Johnny had a point, but I don't think daniel made the wrong call. Tory was not in the right head space to fight safely where there are rules. Yes Tory might have been working though it, but if they let the fight continue there is a good chance Sam would have ended up in critical condition, leaving her in critical condition. Alternatively one of the sensais could have volanteered to sparr with Tory to let her get it of her system. Johnny wasn't exactly helping matters and was actually more biased, pushing for Devon to make the cut
Yes both sides had reasonings I’m not saying Danial was completely wrong but I believe Danial should’ve listened to Johnny more instead of pushing what he was saying aside and no Johnny wasn’t “more biased” lol yeah he pushed Devon to be in the saikai taikai but look at what Danial did he put demitri and anthony Tory 😂😂 so no Johnny wasn’t more biased lol ok Devon yeah I get that but he made sure to include Tory and agreed with Danial’s top picks he was thinking of best fighters overall while Danial was picking all miyagi do (and before Kenny’s even brought up it made sense why Danial nor Johnny really picked him for their top 6 yeah Kenny is a strong fighter but not Johnny nor Danial has really trained with Kenny so they don’t really know his strengths and weaknesses and only know he trained in cobra Kai and under Robby so from that Kenny wasn’t picked either)
@@Onisan940 Yeah man, I totally agree about the Anthony and Demitri stuff, that was a biased move from Daniel. However, as the season progressed, he was more or less ok with Anthony not making it. Johnny couldn't let the whole Devon thing go, and even when she finally makes it and Hawk doesn't, to be fair Daniel was the first to adress that they don't have their strongest possible team.
Johnny pretty much understood where Tory was coming from because he was also in the same spot when he lost his mother and turned to fighting in the dojo the same way Tory was doing for her mother. It is sad that Tory felt unheard and pushed away because of Daniel stopping the fight when she had the girl's fight won fair and square, it's the whole favoritism thing that drove Tory away at the worst time. Had Daniel listened to Johnny and let the fight continue knowing that both of them will stop the fight if it gets out of control, Tory would have won that one and worked through the grief she's going through, Johnny was more balanced in this season and knew where she come from, and he would have helped her through the loss she suffered.
@@devonhinckley2889 yes exactly that’s why I disliked Danial way more than any character this season his whole favoritism thing is so annoying Johnny was picking favorites with Devon but when it was time to pick the team he actually had balance since instead of being like Danial and choosing all eagle fang he chose people who knew miyagi do eagle fang and cobra Kai. Danial’s team was Miguel Robby Sam hawk demitri and Anthony who were his picks because of miyagi do. While Johnnys picks were more about balance and strength with Miguel Robby hawk Sam Tory and Devon and it’s not like he dissed Danial’s picks or teachings he respected them but knew there were better fighters while Danial on the other hand didn’t respect his teachings at all. I am planning on making a video on Danial in the future because his treatment in this season to everyone was just annoying. (Also thank you for the comment.)

I couldn't have said it any better myself, the whole favoritism pretty much is gonna tear the whole dojo apart, but thank goodness that Johnny was the bigger man and stuck with it for the kids because he knew what was best for them, the balance of both offense and defense just like Sam Larusso did earlier in Season 4 when she incorporated Johnny's offense into her Miyagi Do style because she knew much faster than her father Daniel that offense and defense has to be balanced together. She's the female Miyagi Fang of the class, having incorporated Johnny's Eagle Fang and her father's Miyagi Do to her own style because out of all the Laurosso family, Sam Larusso is the most balanced of the family. Don't get me wrong, Tory is such a powerhouse too because her offense and strength is unbelievable, but she's also learning defense as well so Tory also rules in offense and defense, in my book, both of them are powerful honorable fighters in offense and defense equally
We will see why she made that choice. Sure first I also thought she joined because Kreese wanted her to be his captain and Daniel made a horrible mistake (his favorism is really laughable! He even wanted to put Demetri over Tory!), but would she really go to Kim Daeun who hates her so much on her own will? And drop all the people who care about her, including her [maybe now] ex-boyfriend or still boyfriend Robby, Amanda but also Samantha? Maybe yes. But there is also an other option. I am not a fan of mythical or fictional things, but Robert Mark Kamen is, he is the creator of _The Karate Kid_ saga, and also works close with the _Cobra Kai_ creators. And Kamen has a soft spot for these things. I mean cmon, but the cave scene with Kreese and this white snake who bit him was already mythical or fictional. But we saw what the venom of that white snake does to people. When Kreese had it inside of him, he was even able to kill Johnny in his halucination, for the first time he killed Johnny. And when he got bitten and injected with the venom, he lost consciusness, and when he woke up, he was ice-cold. So isnt it possible Daeun ambushed Tory when she left Miyagi-Do, knocked her unconcsious and injected her that venom too? And when Tory woke up, she was Cobra Kai again and all her feelings towards Robby, Sam etc were gone? I am not a fan of such mythical things, but the white snake was already something like that. And if a scenario like this should be true, nobody can be mad at her because she didnt join C.K. at her own will, but was knocked out and basically like kidnapped. We will see. I dont think it was that way! But it would also be an explanation. Also a better explanation why nobody could find her anymore after she left M-D, and how she suddenly was in Barcelona.

