It doesn’t look like Frankie lymon or act like him! I know what he looked like and exactly his personality and this is far from it. Frankie lymon started off in a gossip group with his father and brothers. He was responsible and grown for his age. Worked at a grocery store to help his mom with money. Not all black people look the same and it is far from him at all. Frankie lymon had the old New York accent, he was a charming guy people said and very smart for his age. He was very mature, he was chosen in the background to be lead singer after they heard him in the background. It wasn’t actually because the original lead got sick! Slowly they started added his name and replacing the teenagers eventually. It was true to believe he was rejected by the end before he over dosed. Yet it doesn’t look like him this is the saddest part nor does it act like him. He didn’t swear every two seconds and did not act dress or sound like a ganster, life was much different then culture was different then. Frankie lymon was everything just watch him talking on the Alan Fred show of why do fools fall in love! Does this actor look or sound anything like him! I have related and loved Frankie lymon all my life I so badly wished I could make a film of him if I was able to, so excited to see a movie made of him only to watch it and be really disappointed. The endibn part of him was good I will say but they’re was a script written for him that was originally going to be used and it was pretty accurate but for some reason it never was used. I’m heart broken too never ever see a movie that could replicate his life again and now those who knew him will have to just try too imagine what his life was like, this movie doesn’t do it

They spent no effort in trying to find a Good Fit for Frankie as an actor! I love this actor he did good but he simply is nothing like Frankie lymon. I bet the person who choose this actor was white

I agree and he had two others Jimmie and howie! They all sang together in a gossip group his father owned as kids. Frankie worked for a grocery store for a short time to help his mother out due to struggle with money. Frankie doesn’t look like this actor or act like this actor at alll! He sounds different too. Frankie lymon was actually picked in the background to be lead and the original lead did not change because he got sick. They heard Frankie in the background and thought he had a really good voice so the studio decided to try him as lead and well it stuck and they slowly started to replace the teenagers with him as a solo act. Yes he was a solo act of his own, might have been successful as an adult if they only had a plan for his emerging adult future which they didn’t! So when he went solo his voice was changing this was a killer for him. So they started also giving him a lot of cover songs less effort in trying to give him new material! Probably partly due to lack of sells. The managers at the time controlled a lot of things and were much worse then they are today! It was an ugly business and it’s either you could sell and sing or you couldn’t. Not only that but his drugs got worse with his herione. Once loved audience now glared at him with shame and I’m sure this made him feel terrible. Watch his Lip sycing as an adult , he loves being on stage, even after the tradgic look of his attempt at recovering, smiling such great personality, I’m sure he noticed those faces, in a way his life was lost way before he over dosed, much like Karen carpenter, his soul was lost the moment he lost that stage, too me that’s even greater then just his overdose of him finally too me giving up. Whether he ment to do it or not, we all know he was very sad that day, I know him over dosing was the only realist part of the whole movie

Not very true! I’d say the over dosing was probably the realistic part and little Richard lols but this doesn’t look like Frankie or act like him at all. They also barely showed how he started in the beginning and the lead singer actually didn’t get switched because he was sick, That’s not nessarily true, they actually heard Frankie in the back ground and thought he had a really good voice and tried him up front and well the label liked it that way

Half of the scenes in this movie wasn’t true but this movie is the best

they just skimmed the surface,... look at the original footage uv the group on you tube. he was really just 13-14 yrz old when he started & died by age 26..... he wuzza talented baby who had interaction with wymen who shudd;v been hiz older sisterz... the portrayal uv hiz yte agent iz aaccur8 & definitely hadda lot 2 do with hiz downfall.... he supplied booze & drugz 2 Frankie when he wuzza teenager.... i wud luvv 2 find hiz grave so i could pee on it....there ABSOLUTELY wuz no 1 like him ,heez the 1st.... errybody frum Sam Cooke, Michael Jacson, James Brown,Prince et al wer n-fluenced by him..... remember they did stop a national t.v show b-cauz yte girlz wer crazy 4 him atta tyme we wer looked at az blatantly sub_human...he sang,danced ,wrote & wuz ultra-charming I wud luvv 2 make a movie about him but a little more accur8 espeshully regarding hiz age.....he hadda cherub face cauz mostuv hiz big smashez wer released b4 he wuz 16.....
