In this video, we explore the decline in electric vehicle sales and unveil some secrets that manufacturers would prefer to keep hidden. Despite technological advances and growing interest in renewable energies, the electric vehicle market has seen a significant downturn. We analyze factors such as the end of the early adopter phase, the purchasing priorities of the middle class, and other technical and economic obstacles that are holding back sales.
Furthermore, we discuss consumer expectations and how current electric vehicles fail to fully meet their needs. Through a series of critical points, from cost to functionality and reliability, we reveal why, despite their environmental benefits, electric vehicles still face significant challenges in today's market. Join us in this in-depth analysis to better understand what is happening behind the scenes in the electric vehicle industry.

Most of these points are completely wrong in Europe. Please specify that the video is only for the US market. Many European countries are way ahead of USA regarding EVs. Tbh they are fantastic and much better than ICE cars!

"Tbh they are fantastic and much better than ICE cars!..." == Keep driving. Eventually you'll find out(in hard way).

You do realise that European countries are a fraction in size compared to USA, so the distances you drive is very convenient for EVs in general. And just because EVs work in Europe doesn't mean that they are the global mainstream means of transport.

@@allgoo196 I've been driving an EV for over 2 years now... when will I find out what you are referring to? Sales of new EV's and PHEV's is almost at 50% in Denmark. And now that EV's are also starting to be cheaper to buy compared to similar ICE vehicles it is the final nail in the coffin. The future is electric and it doesnt matter what you say and do in America.

@@onsokumaru4663 yeah ok, so let's look at the Chineese market... the biggest car market in the world and comparable with USA in size. 43% of all new car sales in China are plug-in vehicles, EV's or PHEV's. The average adult american drove 41 miles per day in 2023 which is absolutely no problem in an EV. In fact most Americans don't even need to charge it up every day. Maybe twice a week at home plugged into your own charger. Much more convenient than having to fuel up at the gas station. It's not much different than charging your phone.

Not up to dafe on pricwa. Chevy Bolt, Tesla Model3, Kia EV6, are either under or around $50,000 ,

you should not count virtual discounts, Tesla slash their price with "potential savings" you still pay full price, government credits do not reduce your debt, you still pay full price, without saying the big finance charge you get from Tesla. Tesla advertise their cars for 29k, but in reality you are paying at least 54k out of pocket. Really did you get money from not using gas to pay your debt? you still making those up to1500 bucks of monthly payments for up to 84 months, you aren't getting a discount every month. Then why buying ev car that only gives you 60 miles like the bmw that you can only use it for going to the grocery store.

@@kaijen2688 the cheapest model 3 is 40650 before taxes with no addons not even a charger. you should never substract the potential savings, Or the government tax credits, that will not lower your auto loan at all.

Is actually 48k just before taxes. Is 72 payments if 605 + the 4500 down payment for a total of 48000 then add the sales tax. That's according to Tesla the cheapest model 3 they have without any add-ons.

"Why do electric car sales drop?" == Easy, consumers stopped buying.

American car industry wants gasoline cars to stay because America still have plenty of cheap oil and America does not want to pay EV patency to China, as American hegemony is more important than combating Climate change

Should separate Tesla EV and the rest. Tesla still sells great. Tesla is reliable. Tesla has good range. Tesla charging is effortless and available for any trip with easy to use and find chargers. Other EVs... Not so much

@@onsokumaru4663 I don't disagree. The momentum Tesla has needs to continue. Love or Hate Elon he is the reason EVs are mainstream, and Tesla has such a lead over everyone else. Too many companies designing by committee try to please everyone while pleasing no one. EV are not for every person or every situation. Let market dynamic sort out the need and get the Government out of the process

Many of these claims have been debunked many times over. Manufacturers are actively discouraging EV sales. Overpricing and underperformance are part of the strategy to slow adoption. Chinese EVs are actively being blocked because none of the main car makers would be able to compete. 90% of households would be perfectly serviced by existing range technology and the infrastructure is already in place because people charge at home or work NOT at stations like gas. The “top 3 barriers” are non existent. And as a consumer and driver of both ICE and EV vehicles, it is absolutely true that EVs require much less maintenance, which is why combustion car manufacturers don’t like them because they make billions on service and parts. This is nothing but propaganda.

EVERY SINGLE POINT IS WRONG! EV sale are down because ALL CAR SALES ARE DOWN! Due to high car prices on both the used and new market. Coupled with inflation and high interest rates, not a lot of people can afford a new car payment. The Chevy Bolt started at around 25k and with rebates you could get one for 16K. I've owned 3 EV's, 2 Kia Soul EV+ and now a Bolt EUV. I paid under 20k for each of them, over the 5 years I've had them. Maintenance was at or under 100 bucks a year. Car insurance was literally the same rate for the Kia's as the ICE counterpart, and insurance on the bolt is cheaper than my 2016 Equinox. About the ONLY points in this video that have a little merit are, yes EV depreciation is a little more, BUT that depends on the car. The public charging in the US is not great, BUT if you really want an EV you can make it happen. I have 2 friends that drive EV's that live in apartments and they just have to plan a little more ahead of time. Yes IF the battery pack fails, and IF it's not under warranty it may be expensive to fix. BUT most EV's have 8-12 year 100k-175k mile battery pack warranties, regardless of the owner. Plus there are places popping up all over that can refurbished bad battery for about 3-5 thousand. Also data show most EV's made after 2018 can expect at least 10-15 years before the battery drops to under 35% capacity. Also most people are not doing road trips on a weekly basis. 95% of all driving is commuting and day to day errands. The average American does 50-100 miles a day driving. You didn't need an EV with tons of range. My Kia's both got 95ish and I only charged them every 2 to 3 days. My Bolt gets 260 on average, I only change it about 1 or 2 a week. Oh and check the data fires in ICE cars are 15 time higher and 4 times deadlier than EV's.
