@@aswin2813, Pain Threshold reminds you that sometimes the consequences of many types of pain can't be fully healed from. Conceptually speaking: Harry put his immense soul into the ex-something and it collapsed into a black hole that consumes everything that goes inside it. His curiosity, his poetry, his energy, his unceasing determination, and all of his love went into (or is going to be pulled into) a gravity well where even forgetting the cause of said gravity well doesn't make it go away. To heal from this spiritual damage, emotional damage, and physical damage will take time and professional work and a bunch of family to keep him on the straight track.
He's happy to be sad I guess, he has his emotional turmoil and it gives him ability to live and feel in his insane artistic dynamic. I'm not claiming I understand his personality fully (it's ENFP okay), but it really seems to me he's just very dramatic persona, he live life like it's theatrical performance, and he perform for himself if no one else. He invents roles on fly, big and small, deep and shallow, and already has his collection of petty roles (masks) in form of those bizarre copotypes and political types, (which he all used at one point or another way before the start of the game plot), and he has grand role - Harry Du Bois, and he want it to be interesting role, intriguing, ambiguous, bizarre, but also sympathetic. He constantly trying to spice life up or fuck shit up or both, it looks like self-sabotage, it *is* self-sabotage, but it's all serve his story, because what character would invoke empathy if they didn't suffered in life? So if he's sad, just let him be sad, he will be okay in the next scene, playing with kids or questioning dockworkers or discussing race theory or getting into gun fight with just his two 9mm finger pistols
@AtticusKarpenter I certainly haven't read everything but harry is so far the saddest/most tortured person I've ever seen portrayed. The dream sequence at the end is absolutely horrifying to me. It's worse because it's real. There's no way the writers could make stuff up without at least some experience of this themselves.

I'm not 100% certain on the speed, but I'm pretty sure alcohol is the exact opposite of what he needs, given that it actively makes it harder to get it up (you need increased stimulation/want to achieve the same level of engorgement).
@@ZgermanGuy. It's not as absurd as this summary made it sound. Conservative postwar culture was extremely prudish and bigoted, which was directly related to work culture and work ethics. A lot of sexual hangups had to do with pressure to conform and perform, while at the same time being burned out from work.

I quit tonight. A decade's worth of cigarettes, intermittent drug use. I'm only 24. Drowned in debt due to it, coupled with heartbreak, and my third world country's economy going to the gutter ruining my job (food delivery) but I'm lucky to have a mother that cares way too much to let me rot. You'll do what you want ultimately like I did, but trust me it aint worth it giving yourself a reason to be worse today or in the future. Best wishes man

I've never encountered this combo. So cool! The game's really a masterpiece in terms of replayability and exploration (I completed it twice but I min/maxed a lot to get the most)
