Ita a Jeep thing, you wouldn't understand! All jokes aside, the folks who actually use their Jeeps for Jeep things continue to buy vehicles that are built in a way that makes them relatively uncomfortable on road and relatively unstoppable off road because they can take them places that most other vehicles could not. To he clear, we are talking about Jeep wranglers for the most part, CJ, YJ, TJ/LJ, JK/JKU and JL/JLU, and some of the older cherokees like the XJ. Most real Jeep people don't consider the electrified versions either, they haven't put any charger out in the woods yet. Death wobble is a common problem with every solid front axel vehicle, not just jeeps. Loose or worn front end parts, generally tier rod, track bar or ball joints will cause it. A solid axel 4x4 with a low range transfer case and a relatively small footprint, with axels/tires extend past the chassis and body that does things your standard SUV cannot accomplish, even many of the other capable 4x4s, like say a Toyota Tacoma or 4Runner for example although they can keep up, with their independent front suspension they're just more likely to become disabled under extreme conditions, especially in highly articulated situations, they're also more likely to have less than 4 tires on the ground at any given time so they have a higher likelihood of losing traction in situations that having all 4 tires securely planted would be more desirable if not more comfortable for those in the vehicle. They're great vehicles off road, so if you intend to go offroad then a Jeep is a top choice seccond to none. I missed my 06 LJ so much I replaced it with a 18 JKU. I'll always try and own a Jeep, I like getting out into the woods and Jeep takes me there.

Yeah, I don’t think of luxury when I think of a Jeep. Or highway daily commuter. If you want that I would suggest bang something else, and I wish they would just stick to the basics. All the electronics, traction control stuff, electrical computerized stuff….just learn how to drive the vehicle. Having that stuff won’t make you a better driver ( off road) or anywhere else. You have to feel it and not get distracted by all the other stuff. Could make the cheaper without all that stuff too.

I bought a 97 Sahara in 98 and still own it. only issues was the radiator, 5sp tranny rebuilt and exhaust manifold cracked. It still has the oem starter and alternator. The most amazing /Unbelievable thing is after 220,000 miles... the front end has NEVER been (needed) aligned. Honest... I've installed several sets of tires and rotated over all these years and each time the tech say it doesn't need it. I am not an avid off roader but I do work infrastructure so powerlines is the most action it sees and easy trails. I think It'll be pass down the family tree.

I just bought my first Wrangler, a 4-door Willys with manual window, stick, and V-6. The biggest selling features for me were the posi-rear end and the roll bar. In my opinion, all Jeeps should have a posi-rear end and a trailer hitch with the aux. switches!

After owning a JK for 10 years without issues I traded it for the newest JL model, well, 4 months later, I got the death wobble so I went to the dealer to find out that I got a recall so they fixed it free charge since I was under warranty then 4 years later my Jeep Wrangler is running like a Champ!!!

First is the look. They got it spot on. Same thing with the old Land Rover Defender. Then there's the Jeep lifestyle people buy into. Are they perfect modes of transport? No. But as with the LR, they don't need to be. Just a pity it's under the Fiat umbrella now, as I don't think it's ideal for reliability & quality. But that's just my opinion.

The new LRs and Jeeps are too complicated since the new Defender and JL came out. Have an 18 JK, no issues, could have got JL but had too many sensors and stuff that will break.

I have a 2005 TJ Sport that l bought new and plan to keep forever. It’s reliable, tough and they simply don’t make them like this anymore. Everything now is plastic, cheaply assembled and complicated. I can work on my Jeep myself. It fits my lifestyle perfectly. When it needed a new top l bought one and put it on…same with the bumper, the O2 sensors, etc. I do all the maintenance myself. You can’t do that with new cars anymore.

There are 2 kinds of Jeep owners. The ones that keep the vehicle stock. And the ones who modify the Jeep. I bought a JLU Sport S Altitude last year. With the full intent to transform the axles and suspension. The Wrangler has so many accessories available .

Because Jeep makes the Wrangler an icon for women. They are the LV bags for ladies. When a vehicle becomes a fashion accessory and so cute, price is secondary. Look at our town’s high school parking lot, it is like a fashion show for Jeep Wranglers, all sort of color are there.
@DZ-cm5xw
@DZ-cm5xw 5 месяцев назад
Also, if you don’t modify a JL wrangler, it is reliable. I have two along side with a Honda. Jeep has put a lot of efforts on Wrangler, while they short change their other models, they put all the goodies in the Wrangler. Wrangler JL has aluminum body and magnesium alloy tail gates. Their 4xe system is more sophisticated than other models. The grand wagoneers are jokes unfortunately.

The Jeep Grand Cherokee, Compass and all those overpriced models are the ones I would never buy. Although they are really nice, great fit and finish. I never heard anything good about those as far as reliability. If I were to get a Jeep it would be a wrangler or gladiator you know what some would call a “real jeep”. Something you gotta take off road and get it muddy once in a while.

@@Businessvidsofficial "Lawrence" is likely a case of Sour Grapes -- he couldn't afford one anyway. Most critics of Jeeps are just clueless parrots as they know nothing about them personally, yet keep repeating what other clueless parrots say. In reality though, today's "classic" Jeeps (Wranglers/Gladiators) are the best they've ever been. As for me, my 2021 Jeep Gladiator (Rubicon) has been fine in the almost 3 years I've had it. Would buy another Gladiator in the future IF I ever want to move on from this one as it's the Top Dog when it comes to serious/off-road-focused 4x4 trucks -- and being in the mid-size segment can even go where bigger trucks can't (but they couldn't keep up anyway). My Gladiator is also a smooth-riding long-distance road-trip vehicle as well -- and my Daily Driver. ;-) -- BR
