So Zul Farrak: "Ehhh we need some fuel for our car to cheat in a race so murder a "god".... and some human guy stole an item, but then he was captured by trolls! So we murder the trolls, to get the item, stolen by a human, who had nothing to do with the trolls, back!" Somehow I see, why the Farraki sided with the Thunderking and the Zandalari. We really fucked them in Vanilla pretty hard, for NO reason.

We used to have a wonderful nerd that would spend time explaining the lore to us before the start of the raid whether we wanted it or not. I loved it lol. Celegorn if you see this. You were appreciated bud. -Anomanderis

These are so good and well done. Very informative! I've played since vanilla and I admit I had no idea what we were doing in these places besides leveling and farming loot. I love the lore in the non dungeon game, not sure why I never twigged who these people we were randomly killing were.

One can make an argument that the Keepers in Ulda were also corrupted, as the once you kill them and talk to the virtual construct on the pillar in the the room with the Disks, he seems happy to explain the lore and situation, and likewise after a small questline you turn the disks in and have another long convo with a different construct at the pillar outside Uldum. Those constructs seemed to expect (what would become) the mortal races to eventually enter both places, so the Keepers who tried to prevent it seemed to be going against the real and true intentions of the Pantheon, by allowing the mortal races to eventually flourish and learn about their true origins. Though...on that same point, the Ulduar Keeper Algalon seemed to have a very different take on the mortal races than the pillar constructs. So perhaps the Keepers in Ulda, Ulduar, Uldum, and the rest were still faithfully carrying out their orders...old god corruption aside.

I remember getting my firs to mallet of Zul Farrak and I gotta say it really was one of the most fantastical experiences for me. The idea you have to finish a ritual on a troll ruin on the other end of the earth to get the summoning item was just so cool back then. Like back in the day. Doesn’t sound mystical any more.
