Additionally, In the years after the formation of the Galactic Empire, Venator-class Star Destroyers were still in service as a capital ship of the Imperial Navy. Imperial Venators were repainted to remove the red markings of the Republic, becoming whitish-grey in color like their successor warships.

Because they were all scrapped by the time the rebellion happened. I want to know how hard it was during the time of the early days of the empire to get beskar because if you were able to make a chest plate and give them to those commando droids the Stormtroopers are human and morons the commando droids would mow them down in a heartbeat. It would take Vader to get rid of them.

Maybe in canon, but in the Legends continuity things were very different. Stormtroopers were actually quite capable, getting the drop on Leia, Luke and plenty of other main characters on more than one occasion. More often than not though, it always came down to incompetent leaders or a necessity of the plot that each character escaped, not necessarily a fault of the stormtroopers themselves.

The other reason is its much harder to hide with large ships like that as anyone with eyes can spot the very unique shape of a Venator Star Destroyer. Just as how easy it was to spot an Imperial Star Destroyer in orbit from the ground. And the cost of maintaining just one Venator wpuld be the same cost as managing an entire fleet of ships the rebellion would normally use.

Rebels don't have to win a lot of battles, they just have to make the empire winning so costly that the victory isn't worth it.

The empire was all about throwing the good after the bad though. They could keep going even to a physic victory because of their general attitude.

The rebellion turned a Lucar haul battleship into a flight school for pilots though. Could’ve been a mobile base to launch from. Almost 400 fighters possibly that has a lot of capability especially hyperdrive equipped. The venator is more a super carrier than a battleship.

One Lucre hulk ship could house the entire Rebelion, with space left over for Droid fighters & Bombers. It was that big & spacious.

You don’t just show up with a bunch of ships like it’s one thing to make an X wing or a Y wing or steal a Y wing. Not the easiest thing to do but possible and you can get away with it. You steal a ship of that size even one being decommissioned a ship of that size oh boy that’s gunna be much much much harder near impossible to get anything of size out there. Plus for a period of time before the star destroyers we’re all that we’re used and that took time to make happen they were in uses by the imperials just straight up. I think when the rebellion first formed they had to fight some imperials that still used those ships.

Even if there are still some Venators survive, I’m sure most are still under Empire control.

It’s kinda crazy to me that stock xwings can jump but stock jedi starfighters can’t

Mon Cal cruisers are larger and would require more people so I don’t think that is the reason. I think the reason is that most were scrapped by the time of the rebellion and there likely wasn’t many left
@Meodread
@Meodread 2 месяца назад
Well keep in mind when they started using Mon Cal ships regularly they also had access to more resources than in the early days when Venators would have made sense. Availability was probably part of the conversation but they also just don't really suit their needs. They aren't good hit and run vessels. The need for carriers mixed with battleship capabilities just weren't worth the manpower and resources.

@@Meodreadalso it was the creators of said starships (mon calamari) who joined the rebellion so they had the best maintenance crews possible for them......venators on the other hand had mostly clone crews and gaining them to join the rebelllion in appropriate nhumbers would have been hard
@Meodread
@Meodread 2 месяца назад
@@tome7998 well you could capture the ships and crew them. I really do think practicality is the best answer. You got hyperdr8ve fighters, you're doing mostly hit and run and cannot win a stand up fight whats the Venator doing?

It wasn’t the fact the venators were scrapped, the imperial star destroyer was made to hunt down targets and impose fear, the ISD has 60 turbo laser battery’s and 60 ion cannon battery’s, a venator wouldn’t last long against a ISD because the venator wasn’t made for shooting down ships of the same size or bigger its purpose was to combat the CIS use of droid fighters by carrying a heap of star fighters, a ISD would win over a Venetor 9/10 times and it all comes down to weather or not the venator has enough star fighters to disable the ISD in time to escape

Because the venators belong to the empire. They would’ve had to hijack one if there were any left around. Witch would’ve probably cost them other ships and men

They used some but not often they couldn't fight a imperial class star destroyer

Ships would be so old, where would they find parts during a war ❓
@Meodread
@Meodread 2 месяца назад
They used older. I think it's more just the Rebel Alliance didn't have a role for them that justified considerable upkeep.

Is it not because its because the writers didnt write it in?

Yes but that's a lame excuse so compensate writers usually add lore reasons I'd rather have a lore reason then "oh the writers didn't think that far"

rhat was not the reason, all the venator were scrapped for star destroyers and they were to poor to afford the fuel for a venator

Ironically enough, a refitted Venator-class, with its heavy focus on strike craft over raw firepower, would’ve been a much more effective capital ship for fighting the Rebellion than battleships like the Imperial I and II classes.

@@selunea404 Pretty sure the part with the Lucrehulks still stands. It was published after the Disney acquisition. If not then I do retract the statement. That being said you still need a story reason for why they weren't used. The whole the prequels came out later doesn't answer it as a story question even it is the production reason.
