Concerning harpy reproduction... This is from the 2003 sourcebook, "Manual of Monsters", for the "Warcraft: The Roleplaying Game" (Sword and Sorcery system), page 55: "There are no male harpies. They capture males of other humanoid races and force them to mate. These unfortunates are often hobbled to keep from escaping... given the circumstances, seduction is out of the question. Harpies resort to magic and potions to ensure cooperation, and employ their captives until they succumb to disease and malnutrition... at which point, the males become food for the roost. In lean times, harpies can lay unfertilized eggs that become copies of the mother."
Blizz is a bit too kid friendly these days to have something that dark in the lore. The Orcs for example raped a lot of women during their rampages, resulting in people like Garona Halforcen being born. There's no reason to believe there aren't plenty of Half-Orc / Half-Something walking around Azeroth as a result of this rape wave. But Blizz is like "LALALALALALALALALAICAN'THEARYOU!" when it comes to that part of the lore. I'm legit surprised they haven't just retconned it to Garona being the result of nice guy orc dating a draenei lady with an affinity for the color green.
@@randalftheblack2572 They could've said "well achktually orcs would fine the other races DISGUSTING" since they literally come from another planet ,this is also supported by the fact one orc in the wc3 campaign said that the quil boar were prettier then then humans which implies that they view humans like we view orcs (ugly monsters)
@@complex7061 They could. But using our world as an example, rape in armed conflict isn't always about "wow that girl was pretty, I want her". It's also a type of violence where the perpetrator just dominates someone. Dehumanizing the population of your enemy allows a human to absolutely horrible shit to them without feeling bad about it. That process is even easier if it's an alien I think. And the Draenei were victims of rape at the hands of the orcs. And appearance wise Draenei resemble humans more than orcs in facial structure.

The Gnolls and the Murlocs came from wild gods, Troggs are titan constructs corrupted by the old gods, Kobolds came from Troggs, Satyrs are night elves corrupted by the Fel, The Defias Brotherhood is a stonemasons guild rebelling cause they weren't paid for rebuilding Stormwind after WC1 and they killed Varian's wife.
I've said it before and i'll say it again: I want a full raid on giant Venture Co. HQ skyscraper ala Shinra HQ in FF7. A giant robo receptionist, floor managers, accounting and the board of directors. So many fun things they could do with it.

I read in the wiki that the Horde hates centaurs so much that they flay them(you can see centaur skin carpets in Orgrimmar , settlements in the Barrens and other places) but they aren't skinnable in the game

Harpies do, indeed, Mate with male captives. The Mage Order Hall in Legion kinda confirmed that, i think it was Aethas that got rescued from them. Naked, i think.
With respect to the Venture Co. in BFA. They do show up on mechagnon island from time to time even though that happens after you killed their leader in the Motherlode dungeon. So they are still around.

Honestly I always though it would be cool if the monster races like Gnolls, Ogres, Centaurs, Harpies and Quilboars were playable. If not with horde then maybe as either a third neutral "faction" thats not really a faction per say, or maybe as just neutral race ala Pandarians. Would love the hell out of playing a Gnoll :3 The fact that Horde which in vanilla, and the OG hord before the events of Warcraft RTS was this badass faction of races that would usually be treated as evil in most games but not in WoW at that time and yet you could create your character as one of them did have a lot of appeal. Cow people, Horse people, Pig people, Dog people, Birdwomen..... damn this is almost like my Warhammer Beastmen army right there :D
I don't understand why the hell they adding new troll races when you already have a troll race while you really could put more effort for an entire new race and Panda's... Should be removed honestly thats what started to kill WoW immersion of lore and many quitted.

What about the illegal dwarf expeditions, the hostile Kul'Tiras strongholds and (imo the most important in the lore of Durotar) the Burning Blade (including the rest of the Shadow Council)?
It's genuinely pretty funny that the Horde's, or at least the Orc's reason for being in conflict with the Centaur and Quillboar basically boils down to "We invaded and collonized their land"
In like, MoP when they butchered a bunch of old dungeons, removing a ton of bosses they did seem to add a bunch of nonhostile civilian Quilboar to the Kraul, combined with the fact that a very boring version of Agamaggan's ghost can be talked to as early as Cata I think it's implied they';re getting less insane and bloodthirsty.

headcanon time: 1.) classic harpies are the children of aviana, while the ones in legion are the corrupted night elves. 2.) harpies are the female counterpart to the male satyrs.
The Horde comic set during the Cataclysm had weird handsome centaur who kinda-did-kinda-didn't blow up the old horde Stonetalon Mountain village, the one that's still there but had no quests in Cata.
Ravens irl (Magpies being the most popularly associated) do NOT like shiny things usually. They tend to find them frightening as they not a naturally occuring thing typically, so they tend to stay away from them. There are exceptions of course as individuals do not always fit larger patterns but still, the ravens stealing shiny things myth is just that, myth.
The Venture Co area in Stormsong has Hobgoblins and Ogres there, which really underlines what a gigantic waste it was to make Hobgoblins just Ogres with pointy ears and noses instead of their old WC3 concept/RPG art.