@@Onisan940 Well, there is a scene that many people dont know about since it wasnt shown in the final cut in season 5. I must go more into deatail (sorry its going to be bigger) so its better to understand: *Fact is Grace Nichols died on the same day after Tory said no to Kreese.* And imo its negligent to be absolute sure she just died via coincidence. I dont think Kreese killed her, Silver maybe, but if she was killed, my prime suspect is Kim Da-eun. There is one thing which could at least be a hint Daeun killed Tory's mom Grace: There was a scene in S5 when Tory told Daeun she has a sick mother, so Daeun knew about Grace Nichols. But they cut that scene out. Because the audience would know this fact. In that scene, Tory told Daeun she couldnt fight Sam because of her sick mother. And Daeun with ice-cold eyes said: _"Mother????!!!! You are here to train!"_ . This shows how cold Daeun is, and that she gives nothing about Tory s mother. Its very good possible Daeun was in Kreeses company when he went back to the USA to get Tory back, like with a private jet or other airplane. And when Kreese was out to intercept Tory in the parking lot of the hospital, Daeun was at Tory s home and killed her mother. I dont buy Daeun suddenly has no problems with Tory anymore, and to kill her mom would be like killing two flies with one hit: 1) Making Tory freaking out and more open to join Kreese again. 2) Hurting Tory and give her a payback since she betrayed CK and her [Daeun] in S5. *Can we be sure the "The Way Of The Fist" is really the name of the Kim s family style? Or is it something else? Couldnt it be the the description of a deadly technique? A tenchique that leads to aneurysma and blood clots, and the victim clinches his fist in his final moment because of cramps.* Grace's fist was clinched when she was on the floor. It would be a very sardistic name if this is the meaing, basically "The Way Of The Fist" would mean a technique that leads the victim in his final moments before dying to clinch his fist because of a cramp. And 100% for sure if this is the case and it would get exposed, Kreese would definately break down completely, because I dont think he would kill a sick woman. But Daeun maybe yes. Especially to hurt Tory as much as possible for what she did. And some other thing that nobody talks about: Do you know the 2001 movie _Kiss of the Dragon_ , starring Jet Li and Bridget Fonda? If you dont know it, its a great movie. One of my favorite movies ever, marital arts, gun fights, chasings, drama, thriller, small love story, all together in one movie. To make it short: "Kiss of the Dragon" is a riddle. When you see that title, you dont know what it is or means. In the end of the movie, Jet's character, the chinese cop Liu Jian, takes out the antagonist, a corrupt cop named Jean-Pierre Richard. And do you know how? With a fictional deadly technique name "The Kiss Of The Dragon". Its done with an acupuncture needle in the back of the neck. It leads all the blood going up to the brain, never comes down, and the victims dies painfully with cramps when the blood comes out the ears, eyes, mouth and nose. And do you know who wrote the storyline for _Kiss of the Dragon_ ? Three people: 1) Jet Li 2) Luc Besson *3) Robert Mark Kamen (the creator of **_The Karate Kid_** saga )* Li and Besson were never known for such "magic" things in movies, but it seems Kamen likes them a bit. And Kamen is the creator of _The Karate Kid_ characters, including Miyagi and Sunyung. So couldnt it be that "Way of the Fist" is a kind of riddle like "Kiss of the Dragon"? That it describes a deadly technique that makes people die with cramps and clinching their fist? Would be a sadistic name for it. But thats the same with "Kiss of of the Dragon". The drum is also a kind of riddle. When you see it, you dont know what it really is. I needed 20 years or longer what this little drum symbolizes, the human body. The head, the arms, the torso, and it symbolizes the swinging torso and hip movement, and the arms hitting the opponent in the same time. We know for sure the name of Kim s fighting style is Cobra Kai. So why should this style have two names, Cobra Kai and The Way Of The Fist? If you ask me, probably because Cobra Kai is the name for the style, and The Way Of The Fist is the name for a killing technique, that maybe killed Grace Nichols. Buttom line (sorry the text was bigger!): All these things underline Kim Daeun had knowledge about the existence of Grace Nichols (the deleted scene from S5 shows it), and why should the producers made the decision to delete this scene? Because otherwise all viewers would remember Daeun knows about Grace, and if Grace was killed, she would be a suspect too. And Daeun is definately so cold that she would have done that to Tory, kill her mom to hurt her badly, but also kidnapp her and inject her with the venom to join C.K. as top female fighter. If Tory should really be under the influence ot that venom now, you can be sure she will attack Sam with 100% force and her feelings towards Robby will be gone too. And only under such circumstances Daeun could ever trust Tory again, we all know how much she disliked her. In the final fight of S5 Daeun said to Tory: _"I knew I couldnt trust you Nichols"_ .
TBH, I get where both sides are coming from, but Tory was fighting so aggressively in that match there was a good chance she was going to injure Sam, which would cost them one of their top fighters. Personally, I think the solution would have been for Johnny to take Tory inside the dojo, away from everyone else, and tell her to fight him, as he would have been able to handle her aggression better. Once Tory has it all out of her system, then they can determine when she and Sam finish their match.
Yeah that could’ve worked too but Johnny said all he wanted to do as a kid was to fight through his mothers death in a 3 point match and Tory doing that against Johnny wouldn’t have really been fair so I think that’s why Johnny didn’t think to do that
@@Onisan940 My belief is that Johnny wouldn't try to win, but would just be an opponent who could handle the aggression Tory wanted/needed to let out. He would only provide enough resistance so she could get it ALL out of her system.
@@onmas909 yes it does symbolize that it showed that the most unexpected thing that can happen will lead to you becoming unbalanced and that’s what happened to Tory her mother died unexpectedly and that lead her to going back to her old cobra Kai ways and becoming unbalanced
