One of my frustrations are shifters that take up console space. I am not a column shift purist, I just don't understand taking up space that could be a cup holders or storage space with a shifter.

Removing rear ac vents is absurd. Any truck I've ever been in a feel like the need more ac/heat venting to the back but they're always lacking because trucks don't have the same interior shape and components as say an suv that can provide more venting.

I'm still wondering WTH was GM thinking eliminating 12 volt accessory outlets? I have 5 high use items that need it (trailer TPS, rear trailer camera monitors, portable air compressor, air mattress pump, and UHF/ VHF travel radios. Yet, I have way too many USB outlets and even 110 Volt outlet in the console that I have never used. 😡

One mistake I hear Ford is planning to make is removing the keyless entry system. With it you can COMPLETELY empty your pockets say at the beach. No risk to lose your keys and wallet. No need to dip your phone in the ocean. I hear people say let Ford take the keyless entry away, I can use my phone! Your phone would be better locked in the truck than at the bottom of the ocean!!!

I would be surprised if they got rid of keyless completely, it may be different than what it is now, but it is a hugely popular option.

One of my biggest complaints with modern trucks is the absurd height of the bed side walls, and bed height. I buy a truck to haul things. (imagine that?) Having to climb into the bed to get something sitting on the bed deck is aggregating.

On my 2016 F-350, the front AC vents were round, and you could rotate them to direct the air in any direction. On my 2023 F-450, the larger 12-inch screen resulted in reducing the size of the AC vents. Also the center console is smaller on the newer truck.

GM doesn’t allow CarPlay to take up the whole screen, where Ford does. That’s one of my biggest annoyances. Just tried another GM a week ago and it still doesn’t do it as far as I or the dealer could see. That said. GM cameras are better, hands down. I also like the video rear mirror you can’t get in a ford. I also like the volume and channel/track buttons on the back of GM steering wheels. Ford and their better seats. Ford has their pro power system. They really trade blows in a lot of ways. If only we could get them to come together and build the ultimate truck…

Ive owned two vehicles with a sunroof. The first one, i thought it was awesome for about 15 minutes until i changed direction and the sun was shining right on my face. Almost completely unused after that. The 2018 Highlander we have has a sunroof which I bet hasn't even been opened 10 times and we bought it new. I would never option a sunroof on a vehicle if I had the choice. I'm sure im in the minority here, but I don't want these TV screens in my vehicle. A simple button radio does the job. I still prefer my analog gauge cluster too. All that computer stuff just adds to the cost and will eventually cause significant costs for repair when it fails.

We’re happy with our f-150 eco boost 3.4 with max tow package tows our rv trailer weight of 6,140 and length 26 . It does a really good job towing. I wouldn’t tow any heavier or longer. It’s just me and hubby. No need to buy a 2500. The ford gets good mileage for daily driving then my 4Runner . Eco boost does a great job compared to any half ton truck. My son towed with a Chevy 150 and traded in for a eco boost and felt the difference.

Does anyone know why manufacturers don't offer air ride seats, such as what are used in long haul trucks, in their F450 & F550 models? I would think that it would dramatically expand their user base and would be appealing to a lot of people who downsize primarily to get a better ride. Yes I know it's probably a cost issue (and I would happily pay more to get it) but offering it as an optional accessory seems like an obvious benefit.

@@jbontra2 I appreciate your reply,, thank you. It's good to learn that Ford may have addressed this matter in the 450. In my own case, I'm considering a 550 because I want a flatbed and knuckle boom crane on it because I'm all on my own with a farm to look after, and I anticipate the need for multi-state travel where I don't want my truck beating me to death when I drive all day. My needs probably don't mirror many other customers so I'll probably have to end up taking what I can get. Thanks again for your reply. 😃

it's simple, stuff like outlets and ac vents are deleted to save money, same with 4 pin trailer connectors. shift levers are redundant these days, most transmissions are shifted electrically. ram has the best solution for that with the shift knob. forget about sunroofs and 120 outlets, give us more 12V outlets, in the front and back.seats. 120 v outlets in the bed area for small power tools

I was a Ford guy (40 years) but wanted a 1/2 ton truck diesel. I switched to the GMC AT4 with the baby dramamax solely for the diesel motor. My '23 Silverado Crew Cab LT with a 3.0-liter and standard bed does not have any 12v outlets and I can't say that I have needed or missed that option. Cords hanging all over the dash bug the hell out of me. I do use my truck as a truck on a fairly regular basis (although not for work). My only negative comment about it is the quality of the non-Bose stereo system, especially when compared to the audio options available from other OEMs. I do enjoy the sliding rear window option and don't feel that I miss the lack of a sunroof after not really using it in previous vehicles. I purchased the LT trim specifically to get cloth seats as I did not want the LTZ grade leather but would have taken the High Country grade leather except that package also required painted bumpers - not a fan). The cloth seats wear and look good IMO, but they are a little stiff.

