The Fender Rhodes has got to be one of the best modern musical inventions ever.... you sound great and your ad libs are killer! I'm hearing some good song ideas, and I don't even play keys really. Gonna try these progs on guitar. Really hitting my mood right now..... Gotta go back and digest the theory a few more times…

It sounds good, it's agreeable... but the comment doesn't say anything specific, so they can bot it under every video, and it's inoffensive, so if you don't think about it, you might not even realize it's a bot.

Would be nice if you used a MIDI keyboard tool to display the played notes on a keyboard on screen. Much easier to see what's played than figure out fingerings... Tons of channels use these on YT. Open source possible one: Virtual MIDI Piano Keyboard

Ahhh … yes! What you say is soooo true … we start from going minor … then … later, we suddenly go Major … and it’s like the Sun peeks thru … on a dark cloudy day … Instant Optimism …YAY!!! there is Hope for a better day…( or … the other way around works too …start Major , the get darker like you did here.) This works great in film music too … Thank you very much - Open Studio & … Adam Maness …

Dear Adam, and other Open Studio devotees, can you advise me how you got this fabulous-sounding backing track? It sounded so good. Also, I absolutely loved the mention of the chords that bring about reflections on life choices and looking out of train windows and thinking about high school sweethearts. I laughed with the recognition; there is nothing like delicious, wistful chords . . . Thank you so much for your amazing videos.

2:30 THANK YOU! If it can’t be felt, I mean-what’s the point?! It’s why Jordan Rudess-as talented as he is, annoys me completely. He’s all runs and speed and technicals. He doesn’t move me to listen. Only impresses me with technique. Also, on another note, I really connect with soloists who speak with their instrument complete sentences and don’t just play as many in the passing keys as they can. Like they have to play every note of every passing chord. That’s not improv, that’s note quotas.

This is pretty cool. There is a very beautiful short piece by Ravel called Prelude in A Minor, most of it is in A Dorian, but at one point it goes to G minor 7 and it's very effective. I thought it was just a random thing he came up, with but now I know that he wanted to play a chord from the G, but in A Dorian it would be G Major, but he didn't like that, so he borrowed a G minor 7 from the A phrygian mode. Did I get that right? Do I understand the concept? And you mentioned Clare De Lune. D flat major to F minor to E major. Would you say that the E major was borrowed from D flat Aolian?
