This is the first interview with Reverend Cleveland one of the foremost experts in automotive history, from personal experience. He grew up in the hot bed of Hot Rodding, Southern California. From the beginning, from walking through Mickey Thompson's Garage, to hanging out with Smokey Yunik. He tell us were the precursor to the Cleveland iron 4V head came from, and who originally owned it. When Bunkie Knudsen came to ford in 68 from Gm, and brought with him both smokey Yunik, and Larry Shinoda. Lots more in detail in another video. The first prototype Cleveland Heads are the ones in these pictures, they have never been run. The iron 4v head was designed after this set of SKE 2290 heads. No Smokey Yunik, did not design them... Sorry Chevy Guys. Two pair were made this and another set, The second set were turned into a set of high port Cleveland heads by Pro stock racer and master machinist Paul Jenkins. He raced them in Pro Stock Class, in the early to mid 70's. Reverend Cleveland tells the story well. He one of the most knowledgeable guys I know, about rare ford engine parts. Also the Reverend has known tons of racers, manufactures, corporations, secret knowledge, just you wait.. My Buddy Steve Kenzle owns the high port set, raced by Paul Jenkins. The set in these pics were sold to collector in Australia. I have the matching block, that was made for these heads. The first Cleveland block also dated 1968. Now if you see this guy from down under, he needs the block, it would be a match made in heaven. Will make another video with these compatible parts. For those that are reading this, the truck/trailer you see here... the res of the story...Stay Tuned.
We are going to go in depth with real life stories, and info no one has ever heard about every facet of racing
