Also, the reason he did a clipless review of this movie wasn't due to copyright issues, it was because the film was still in theaters at the time. Last of all, you've seen the Fifty Shades of Grey films? Again, the list of movies you have seen is disappointing.

Pauly Shore was one of the leads of Bio-Dome. I think Peter Dinklage's character is based on Billy Mitchel was a famous video game champion who got really high scores but been in trouble when he's been accused of cheating by using an emulator.

This movie technically counts as a video game movie, so it’s quite obvious that it was affected by the infamous video game movie curse. Which is nowadays going away more and more, which is good.

The funniest thing about this movie is near the end the movie froze at my theater; it was stuck on Peter Dinklage's smug smile for about 8 minutes ... and got the biggest laugh from the audience.

You know a movie is bad when Duck says "I never seen this" and you let out a sigh of Relief. Also, there's a scene in this movie where "the creator of Pacman" walks up to Pacman just to get his arm bitten off. That person was played by an asian actor (Denis Akiyama), but this movie got the actual creator of Pacman, Toru Iwatani, to make a cameo in the movie as a random arcade repairman at the beginning of the movie. I imagine the producers of this movie tried getting Iwatani to do the Pacman scene during filming, and he said "fuck no"

@6:14 please keep in mind that those scores is FROM The Rotten Tomatoes Critics. The green splat is for them, the popcorn icon is actually the scores for the audience. The Waterboy still has a 71% meaning it did fine. 🍅 Also I think Pixels IS his last major role. Back in 2015! He recently made a animated Netflix movie called Leo that ACTUALLY did better than Disney's 100th anniversary movie Wish! 🤡

17:10 Oh I'm not done with this part... First of all, Donkey Kong doesn't have cheat codes! It's an arcade game! Arcade games don't have cheat codes. Furthermore, even back then, video game tournaments were VERY heavily scrutinized. Official unaltered hardware has to be used with a presiding judge, just like physical sports. Billy Mitchell had his scores rescinded because he MIGHT have cheated and they weren't re-instated until there was confirmation. So Dinklage gets away with something that isn't possible in front of judges and spectators?? Also, PAC MAN DOESN'T HAVE CHEAT CODES EITHER.

Important to note that Billy Mitchell's scores were _not_ reinstated, and even by the determination of his own "expert witness"(laughable as it was), his scores shouldn't be. (His own expert said that "supposedly" the footage in question could be produced by legitimate, unmodified hardware if the hardware was faulty, but I believe that alone would still disqualify his score.) His scores were re-added as a separate archive on the TG website, but only for "historical" reasons(really, just to comply with the settlement). His scores have _not_ been reinstated as part of their official leaderboard.

Billy did cheat and the records weren’t reinstated. He just agreed to settle rather than go further in court.

Rather than donating it to a big charity, you could always find some homeless shelter in your area and donate it to them instead. They tend to accept smaller amounts

I think it was “overhead” there ARE effects, but even with licensing, it feels like it was a paycheck for at very least the stars if not more of the people involved

Duck, if you can handle it, there's a short film also named "Pixels" by OneMoreProd studios (2010), that this movie was inspired by. It's much better quality, but...its also quite darker

There's only two movies that could be called "Adam Sandler movies" that I like: Happy Gilmore and Fifty First Dates. The Hotel Transylvania movies were something not Adam Sandler, even if he played Dracula.

Haven't seen most Disney movies? Weird, but makes sense given your confusion over red face. You got it right about that being impersonating a Native American. For those who grew up with Disney, the first introduction to the idea was in Peter Pan, with the now highly problematic song "What Makes The Red Man Red." Yeeeeah, didn't age well

This movie made me cry when I saw it. I was very upset by my favourite characters be made turn evil. I know they were supposed to be aliens but still, evil Pac-Man and Donkey Kong upset me. I'm not good with these types of childhood ruination. Thank God this movie sucked so almost no one brings it up

- The fact this review is coming up to 10 years old is enough to make me feel old - Clipless reviews are made before the movie comes out on physical media - Recommend the Battle Angel Alita review. A live action anime adaptation that isn't awful
