Just trying to get in the swing of things again.
Sorry, it's a quick capture (I lost my editing software), but I got a new camera finally!
Why do I make videos?
To paraphrase Sam Harris, I want my atheism to fade into the background, and I want to merely be a person who destroys bad ideas wherever he finds them - whatever form they might take.
I don't have time to watch very many videos AT ALL these days, so I don't have a lot of ideas at the moment (most of my past videos have been direct or indirect responses to other videos and comments).

The problem is that, no matter how hard you try they won't listen :P I suspect it's because the truth many times actually IS harder to understand than just clutching to a personal god. Btw being European I'm surprised by how big this atheist/religious conflict is when checking youtube. Religion is in the background here for those who care but there's hardly any friction with science or politics. Hell, a priest here first came up with the idea of the big bang refusing to link it to religion.

Haha my name is Maxwell. I stopped unsubbed from Manixthepirate and amazingatheist but still watch Thunderfoot, Nonstampcollecter and Potholer54. When you said you're interested in debunking bad ideas I immediately though of Potholer, he tackles all sorts, not just christian related ideas. Also wanted to say that it was because of the little promo you did for instant run-off voting that I decided to help the campaign in the uk for alternative voting. So thanks, it's a shame we lost though.

yeah you should make videos, I find it very hard to find people on you tube making videos who are both unpretentious and articulate.

Great to see you back and nice to see you thinking about new ways for atheists to self-identify... Destroyer of bad ideas is certainly valid. Dennett has said many many who self identify as Christians are no longer believers and just haven't come out yet... Speaking of coming out, you and Maxwell make a gorgeous couple. Btw is there a back story on your seemingly hyper-patriotic shirt? Just curious.

@RabidApe I went to school for electrical engineering and now I own a painting company so I do semi skilled labor as well. Check out my channel... I sometimes post videos about evolution but mostly vlogs for fun.

Good to see your doing well. Spong is a good read. In his book Jesus for the non religious he basically said that the majority of modern men himself included are in actuality athiests to a traditional god. His God concept is the basically the conection of all that exists. That said, I think he is trying to balance moral tradition and modern thought for the average man. So the religious tone he takes makes sence. Any who looking forward to more rabid ape. Stay groovy.

If you don't want to be restricted by the Atheist label, say you are Anti-Sophist and that generally makes you an atheist. I say I'm Christian despite being rational and Anti-Sophistic. Lots of people from any point of view use sophistry to make really bad ideas or not-reality-based/ abstract ideas seem rational (IE: Determinism and its Christian cousin Calvinism... basing reality on what can never be known). I hope you get time to post more. I love the huggy cat by the way.
