Get over it! The whole world has involvement in that type of behavior many years past, Romans, Germans, Turkey, Spanish , Italians, French, Chinese , Aficans, etc etc , But the point is the Irish have such an agenda against the Brits that they are blinded to everything else.
No. People do know how bad the empire was and I appreciate how people like McClean feel. However if we're expected to understand how people like the Catholics of Northern Ireland feel then understand how the working classes of Britain feel. The poppy isn't a symbol showing supporting for the British Empire or the British Military. For the working classes it's to remember of the wasted lives fed into the war machine. When the Catholics of Derry see a poppy they see soldiers killing protestors. When the average Englishmen sees a poppy they're thinking of the manipulated 16 year olds that were sent off to die in a pointless war.
@@BingleFlimp No some of us respect all the poor souls who lost their lives . The Irish republicans who were still under British rule during WW1 who fought too. Not all Brits like Glasgow Rangers and their British flag waving. Don't see British clubs in England with all that stuff at most games. Only at Chelsea all that Blues Bros crap.
As a British soldier, 1970 - 1993! Paratroop and regiment blade I don’t mind his views at all. I was at Londonderry on Sunday Bloody Sunday 1972 and it’s obvious he is not going to wear a poppy coming from that area.
He’s very much loved in Wrexham. Absolute legend that has the same views as many of our fans and vice versa. Obviously we don’t have all the same views but he’s a brilliant player for us and the best sh*thouse we could have ever hoped to have
People need to think about James McClean as someone with integrity, with the strength of conviction, to go against the approved narrative. He has made his case about the poppy and stands by it. Contrast that with the gormless compliance of his fellow professionals, who all comply with wearing the poppy. Another interesting situation is the almost 100% compliance in bending the knee for BLM. James McClean. A man of integrity and who can think for himself. Thanks James, top man!
Even as a Brit, I understand his distain for Britain/England. What I can’t get behind is that he’s perfectly happy enjoy the spoils that come along with playing in England (or EFL to be exact, I’m aware Wrexham is Wales). Just comes across as hypocrisy personally. I’d be like me joining a Just Stop Oil protest and driving home in a Hummer afterwards Nice video bro, cool hearing an Irish perspective :)
I just found out about this guy last night from a video of that song about him. Im american and dont know shit about football. This guy fuckin rules though.
as a scot i respect him for standing up for what he believes in, i really like the lad and was a proper good guy in person, love the republic 🏴❤️🇮🇪
Must say didn't have a lot of time for James McLean but watched him on late late show he has his beliefs and that's fair enough thought he came across really well seems like he's grown up alot so don't think he deserves the abuse and hate we have our own beliefs doesn't make them right
the most hated in world football??? one of the most hated in England today, probably, but in the world, not even close.? also not the most hated in England of all times, even Backham was really hated for a bit back in the day.
@@EverGameStudios definitely by England once upon a time....had some vertical jump beating shilton lol but then scored the greatest goal of all time... I'm from the north in a nationaliist area like James and people screaming at him never grew up where we did....get behind the reasons for his decision and understand the grievance with tolerance instead of shouting insults....their lack of understanding is their downfall
@@FootballAlways opinion as a fan is different from someone who has had a chance to play in a professional setting. A guy whose career highlight is that he played for west brom is calling declan rice overrated on live TV. Do you know how stupid that sounds?
@@14_Phoenixbecause he is. He’s an alright player, sure, but not the world beater the media and English fans make him out to be. When someone says x person is “overrated,” they generally don’t mean “they’re crap”
He is a spot on footballer and whatever club he plays for gives it 100% no matter what abuse he gets from idiots if you can’t understand an respect his decision in what he believes in your just a idiot pay some respect the guy is awesome
The problem with the Irish is they don't understand that the English people don't care about the governments involvement in other countries, It's about respecting the country you chose to live in on a personal level instead of going in with a terrible attitude. But I would doubt he has the brain cells to understand that. @@user-bh8vw2fj9i
We get a few sectarian Blues Brothers bigots at Chelsea . I can't stand them. One Christopher Hodges , not so much now would stalk Celtic F.C. pages and retweet stuff under his Chelsea/ Ger account . Until he was called out . Horrible bloke. Another one Steven Barrett called him IRA scum on my friend's Shari Stamford 's Facebook page. After he clashed with Levi. I have some Irish Catholic roots. The bigotry gets on my nerves.
Because hes a junk player that acts like he's a Ryan Giggs or something. Thank God he's retired. That is the first thing a new Ireland team needs, watch how they get better without him (i know they cant get much worse but just watch)