I like the unlock/lock buttons of Toyota which has two touch points you unlocks when you grab the handle and locks when you push the outside touchpoint as opposed to gm's 1 button. I wish there was a way to turn my car from running to remote start without having to turn it off. example would be if im running into the store and need to leave the dogs inside the truck. but truck is more secure. cant shift into drive without the key.

Makes loading and unloading a breeze! The thing that bothers me the most about the truck is that I seem to have a difficult time visualizing where the front corners are in relation to the things around it. Never had that problem in the Ford or my old ‘01 Ram 2500. What I miss about my F-350 more than anything is the 360 degree cameras. It was also a very comfortable truck for that size of truck. I currently own a 2014 Chevy Crew cab 1/2 LTZ. It has 207k on the clock. As I am shopping for a replacement, which will be used, I am also poking at the new trucks just because it is fun. I must say that if i was going to buy a new truck based exclusively on interior and seat comfort, it would be a Ford F150 Crew Lariat with the top line add on package. Also, the B&O sound system is far superior the the Bose system in the GM. I agree that the latest GM trucks have lost seat comfort. Up until May of 2022, I spent 26 years as a GM service advisor, and starting with the 2019 pickups, I received more customer complaints about seat comfort, and I had to agree with them.

Living in the northeast one thing which is a must have after having it on one vehicle is a heated steering wheel. I’m a gm guy but have owned some fords and what keeps me from going to ford is a mid to low level truck from gm comes with a heated steering wheel where as with ford you have to buy atleast a lariat and spend so much more than a xlt which is more in most peoples price range, I know you can add it with forscan but I really don’t wanna tear apart a brand new truck and add all kinds of stuff and potentially have warranty issues if something goes wrong and the dealer blames it on adding and programming parts not originally equipped for the vehicle

Comparing my 06 Nissan Titan to my 17 Expedition EL the biggest difference is in serviceability. The Titan seems to have been designed with the notion it would require service and repairs in mind. For example there is a drip tray to catch and direct the oil runoff when your changing the filter. The Ford by contrast seems to have been designed without any regard what so ever for serviceability. The oil change is a huge pain with almost no access to the filter. The positive battery terminal is a part of a 350$ harness that requires pulling the front diff to replace. Those are just a couple of examples. As a result it will be the last Ford I ever own.

I hate console shifters in trucks. So much so it was part of the reason I went back to a HD. Much less the electronic one GM went with that wont allow you to shift into neutral with out starting the engine. You talked about GM removing the 12v outlets already. It's annoying, but a minor gripe as its easily fixed. One thing that GM fails at is fuel tank size. That 3.0 might have good range with a 24 gallon tank. But one huge miss is if you buy a half ton with a 6.2 engine. GM only offers that same 24 gallon tank. I had a 1500 ZR2 and my range was typically only about 300 miles unloaded. Put a trailer behind its a joke. A comparable F150 like a Tremor can have a 36 gallon tank. With the regulations, Its next to impossible to just add a larger gas tank. Diesel NP, Gas is another story. FWIW, both my 22 1500 and my 24 HD have rear vents.

The thing that Ford does that the other manufacturers don’t do is Ford doesn’t charge you a monthly fee to use the Ford app. So you can lock or unlock your car or truck from your phone. You can even start you your truck from your phone with the app and it is a free feature. We bought a Toyota Highlander you get that app feature for free for a year. Then you have to pay a $15 dollar monthly charge to be able to have remote access with you phone and other features like the map assist or some music package to get the remote start and door lock feature. We just wanted the remote access from your phone and not anything more than that. I don’t know any other manufacturer that lets you have access to those features for free not even the Luxury manufactures let you have them features for free. I hope Ford continues to do that!

It's decades past the time when auto and aftermarket manufacturers should have come up with a smaller uniform format for accessing electrical power. And the truck manufacturers should include a separate, empty pre wired fuse block with 15 sockets and a relay socket for each fuse. We put electrical accessories on trucks. Why make it so damn hard? And how about some blank grommets for getting wiring into the cab? Four would do nicely, one on each side of the fire wall and one on each side of the rear cab wall in the gap between the cab and bed.

My biggest frustrations with the big 3 auto makers is the lack of quality that they are producing. Also the prices for these trucks are way too high. I own a 2021 F350 Dually Platinum Powerstroke and it is in the shop for major things all the time. Our 2023 Bronco Outer Banks isn’t much better. I have friends who own GM and Ram vehicles that are experiencing the same thing. I actually wish Toyota had a one ton Dually because I would trade my F350 in a heart beat. They need to make quality the number one thing along with reasonably priced vehicles.

Ford has never had good infotainment systems going back to the days of Bluetooth. Even their old am/fm stereos were garbage compared to everyone else. I’m currently waiting for lane keep assist to become a standard feature before I buy my next truck. Every Hyundai and Subaru comes with it standard but it’s a premium option at Ford or Chevy and the systems aren’t half as good. I’m not buying another car or truck without it. And no I’m not talking about butt vibrators that tell you you’re over the line or the crap systems that bounce you back and forth inside the lines until they can’t keep up anymore… I’m talking about the ones that will actually drive your vehicle and hold it in the center of the lane.

