Chances are the ghosts didn't bully Palpatine so much as screw with him in such a way that he was in a ridiculous outfit after the fact and Palpatine thought so this is what means to be a Sith and thaught that to Vader. And that's why Vader kept screwing with Lando, "put on this dress and bonit, where these cloen shoes and call yourself Mary, ride a unicycle wherever you go" I'l mean by the end Lando is ready to do all that crap just to get Vader to stop raising the stakes.

I find the fact that Palpitine might have been spooked by Korriband to be both hilarious and terrifying. I find it funny because he’s one of the most powerful Sith to ever live and yet he’s afraid of the ghosts of the ancient Sith, yet I find it terrifying because Palpitine was so powerful yet he feared them which shows just how dangerous the Sith Spirits really are. Even in death they’re still extremely dangerous enough to almost kill one of the most powerful Sith Lords to ever live.

The ancient sith would have had no use for any of the rule of two sith. The ancient sith believed in crushing their opposition with their strength and constantly proving themselves against the other sith. The rule of two sith focused on pure subterfuge. And limiting knowledge to keep from having any competition. They would have likely viewed any rule of two sith as weak and complacent in their knowledge and strength. And the throne for Vader was probably partly mocking and partly to encourage Vader. To show him not what he could have been but what he could be....if he had the strength, knowledge, and will to take it.

Empire's End was written during a time we all thought there was only one Dark Lord of the Sith at a time pre-PT. That DLOS was Vader and the throne was his for when he died like all of the other DLOS entombed on Korriban. If you weren't a SW fan during the 90's you don't realize we knew next to nothing about the Sith between Exar Kun and Darth Vader. Even the taking of a false name Darth Vader was thought to be unique to Anakin. I think trying to apply current knowledge to Empire's End Korriban is a pretty broad stretch of retcon.

Bane was a fool. There was more to Korriban, than just the Valley of the Dark Lords. There was the Valley of Kings, where the Sith Purebloods buried all of their Kings, including King Adas. Then there was the Valley of the Most High. High Priests and Priestess were buried there. Every classification within Sith society has their own burial grounds. There was over a billion graves, tombs, and crypts on Korriban. Lord Bane, Zannah, Sidious, Vader, and many others could have learned from studying the many, many holocrons left behind. Perhaps even learned some of the long forgotten Sith knowledge, like time travel or flying. Or liquidation. That's casting a spell to turn an individual or an entire planet into liquid.

As far as I know, there were only two Sith that ever truly accepted by the Sith spirits of Korriban as their successors. Exar Kun and Ulic Quel-Droma. They helped others, but only those two they accepted as their successors. In my opinion it was because of their point of view. In a way the Sith degenerated to wanting to destroy the Jedi, the Republic. From the Spirits point of view this was not big enough. Anyone remember what Exar Kun said when he freed Ulic in the middle of the Republic Senate? "The Republic is not even part of the plan." Yes, Kubn lost in the end, yes, he made mistakes. But he had a vision. Even 4,000 years later Sidius' 'Galactic Empire' didn't span the entire galaxy. The Sith of the 'Rule of two' era have their goals set far too low for the Spirits of Korriban. It also stifles the advancement of the Sith in general. A Master teaches his student to a point and the student is expected to find ways to kill his Master. But everything the Master knew and didn't teach is lost in the process. And Sidius is the worst of them. He sets it up so none of his students has even a chance to surpass him. They are his tools at best. Of course the Sith Spirits did not care for Sidius. You have to wonder. Maybe they influenced his ability to see the future to secure his downfall?

The sith will grant knowledge. But only if you prove yourself to them. At heart the sith believed in survival of the fittest. Constantly proving yourself against the other sith that would try to drag you down. The rule of two sith his in shadows and limited the number of sith to keep competition to a minimum. The ancient sith would likely view any rule of two sith as weak not daring to face true competition.
@TheZamaron
@TheZamaron Год назад
@@markcarpenter6020 Both orders have their own advantages. Rule of Many: The Sith were numerous and a constant threat to the Jedi and Republic, fighting rivals meant a Sith could potentially grow stronger, but it often meant you had to trust no one and grow strong quickly, or else those who hate you could try to kill you. However the downside is that with so many Sith, they could gang up on a stronger Sith and kill them. This meant only the strongest survived, but make enough enemies and they could easily ban together. Rule of 2: Downside there are only 2 official Sith and a small number of Acolytes, meaning the Sith had to remain hidden and often fight the Jedi only when necessary. It also meant when enacting schemes the Sith often had to use pawns and rely on others to get what they want without drawing too much attention, as if the Jedi found them out, it would not go well. Upside though few in number having 1 Master and Apprentice meant the Sith would be more patient, as the student had no chance of killing their master unless they learned enough. But this resulted in where the Apprentice was often powerful enough to fight even Jedi Knights and maybe a Master. The Master would teach the student, in time would come a test where the student could try to kill the Master and take their place. This meant that the student was stronger, and thus the Sith as a whole logically only got stronger and stronger, but it also meant the Master HAD to teach all they knew and be careful, for i they died nt by the student's hand then their knowledge would be lost.

