Why Didn't Binx Warn Max About the Sanderson Sisters?- Hocus Pocus Theory

Hey howdy hey how is everybody doing and welcome back to Disney Daily
Hocus Pocus is classic to every Disney fan.
Although it wasn’t seen as very popular at the time of its release, the spooky witches tale has definitely gained a dedicated fan base over the years. It Is one of my favorite Halloween movies that I put on every year to get me into the Halloween spirit.
And I mean what’s not to love, there’s witches, a black cat, a spell book, an incredible dance number and much more. Now although this film is truly genius in a lot of ways, there is one big question that has been left unanswered. The question is if Binx the cat could talk, why didn’t he tell his parents? Or why don’t he warn Max? Well I believe I have an answer to those questions and we explore that in today’s video.

Now that is a interesting question That people may have been pondering about. Pondering as to why Zachary Binx didn't say anything to warn Max about The Sanderson sisters. Instead of remaining silent and watching Max , Allison and Max's sister Dani touring the old Sanderson's cottage. Aside from idle speculation but I speculate that is because the only way to end and reunite with his sister. The only way for Zachary Binx to unite with his sister was That Zachary had to wait 100 years for a virgin to light the black flame candle. In order for him to speak in cat form and in the end with his curse to live forever with his guilt. That curse being finally broken also released from his cat form punishment. Now he could reunite with his sister and walk into the light

My favorite character Binx aka Thackery Binx. I loved the relationship between him & Dani. She was another favorite of mine. I always wondered what it would be Emily survived and Binx lived as for human. I so wish he lived at the end. I hope he comes back for the sequel.

@@SeraphiraWolfie I think it’s obvious after waiting 300 years for his life to end that it isn’t going to happen due to the fact, but he was given immortality he wanted to be reunited with his family in death, but couldn’t be due to the immortality spell separating him from his parents and sister, the side effect of being cursed to live forever, knowing that he had failed to save his sister. It just so happens that one place seems to attract this immortal black cat a spot in the Sanderson home that was once the site of a horrific crime. Where are the Sandersons literally sucked the life out of Emily Binxs Winnifred gave Thackeray Binxs, so he was trapped on earth, not only in the form of a cat, but on earth in general, despite the amount of passing years that he waited, he could not die and over the years it became obvious to him that he would never be reunited with his family or so he thought. He had to wait 300 years thinking maybe his in mortality could preventing the sisters from ever returning, but he failed at that too, but he made a solemn oath that he would not fail again. As a result he joined forces with Max, Allison and Danny, and show them what they were dealing with he armed them with knowledge, in order to give them courage to deal with the Sanderson sisters and the Townhall dance a perfect distraction to keep them busy using their heads. Allison, Max and Danny decided to do something about their wicked plant. Tackery binks un aware of the consequences of the Sanderson sisters, death trying to get rid of them. When the three sisters came back again due to the fact that the candle was still lit, well would only expire when the sun came up at after catching Danny Winnifred made the most fatal mistake

My very first cats name was Binx. She sadly at about two to three months old got run over by a car, I still miss her.. even though it was about ten years ago I still love her...

Awh :( well she’s in heaven now with all the other animals and probably hopefully so with my dog, she got murdered… i hate the island where i was born they would kill dogs just to eat them I HATE THEM so muchh, that dog was with me ups and downs i got her when i was 3 yrs old and eventually i flew to america and i guess she got sad and went to the back which i warned her about when she was just a puppy that she should never go there no matter what, thats where they kill animals. Soon when i become a soul i will find the person who had killed my dog and they will go up to the gates of heaven with me well they’re gonna be probably sent to he// i hope so. Because they should forever feel the guilt throughout heaven until they have been reborn. they will feel how i felt when i heard the news of my very beloved Victoria, i had cried my eyes out hells even to this year i still cry when i think of her even if i don’t.. she was my very first puppy.. she still is. I hope she knows i love her so much

You said in your theory that Thackery’s parents and the other townspeople would have killed him had they heard him speak in his cat form, which I would have no doubt, however the witches cursed Thackery to live forever with the guilt of his sister’s death so the only flaw would be that the townspeople wouldn’t be able to kill him because of the witches spell! So that’s my theory why Thackery couldn’t talk and tell his parents about the Sanderson Sisters spell

Good catch. Yep, they definitely twisted that spell so that he absolutely couldn't do much to tell anyone for if he had he'd still be alive after they tried killing him. BUT... the only thing weird about that is: if we were to imagine he'd try to tell then in ANY form not just verbal, which he could do, they still might kill him... but by the same Salem legend way by tying him up and throwing him in a lake. That'd be pretty horrific and he'd be down in the water a very long time, unless he floated. He might eventually get out by himself or with luck from the river or lake but still pretty crazy. My theory is Binx was able to eventually communicate a message at some point. Most likely after typewriters became a thing. He could type it up himself. Thus the true legend was born.