All manufacturers are obsessed with carpet on the floor. It's not my living room, its a truck, why make me spend hundreds of dollars on top of an overpriced truck for special floor mats to protect the carpet when they know how to put rubber of vinyl flooring? And the new broncos only let you delete carpet on higher trim levels

Anyone who only owns one vehicle and goes on frequent road trips when not towing has to think about fuel economy. I'm currently thinking about cutting back from two vehicles to one, and if I do, it will be an important consideration. The problem is, if you also tow a lot, these tiny 23 gallon fuel tanks in the GM and Ram 1/2 tons are a major pain point. I like the new 3.0L i6 in the Ram for towing power + non-towing mileage, but may end up getting a F150 just for the 36 gallon tank.

All I think about with this technology is how the truck can be disabled from a simple little thing that will break eventually. I don’t think we need it nor do I want it. Also, why don’t you start doing videos on all the recalls and reliability issues with these newer trucks. We could talk about Fords recalls or all the other issues. They are having with their engines and transmissions that they won’t recall. It’s not even get into Toyota and they’re blowing up engines and transmission and their tundras and Tacoma. I have had from a 91 f150 to like 2000 Ford trucks and have like those so much. My dad had bought a 91 F-150 that was used but whoever bought a brand new special ordered it. I'm not a fan of I need a trucks from really the last 5 years I can't stand all the technology in them and to me all this power that they produces to me is fake power cuz it's all computer generated. I'd rather have a truck especially if it's for pawing just to have the very basic electronic items and not all these extra sensors and electrical components cuz that's all going to fail one day and they cost an arm and a leg to replace. I drive a 2022 international 28 ft box truck for work and only 18,000 miles on it in the oil pressure sensor went out and the first year driving it when it got real cold in the Midwest I had to let it high idle for 5 or 10 minutes for the transmission to warm up just enough to move the truck 50 ft.

Such a Ford homer. Totally forgets Ford doesn’t have auto 4wd like GM HDs and Ford now has fake front hubs. Ford still uses a CP4 fuel pump, the whole truck has a crazy amount of quality issues power steering leaks, ac compressors, HO motors, transmissions, and electrical issues just to name a few. Death wobble is still a problem with low miles. No rear camera mirror, rear seat in The ford is extremely uncomfortable because of the tall floor. Pano sunroof leaks and works for about 2 years and greatly reduces headroom. GM has a much bigger bed inside the fenders, Cameras are horrendous quality on the Ford compared to GM. Don’t let the facts get in the way of your Ford fan boy love

You know what I always heard, you put your money where your mouth is. I paid at or above MSRP for both my 2023 GMC Denali, as well as my 2024 Ford f-450 Platinum. I think both those purchases have earned me the right to give a fair and honest evaluation of both trucks as I see fit. Your comment however appears to contain loads of what you accuse me of, and that's being purely a fanboy of a brand. Everything I talked about in this video is my opinion based off of my personal experience as an owner of both trucks. I absolutely love the GMC, but the issues I have with it are personal issues that I feel many people likely struggle with. Ford's not perfect, far from it, but until I experience a problem that poses a significant issue for me using it as I want to use it, I have nothing negative to say about the truck YET. Being a die-hard fan of a brand is not a bad thing, but being fair and honest about how you use that brand and if your favorite brand poses problems or issues, that's where you need to be ethical.

Auto 4WD is nice but not a must-have. CP4 not an issue if you don't drive an emissions-choked diesel, but yeah, everyone knows you swap that out of your Ford asap and GM and Ram don't have that issue. Death Wobble has been less and less of a problem as time has gone on. IFS has its own issues. Cameras are definitely better in GM but it's not that big of a difference. They both suck at night. The Duramax is about as solid as you can get for a diesel but GM gas engines have had a lot of issues (though not quite as many as Ford's). Don't know about this lack of rear seat comfort due to high floor, I guess if you're 6'5" or something but I've had a broad range of people in the back seat of my Ford and no one's ever complained. Transmission issues in Ford have been rare and the lifter/cam issues in the 7.3 were way overblow (kinda like the oil burning issues in the GM 6.6). Ford seats are extremely way more comfortable and that's a big deal for me. Have heard people say the GM seats hold up better but I've never seen any evidence of that. Nothing online about people's Ford seats falling apart and needing to be replaced after 10 years or something. Ford providing the larger fuel tank with the long bed is also a huge plus for me, especially with the gas engine. Pano sunroof only leaks if you don't clean and take care of your truck. No widespread reports of issues with that. Did I miss anything? You talk like GM hasn't had about as many issues as Ford has had, and that GM's feature set is miles above Ford's but that's simply not the case. All of these trucks are very close in overall quality and reliability, but for me, Ford had more of the features I was looking for, in particular for my use cases. Funny that you accuse Big Truck of coming off as a Ford fanboy but you sound much more like a biased GM fanboy by comparison.
