wow what a great coincidence. he was suing boeing for defamation, which would have brought more details of the whistleblowing into discovery. boeing sure is lucky this man was so suicidal.
Hey Atrioc! I'm an engineer at an aviation company (can tell you privately if need be haha) and have worked directly with both Boeing and Airbus and would love to talk to you about some of the differences between them and some things about QA and such. Let me know!
@@foibrcurrently in the middle of a BS in CS, what do you think of the current job market, im scared shitless of when graduation comes and i have to find a job. I have an intership as the IT guy of a small startup but im the most knowledgeable tech guy in the company so im learning nothing, its just for the resume at this point.
I work at a competitor to Boeing and lemme tell you brother, we are pogging so hard. They stole all our engineers some years ago too, who would've thought they are so bad L bad ratio L sucks to suck L + bald
I see that you commented on a previous vid about how a fully automated plane is multi decades from being reality. What besides regulation would cause that? I’m assuming ultra rare occurrences like fuel starvation, and maybe takeoff/landing but I don’t know shit about shit.
@@onkarlallyi think saying besides regulations is taking a large leap where that is likely the main reason there hasnt been such large strides in the direction of automated planes
@@onkarlally a modern plane is basically already fully automated in all parts that matter (it can fly itself, it can land itself, it can detect when there's something wrong and change course or do a emergency landing and stuff like that). eVtols, which are supposed to be the new helicopters, were designed to have NO pilots whatsoever (take into consideration that some of them are being marketed as "urban solutions"). the main big reason why self-flying aircraft are limited to drones and this kind of stuff is, to my understanding (and that is due to maybe not having that much contact with many people in this area) mainly due to regulations. we like to be very controlling when it comes to aircraft operation in case the software fails or something goes wrong with the programming, and as far as I'm aware, FAA, for instance, only allowed eVtols to fly with a operator on the ground conducting the flight. a good example of why we take that measue is shown on that video "The Universe is Hostile to Computers" by Veritasium. be aware that some approvals by authorities can take up to 10 years, and then there's a whole process of keeping said approval updated and the Type Certificate (like a "can fly" certificate) on-going.
Just like General Electric. Outsource everything, maximise shareholder value and only have sights on the next quarter. They fail upwards until they cant @@dmitriyrasskazov8858
pilot here, pretty interesting fact that boeing has been sued multiple times in the past for paying their employees less than federal minimum wage and keeps doing it because the fine is cheaper than paying their employees more
Random question but I just got my private license and also have a degree in finance. Would you recommend becoming a pilot in the long term over finance?
I work as a structural engineer for spirit aerosystems, the sub contractor for boeing and man, whenever something happens, the whole office is always talking about it
they have had ai planes for awhile now, it's called autopilot and is capable lifting off, flying to destination, and landing all on it's own. the faa has such a hold over the air ways that making an ai fly a plane was super easy.
Stopped updating my phone, got an Android that's lasted for half a decade now. Just gotta stop em from getting overloaded with constant updates that flood your storage with useless sht. nevermind misread planes as phones my bad
@@smallbutdeadly931definitely, everyone should be updating every month because if not google (or apple) literally tells everyone how to hack your phone and what the vulnerabilities where in the security buletens so it's insanely insecure
tbh i had an iphone for 9 years, saw a great deal for a brand new iphone14 and upgraded recently, the guy at the store told me it was the biggest generational leap he saw in a decade. The worst is i don't really like iphones but with the whole societal pressure i just grabbed one anyway. Anyway they can last a long time if you don't mistreat them
I do like selling puts on margin, your broker is not gonna let you sell naked puts/calls without sufficient liquidity in your account, but with margins all of your money could be in stocks that you actually like and you can still sell a naked put on margin, and because you are selling meaning you actually make money in that transaction, that whole fee thing atrioc is talking about doesn't apply since you haven't spend any money.
i dont wanna be an asshole and typing this comment is punching the air, but it is so crazy to me how much of atriocs clip / financial advice is like, just common sense... like ive seen 4 different people ask him, should I pay off high interest credit or low student loans first, others ask should I try this get rich quick scheme of taking on lots of debt to make money, and people seriously asking about "diamond hands will nvidia always go up is this enough to sell". no, just do a calculation one time and pay off whatever costs the most. no, if debt made you rich fast everyone would be rich. no, if holding nvidia made you rich fast we would all be rich just take your wins. clearly crypto is not a good idea because you cant beat the banks every single time, and you should build toward a safe and steady future. like cmon guys, live in the real world. it lowkey makes it harder for me to watch the just chatting streams which used to be my fav part, people asking him like financial advice and just not trying to think on their own at all...
i just want to hear him talk about glizzies again and not want to hear the same brain numbing advice on "yo guys please lets not do something stupid we saw on tiktok" and sorry to say but if you need atrioc to tell you 27% interest on credit cards is bad, you are not going to learn from asking atrioc anything.
credit card apr is dependent on deals and card, but some users who have really bad credit can only get 27% apr. generally credit debt is 20% monthly which is horrible still, so obviously you should pay that over a 8% student or a 1.5% mortgage@@user-cp9id1mj8b
2:19 most planes ARE 90-95% flown by a computer, pilots are more of a safety measure at this point. A few friends of mine are pilots for different airlines, CONFIRMED 🤝
Well true pilots mostly there to input command for auto pilot and taking off and landing, tho i belive auto pilot can do take off and landing as well except in harsher conditions
I mean this constructively Aedish, but the timing of when the comments are shown on screen needs to be improved. It's becoming an unfortunate trend across many videos you edit. Example: unrelated message at 6:57
hi! so you’ve probably noticed a difference in how it is now versus how it has been previously and that’s because atrioc now uses a plug-in to put chats up live! so as much as i wish i could improve this there’s not a ton i can do. sometimes i’ll still add in chats that he doesn’t pull up on stream, but if he pulls something up on screen it’s baked into the vod :/ hope you understand! i always appreciate feedback :) -ædish
not quite AI, but yes they added a computer control called MCAS to correct the stability of the aircraft. This was fed using a single angle-of-attack sensor, which failed causing the loss of the two aircraft, coupled with the fact that this system could not be overridden and pilots were not told about it.
My dad was a pilot for like 15ish years. Ironically planes are almost entirely already controlled by computers. (at least it was 15 years ago when he was a pilot) Landing and taking off were the only parts where human input required. My dad says he has spent more time in TSA then actually flying plane. I can only imagine the amount of computer assistance has increased by then
Don't feel bad. I told my dad we should mine / get bitcoin in 2013 and he told me it sounded very silly. I said at least get me a few old workstations so I can try mining some, and he said "what are you gonna get, a bitcoin a month? That wouldn't cover electricity.." (we didn't pay for electricity) lol. He noticed bitcoin again when it was at around $5k, Every time crypto goes up now he asks me what do u think should I buy? 🤣
