Ichigo's entire life is him being a pawn. To Aizen, to Urahara, to Ginjo, Yhwach - hell, probably even the OG Soul King himself. Sad for a kid who believes he's fighting for his own agency, he's the world's biggest puppet.

it can be true, there was a time in series when Urahara had very strange vibe, as if he had some hidden agenda and it wasn't pleasant, but it shifted somehow to the "good side"
Honestly, I can see a followup that gets rid of the burn the witch saga, taking place right after Juhhabach is defeated and Urahara steps up mentioning how everything went to plan, before revealing HIS master plan, which played Aizen and Juhhabach to follow their plans, adding to the advancement of Urahara's own plan...
It is more like "for the greater good" philosophy . This is mentioned by Hiyori in TYBW arc , commenting that Urahara think everyone like pawn and she despised that.
No... actually, at this point in the story, Kubo was setting him up to be a villain. It is implied that Uryu got the hollow bait from Urahara's shop, but unlike normal hollow bait, this one was so potent that the number of hollows that were drawn to it were beyond Uryu's initial estimation. Urahara then conveniently shows up AFTER Orihime and Chad survive their encounters with hollows just to spill the beans on Ichigo, knowing full well at that point that Ichigo and Rukia had kept everything a secret (Urahara himself had helped with the occational memory wipes). He was ALWAYS watching them from a distance, and he could've saved Tatsuki much earlier before Orihime went through all that trauma of having to fight a zombiefied friend, he could've also saved Karin but watched Chad do it. And finally the Menos that Ichigo fought. He INTENDED for Chad and Orihime to go through those life or death fights as an experiment to test his hypothesis that the Hogyoku had indeed influenced them. Basically, he used Ichigo's friends the same way Aizen used Ichigo. The only difference is that somewhere down the line, Kubo decided to make Urahara a "good guy" in which case everything he had done previously seems like it was necessary for the story. Initially, it seems Kubo was planning on making Urahara outsmart Aizen and claiming the hogyoku for himself but Aizen was too compelling and so he just made it so Urahara only outsmarted Aizen for the good of Soul Society instead. Urahara went from possibly being against the system to now being a firm believer in the system (Hiyori even criticized this side of him in TYBW). Honestly, Kisuke works just the way he is... Gege wrote Gojo like this as well, he's "good" but there's always this underlying tension that at any moment he could just pull a 180 and it would be completely believable.
Not exactly. Gege fleshed out Gojo’s path with Geto. It would be against Gojo’s character if he turned evil. Gojo hardly manipulates people, he uses absolute strength to keep plotters at bay. Urahara is a master manipulator and not even really a good guy, he wouldn’t care if people died as long as Aizen is stopped. In comparison, Gojo would save as many people as possible even if it would strain him. At most you could consider Urahara a realist maintaining Soul Society’s system. They are very different characters.

Intelligence surpassing Mayuri, and Aizen, mastery of kido on par with Tessai, enough capability to be in squad 0, aside from being the real master of Hogyoku he is undefeated in all real combat even against himself.
@therealanimeisekai Ichigo is a hybrid of literally all species in Bleach combined, giving him insane potential in basically all abilities of every group in series. He has bankai, Quincy powers, Hollow powers because of White inside him, Fullbring and etc. Ichigo if left alone can scale into a strongest character in universe.
@@Vilotaahes not just a hybrid, hes probably the strongest possible hybrid in existence His father is a captain class shinigami from a noble clan, his mother is a pure blooded quincy and white is at least a menos class hollow or higher considering it put up a good fight vs a captain So ya man is genetically the strongest possible creature in bleach, even for a hybrid

I love how Bleach is basically Urahara and Aizen playing chess on Ichibei's world... while he is just chilling and thinking "ok, one wrong move, and I crush you all like ants"
I love the duality of Kisuke and Aizen. They are essentially the same person intellectually wise however Kisuke understood the importance of having the figure head that was the soul king vs Aizen letting his intellect and ego lead him to believe that he should sit in the kings chair
agree and disagree, Aizen is super smart but still not on Urahara's level and thats exactly why why Kisuke understands necessity of soul king. Of course personality is big part but still think that Urahara is way above.
@@mishel234 Nah not really. Urahara is smarter than him but not leagues above him. They're relative, aizen def has caught urahara suprised b4 but urahara has cauaght him off guard more. Its like the 1st and second smartest people in a class always competing to be the smartest or the best but always realizing eachs potential.
@micaellvascuradotoddyn2129 I said they're relative. Urahara and aizen are comparable to each other in terms of intelligence. I don't think either of them are wiser than ichibei, considering ichibei was labelled a war potential due to his wisdom.
Urahara definitely has to be one of my favorites. Aizen really planned everything to the tee and then Urahara just used that plan to get Ichigo to beat him
Kisuke is honestly the smartest perosn ive seen in anime, his actual intellect is scarily high and his ability to adapt to literally any situation is way smoother than yorouichii's kicks
It'd be kind of cool if Aizen's bankai warped his own perceptions to see how the passage of time plays out according to his actions. We're currently watching the world as it plays out but Aizen at any point can go back to when he used that bankai or allow things to proceed as they normally would.
Urahara even planned burn the witch. Really early on in the first arc when he talks about soul society he refers to it as the eastern branch. And now we know there’s a western branch
But aizen was the one behind Rukia getting deployed to protect karakura town, and if Rukia was aware of Urahara's whereabouts there's no reason aizen wouldn't be right?

Aizen thinks he's 5 steps ahead of Urahara but little does Aizen realize Urahara is 20 steps ahead of him while simultaneously playing 50 games of chess in his head while Aizen can only manage 3 games
Except this is only a hypothesis you can infer from retconned information because theres no way at the writing of this chapter did Kubo planned that far ahead. He didn't even know if the story he was essentially improvising would last in Jump past it's current or next arc.
Man if they have one more final arc and its Urahara as the main antagonist. Like he played everyone the whole time for his own personal gain, I think that would be sick.
...I mean, even when watching it for the first time it was pretty obvious that Urahara could handle it, but he was having Ichigo push himself because he knew Ichigo would be able to handle it... didn't really need to be a video, like he even told others to not help and instead just watch.
I'm doubtful about complete recall worldwide and people would instantly jump to AMD. I find it funny how it’s either he’s originally to be bad at first or who’s playing who for him not doing all the work. Even if he started out good and Aizen doesn’t exist. These moments are good opportunities for them to learn and handle themselves.
It wasn’t strange in the first place cause he kept hyping up how strong ichigo was and he even collected he friends to show them his power which made Chad and Orihime start training
