailia joined as a guest since they had broadcasted eurovision for a lot of years
@@the_other_cartographer6945 To host the Eurovision Song Contest your singer has to win it in the firts place. And with the recent corruption scandal I am highly doubtful they will even invite it
I like how people are actually addressing the issue of high immigrants in Arab countries cause the only fucking problem here in India is unemployment. If you want a Stable job, you need to go through shitfuck amounts of Exams and low amount of jobs are there. I've seen many of Actually financially stable families going to other countries to do LITERAL slavery. Also that passport seize thing still exists (one of my uncle was trapped there and only came back after 5 years)
Not actually. If you got a good engineering degree as an expat you can live in arab countries very happily. Even if you are indian. E.g me. And in fact there are MANY more people like this. Not every immigrant is poor. Speaking of "slavery", if you look at it that way, then every country has some form of slavery in a way.
Its the same with the UAE, they thought ahead and instead of just profiting from oil, they decided since they have nothing else to export, they can only truly survive with tourism. So they spent millions to develop the land and build mega cities that people actually dream of living in like Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Sharjah which would enable the wealthiest of people to invest in real estate and bring tons of tourists to spend money. Qatar isn't just hosting the world cup, they have hosted boxing, gymnastics, handball and are looking to be a prime spot for ICC T20 cricket matches as well which are well watched by more than a billion people. Qatar has focused on a niche target and hopes to continue to be that prime target.
Being 100% reliant on oil and gas exports in a world that's steadily adopting renewable energy sources definitely won't cause catastrophic economic damage in the future.
@@LG-te4vh now you have seen. There are alot of countries who there entire foreign currency is dependent on just tourism and economy, just beacuse you are obviously about doesn't mean it doesn't exists, not everyone can become a giant factory like china.
@@profilepicture828 yeah it is, the parliament always votes for the same person or his descendants the power remains in the same family voting is just a formality
@@justanoob8790 if qatar is an absolute monarchy because the monarch de facto has all the power, then the uk isn’t a monarchy because the monarch de facto has no power
@@profilepicture828 Except that political structure of Qatar is in effect an absolute monarchy . Al Thani family runs the whole country and even in the constitution the parliament has insane powers of "limited ability to reject legislation" because emir is in charge of legislation and the executive branch and judicial system is Sharia law. Politics of Qatar is tribal in nature with a bunch of clans fighting for power. Do you see how it is different from the UK where the monarch has only ceremonial power?
I live in the uae and I had no idea Qatar was so damn rich! Very informative video and although uae residents absolutely despise Qatar, this was fun to watch!
I LITERALLY HAD A TEST TODAY ABOUT INEQUALITY INCOME AND QATAR WAS MENTIONED, IF YOU POSTED THIS ONE DAY EARLIER I WOULD'VE HAVE GOTTEN SUCH A GOOD GRADE 😭😭😭😭 Edit: I ended up getting a 15/20 :/
There's another reason why Qatar built the stadium that wasn't mentioned: what few Qataris there are are composed of numerous tribes that have often been at loggerheads and even fought out-and-out wars in the past. The stadium was a way of unifying these tribes through the medium of sport.
Unifying these tribes happened in the 1970s when the Al-Thanis came into power and gave each tribe their spokesperson and plot of land and area in Qatar which they inhabit. Them being unified through sport is not true at all, the only actual tribalism that still exists is probably in the bedouins of Saudi Arabia and Jordan. The rest have integrated with the rest of society in Kuwait, Qatar, UAE, and Bahrain.
@@alyafei3829 The following article disagrees. Quoting Hassan Al Thawadi, the Qatari in charge of building the eight stadiums which Qatar built in total for the World Cup: "The secretary general [Al Thawadi] said he believes in the transformative power of sport, in this case, soccer, which he feels can be a great contributor to a positive breakthrough in relations for his nation and religion. It is a unifier,” Al Thawadi said. “It breaks down barriers...' That's from USA Today, "World Cup 2022: With huge investment, Qatar seeks global unity."
hOser I swear, I love this channel. It's entertaining & Educational in a funny way and the Animal Flags are way better in my humble opinion, it gives them more character to portray.
All of this makes one wonder where the 2030 World Cup is going to be. I mean, it's the century anniversary edition of the event, and Uruguay already asked to host the cup, alongside Argentina, Chile and Paraguay. By historical right, they deserve this cup to be hosted there. But knowing how FIFA works... I'm not so sure if it's that simple anymore.
I know, i want to know the details behind that. Before clicking I thought that was the whole point of the video. The title is why they are hosting the cup, not what is Qatar.
You should watch this video from Johny Harris for that kind of info. It's probably the reason why this one popped in my youtube recommendations... ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-dt_Q03HNbTk.html
Holy shit this guy and his school power point style like if he’s giving a power point presentation in front of a class is hilarious, very entertaining.

This video is so well done, I highly recommend you guys watching it, but you are in a hurry, in a few words: It's because they are rich ASF and they wanna flex to all the broke people coming in.
my uncle taught at a community college in qatar for like 15 years before moving back to canada. You be would safe to assume he always got the best christmas and bday gifts from uncle steve
At 9:15 you ask what they would do with their immigrants if they stopped building and for some reason you assume they would be hit if they simply deported them even though at the beginning you mention how those immigrants arent really part of society. They are there to work and work only. The don't bring their families and they don't rent or buy anything. They can be deported when they decide to slow down the building and Qatar won't be affected. Thats one of the reasons the immigrants are so segregated from society (Other than a fudged moral compass)
@@idrisi8352 brother he never talked about islam you're getting too worked up about it, i was laughing at how he was criticizing the rich folkes of Qataris & how they used migrants works just like eurpoians. Try watching it with an open mind
0:07 imagine putting qatari transportation with a picture of dubai’s leader. they’re completely different people. know who that is first, then put a right picture.
I subscribed because I don't want to go to qatar as a worker. I once visited mecca and medina, it is hot as hell. Even as a tourist, I cant stand it...... Love your videos
Yes the world does have different biomes and countries along the equator are hot. U do know there are ways to cool off right? Your going to be surprised when you visit Australia and find out they also have a lot of desert