@@TheZamaron while both have their disadvantages I think the disadvantages of the rule of two are slightly worse(just my personal take). I think the problem with the sith is the lack of any form of ethics. I mean it's completely possible to do good things for selfish reasons (example: building a homeless shelter to clean up an area and raise it's property values). And they have the same problem as the pre empire Jedi seeing emotional attachment as a weakness instead of a source of strength.(what could inspire more anger and hatred than someone who threatens a loved one).
@TheZamaron

@@markcarpenter6020 Sith lacking ethics is why they're cool. They are bad guys after all. The whole aim of the Sith is power, at any cost. @@TheZamaron infighting is intentional. It's to make sure the most powerful is at the top and weed out the weak. And that doesn't mean they can't have a form of ethics. @@e13kid I didn't say it would stop killing I said it would stop competition. With the ancient sith sith Lord competed against sith Lord in a survival of the fittest affair. I'm not saying the rule of two didn't have good intentions, but I'm saying it is far from what the ancient sith believed. Remember competition breeds innovation and evolution the only people the rule of two sith competed against were really the Jedi. The master had a monopoly on the dark side or as bane said embodied power. The apprentice seeks that power but it would rarely fall into their hands till the master stumbled. He didn't understand the Sith Code and for all his power and politicking, he was little more than a tantruming child who stole the name Sith and never earned the respect he demanded. Fun Fact: The earliest Sith? Didn't recognize a difference between Light and Dark sides of the Force. And the original Sith Code was a mantra of Will To Power and self-control. @mitchhaelann9215

The heart of the planet was literally a piece of space-cthullu, and the Sith Species (the original Sith) evolved from its leakage. The Rakata came much later, tried to conquer the ancient Sith and make them janissaries. soldier-slaves. The sith instigated a rebellion that toppled their empire, stole the secrets of FTL travel from them, and reverse-engineered the secrets of the holocron from them. That's right. the SITH mastered the holocron first, the Jedi stole that technology for themselves later.

Furthermore it is a shame we never got a revival of the Sith as a group in the sequal triligy it would have been so cool to see a young generation of Jedi and Sith go back and learn fo the ancient ways and try and revive those ideologies abandoning what was two obvious failures the rule of two and the hubris of the Jedi. This video sort of sparked an old thought I used to think about a lot when I thought about the OG movies. If I recall correctly Yavin 4 had dark side temples, which I believe the Rebels ended up using for bases. (Recall the dude standing in the tower thing in with what I can only call a 'speed gun' in the OG movies). But this always made me wonder, did/does any bit of lore go into if these structures are the same one. And if they are and old sith spirits are for lack of a better term 'dicks' why did they not mess with the rebellion when they are operating in said temples. Maybe it was some sort of pseudo endorsement of the Rebels, but only so far as to destroy Palp. I of course could just be trying to connect dots that aren't connected. Also I know that when the OG movies were made there was mention of what the temples were. It just seems like chunk of lore you would retroactively add in to add to the character of the world(Yavin 4 in this case). Great video as always! Also pardon spelling and grammar.

Check out the Jedi Academy trilogy, Luke Skywalker establishes his first Jedi Training Center on Yavin, and the academy itself is housed in the main Temple used by the rebels when they launched their counter-attack on the Death Star. It goes into that very topic, very deeply, and as it turns out there's an ancient Sith Lord haunting them. It's one of the first challenges the new Jedi under Luke Skywalker have to deal with, and the storyline is absolutely epic, as with most other expanded universe stuff it's vastly superior to anything we've seen from Disney.

And it makes a lot of sense. The Jedi force ghosts were great wise masters in the force and were still very much Jedi in the sense that they wanted to help and guide those who may be lost. We see that in Quigon and Obi Wan sharing their knowledge. Sith ghosts are also very much what they were in life: greedy, power-hungry beings who fought only for themselves. And so it makes sense that they wouldn't share their knowledge in the force with other sith. After all, the goal of most Sith was to gather more and more, but only for themselves to become more powerful, since power is the way they gain understanding of the universe. So, a sith seeking HELP from DEAD sithlords, it only makes more and more sense why that would be a mockery of a situation. A dark lord not only too weak to TAKE what he wants/needs (since it's "their right", as the ideal strongest being against any encounter), but even weaker to basically beg for sympathy and panhandle for what they pathetically couldn't achieve THROUGH THEIR OWN STRENGTH*. So... yeah, looking for sith ghosts basically seems like a complicated way to find someone who'll tell you: Lol, loser *points and laughs*
