@@wilfredv1930 let me explain why I think so. Kane was already in his 30’s when Bayern signed him for £90M which for the calibre of player he his is somewhat understandable. However he was on the last year of his contract and we know he wasn’t going to renew hence Bayern could’ve negotiated better in that regard but it’s the wages that’s the problem. Kane is earning above £400,000 a week which is crazy for someone who is 30. I know Bayern needed a striker but look at all the strikers they could’ve signed this summer: Osimhen, Vlahovic, Dovbyk, Watkins, Gyokores, Guirassy, Openda, Zirkzee, Scamacca, Joao Pedro, Sesko, Jonathan David, Santiago, Gimenez, Simon Banza, Boniface, (most of these players can get up to 25-30 goals of Bayern if they were to play for them)etc. it’s understandable that a lot of these players don’t have the same ability as Kane but if one is spending that kinda money on transfers+wages one probably should expect that player to elevate them to winning the UCL, Bundesliga, the Pokal, etc. it’s unfortunate that Bayern have been declining for some years now but in my opinion value for money I don’t think it was the best move they could’ve made

⁠@@nabeel426 I think you’re mostly correct on the financial aspect of the transfer which safe to say, didn’t make a lot of sense. However, it could be too early to say that he won’t elevate them to winning the champions league as they got to a semi final this season only losing out to Madrid even while having a so called disastrous season, and unfortunately occurring at the same time as Alonso working his wonders at Leverkusen. It’s also important to remember Bayern are still one of the most structurally and financially stable clubs in Europe, so the money won’t make too much of a hole left to fill. If they win the champions league with Kane it’s safe to say it will be a very successful transfer even if it takes a couple seasons. Although Kane is 30 now, if you consider his style of play (not relying on pace) his career could extend to his late 30’s assuming he keeps fit like a Zlatan or a Modric. So Bayern have accounted for the age factor there.
