I graduated high school in 1990. I loved the 90's too! I would love to go back because many people I love were alive. I had a social life and got to see many awesome bands!

Born in 89. Childhood being in the 90s it was the best. Everything featured here was awesome especially the cars ❤ I remember going to blockbuster on Fridays to rent movies and games and snagging an AOL free trial disc to download it on the family computer 😂 sleepovers playing GTA3, Diablo 2, RTCW all night. I miss my Pokémon card collection😭😭😭. Good times ❤

I was born in the late 70’s, so I grew up in the 80’s and came of age in the 90’s (class of 96). I miss it all, but I think the best part was the music. Pop, grunge or rap…it was ALL so good!

Special mentions for the 2000s. Perfect Dark! Xbox was king with Halo parties dominating my high school days!! Games like Mech Warrior, Crimson Skies, Desert Storm, Ghost Recon, Rainbow Six Vegas, and more! So many treasured memories in games alone. But also the golden age of hanging the mall, playing Magic the Gathering, and crashing at friends' houses. Also paintball

I think the best way to describe being a kid in the 90s was “hopeful” We had this great big wild new world of computers and games and movies and ideas and we were watching it all unfold and be born right in front of us, and we felt like there was no limit to what might be possible. Photorealistic graphics in games? Just a matter of time. Robots? They’re working on them. Virtual reality? Yep, we knew it was coming, even though it was in a very primitive state at the time. Anything and everything seemed possible and there was nothing that could stop us…until September 11th. Nothing has been the same since and everything has just been a slow descent into mediocrity or worse ever since.

When the video talked about aerodynamics in cars it didn't make sense to me why 70's and 89's cars became so blocky because cars from the 40's and 50's and some of the 60's were aerodynamic so we can't blame that on old technology. So I still don't know wtf happened

Definitely one of the weirdest was the original Sega Saturn unveiling / presentation at the Computer Entertainment show, compete with it's odd visuals like a bald woman with Saturn rings around her head and other such weird imagery. I imagine that didn't exactly wow people over; especially after seeing it's price and then the PlayStation was unveiled with a much more impressive presentation and a cheaper price tag. But also later the PlayStation had a Japanese game literally called LSD and it was definitely a mind trip.. But the 90s had the best Japanese sports cars

I try not to let nostalgia overpower reality, but dammit, it was a perfect decade to be a child/young adult. I know that everybody says that about their childhood decade, and it's all equally subjective and valid and guided by personal circumstance, but, I mean... fuck, man, after this interminably long era of corporate minimalism and the slow death of the concept of cultural decades in favor of an amorphous monoculture, it's hard not to see the 90s and early 00s as a last hurrah for exciting aesthetic and variety.

Umm....no 🤣 The PlayStation came out in Japan late 1994 and then to the West in 1995, alongside its rival the Sega Saturn. Prior to that, over in Japan they had the NEC PC-FX which ran CD's as well as the Philips CD-i Prior to both, we got the Atari Jaguar and the Sega 32X add on console. Prior to that we had the Panasonic 3DO which came out in 1993 for $700 (got a $200 price drop in 1994) Prior to that, in 1991 Neo Geo came out with it's AES console that played arcade perfect games for $650. Sometimes the games would run up to $200 each. Prior to that Sega Genesis came out in 1989 followed by the Super Nintendo 2 years later, and in between that, the NEC PC-Engine. Prior to that, we had the NES and Sega Master System and over in Japan and the UK they had the MSX which was actually Microsoft's first console and the console that Sony first made games for ironically.
@tg-zr6iq
@tg-zr6iq 4 дня назад
PlayStation was supposed to attach to super Nintendo like Sega cd
@budgiecat9039
@budgiecat9039 4 дня назад
Not attach. Built in. But Nintendo backed out. Actually, even before Sony asked to make a console with Nintendo, they first asked Sega who laughed them out saying "what does Sony know about video games" and then they asked Namco who also refused Actually way before all that, Namco got pissed off at Nintendo once due to some monopolizing of cartridge manufacturing fees and called them a monopoly, and threatened to walk and make their own console, teaming up with NEC (who made the PC-Engine console) but Hudson objected because they already had a partnership with NEC so that never happened. Incidentally enough, Sony was experienced with making consoles because I believe they manufactured some versions of the 3DO besides Panasonic, and they published games in the past as well, some for the Super Nintendo and MSX.

I am not going to lie. I don't like the 90s all that much. I grew up in it and aside from a shit ton of bomb ass cartoons like AAA Real Monsters, Street Sharks, and Gargoyles hell watch that shit it seriously holds up and I actually re watched Gargoyles like 2 months ago the show really hold up even over time. Also X Men and Batman and Superman but aside from the cartoons much of the games are interesting but controls are shit compared to now and hell I don't know how I got so fucking good at games from that time but I can't play them realistically anymore. Hell the internet back then well I found an anime site back in the late 90s and I am going to straight up admit the internet was pure fucking evil if other people were online. It could easily take hours to log in. I listened to a We Will Rock You once in the 1990s and it took 29 hours to load the song. You couldn't just play the song it took hours to days to do shit. Hell to watch the video of the guy wearing the banana and singing its peanut butter jelly time it would take 1 to 3 hours to load the song. Back then you basically would start the loading process then do chores then when your chores were done it might be ready. I literally was trying to play a game online so what I did was I started the game loading went I went to the movie theaters and watched 3 movies and came home and it was 7% loaded so I went and read a book went to sleep and then the next day went to school, came home, did chores, watched some shows, then oh boy it was ready not it was ready the next day after school. Often times I would set something to load on the computer and go and watch a full hour of CSI then some stuff would be ready. I don't miss that at all. I also don't miss the fog of cigarettes and cancer. I also don't miss the smell of grunge. I also don't miss the toys which were fucking dangerous like the sky dancing fairy which I had one and that dam thing nearly took my head off when it flew in the air. Basically take a barbie doll add reciprocating saw blades for its 5 inch arms and make them spin around fast enough to cut your head off. The thing broke and flew wildly as they generally did and it cut my favorite jacket and my favorite shirt and embedded itself into a tree and I rand home and got my dads pliers and ripped its arm off and ripped the blade out of the tree. Oh I also had to put a bandage on my shoulder because it did clip me a bit and it wasn't too bad but it did bleed a little bit. I told the McDonalds that I got it from a few days later about what happened and advised him to take it off the shelf which he did only after a kid proved it was dangerous. Also the item never got banned even after the nearly 250,000 deaths it caused in which over 49,000 deaths were kids being decapitated and it still didn't get a ban it just got a warning might be dangerous. So I don't miss the zero fucks given to children's safety. Even after telling adults that it was dangerous they didn't understand that a saw blade that flies in the air could possibly be harmful. 1990s Adults: Kids will love playing with a flying saw blade. Yea really sounds stupid when said now but back in the 1990s adults never thought it was dangerous and even still didn't fully except it could possibly be somewhat dangerous after 250,000 deaths because ok after 250,000 deaths they could start looking into it to maybe see if it could possibly be maybe dangerous but probably not which is where I knew then instantly Gen X and older generations are absolute morons.

Parts were expensive, and it required a lot of maintenance. The car was amazing though for the time. When it was running right. I think it spent more time broken, than working.