It seems to me that Binx and Salem are similar to each other, because they're both black cats. They were men that got themselves transformed into these unlucky felines as punishments by evil witches. I don't have a favorite character from this long flick that I'm going to watch with my parents for Halloween 2023 on DVD, but I'll tell you that I saw this movie once or twice on Old Disney at Halloween time.

The film begins with a teacher telling her students the story of Binx and the Sanderson Sisters. With that in mind doesn't that mean that the people of Salem (film version) already know about the Sanderson Sisters? For that reason Binx probably thought Max already knew about them, after all, he didn't know Max was from LA and was new to Salem. Binx wasn't just transformed into a cat, he was transformed into an IMMORTAL cat, as viewers we were reminded of this detail ib the film when Binx came back to life after being run over by a bus.

Cool video! I think your theory is correct given what you were able to find. I actually haven't seen Hocus Pocus (big surprise eh? Haha) However I did finally watch Nightmare Before Christmas this past weekend! It wasn't what I expected but it was really cool! The animation is really great and I enjoyed the musical numbers. I will definitely be watching it again next year however I might add it to my Christmas movie list to be honest. As for content to add to the channel I think some Winnie the Pooh would be awesome. Shadow Cobra hahaha it’s ok! As long as you watch it someday 😊 also super happy to hear you watched nightmare! It’s definitely different but that’s why I like it! And it’s actually made using stop motion which is SO incredibly time consuming and so much attention to detail. Basically they had over 400 Jack Skellington heads and every time he changes his facial expression they put on a different head. And honestly I need to add some Winnie the Pooh for sure! I grew up loving this. Although it's cool thinking Alison is unknowingly a white witch, I thought the Sanderson sister called her a witch because she was attempting basic good magic, not because Allison was inherently magical. I thought anyone could become a witch in this universe if they went through the tasks to become one.

Binx is starting to remind me of Edmond from rock a doodle. Both humans who are cursed into cats but at the end there friends mourn their death And realize they are humans.

Your video is amazing. In Hocus Pocus, I do like Binx, because he is a wonderful cat. I do like the relationship that he has with Dani, because they do make a wonderful couple. I heard rumors about a Hocus Pocus 2 in the works coming sometime next year. I kept wondering if Binx is going to come back for the sequel.

I think because the main reason why he couldn’t speak is because he spoke the last time was 300 years ago before he turned into a cat and completely blame himself for sister’s death I think because he was trying to warn warn them before he spoke again not to light the candle because his immortal life for 300 years which when he died I think he was dying in happiness that he was no longer continue to be stuck as a cat

I believe both those points are wickedly on point. 😉 My question is; and maybe you can do a video on it this year: (my question is..) If no one knew what happened to Thackeray Binx then how did the legend become true? Did Binx communicate non verbally with kids or someone before in history? Did he somehow leave a message to someone? He'd have all the time in the world to do so being 300 years. But by that time he'd also be able to send a warning message about the candle. SO... was it Binx who wrote the legend? Could he have stumbled onto someone with a typewriter or something and typed it with his paws? Second. I'm guessing a part of that spell might've also been that he didn't need anything to eat to live forever until maybe after the candle was lit?! 🤷‍♂️ AH! BUT THERE IN LIES A PROBLEM! If most of Binx's spell wore off then why did the "death" claus of it not be broken until the sisters died? Was the fact they were alive the only thing keeping him alive? I guess so, for he says the spell was broken at the end after their death.

Although I am happy for Binx to reunite with his sister Emily and his family, and surely he can forgive his father for not realizing the cat is his son Thackery, but honestly it made me cry to see Binx die, it's even as sad as Bambi's mom's death, and Mufasa's from the Lion king. I always love Binx, he's adorable with CGI and realism, and he's better than Salem from Sabrina the teenage witch since Salem doesn't look real, look nothing like a fake animatronic robot puppet cat that Disney would never hire robot puppet cats to play Binx!

Yes, I think he communicated in some form. Most likely when typewriters came along he easily could've wrote it while someone was away or asleep.

If binx did tell His father and he was killed, he would just come back alive so maybe he did tell his Father Time and time again until eventually all of his family died out.

As an adult, I see one plot hole that could have avoided the whole entire movie. Why didn't they simply remove the black flame candle from The Shack in the first place. A black flame candle wasn't there, Max couldn't light it, and the Salem sisters couldn't have came back. I know there will be a movie if that happened, but you at least think someone in the town would have taken the spell seriously, and wanted to prevent the Salem sisters from coming back in the first place.

One of the many theories I present is that if he could talk and he did in fact attempt to tell them what was going on- they would never believe him and try to kill him…and even if they saw he never died they would be convinced that this was witchcraft and continuously try and kill him over and over again or lock him away

In addition to that, wouldn't they have killed him as well - just for being among them as a black cat (black cats back in Colonial/Pre-Revolution era America, were seen as Devil's creatures - or something of the sort)?
