I commend AronRa for trying to educate the theist in evolution, but he wasn't listening. All he was doing is interrupting AronRa every chance he could get and preach.

How Aron has the patience he has is beyond me.

I'm 7:45 is and I cannot stand this guy. He's ignorant and just parroting apologists. Pretty sure he's never attempted to understand anything outside of what he's told in his local church.

Something I noticed when I asked if anything could change his mind was that since he has had "a supernatural experience", thus nothing could change his mind. When I was a salvationist, and new-ager, I had that too. My baptism is one of the most emotionally beautiful experiences of my life. When I was a member of the cult that urged people to "die before you die" I had occasional experiences where I felt high as a kite through meditation alone. These emotional experiences is what made me swap between faiths. What got me out of them was coming to terms with that reality, even though it hurts sometimes, is still worth living in rather than endlessly trying to escape from through highs. On a sidenote: If you're reading this, Aron Ra, thank you so much for helping me see that. You and Professor Dave, in the conversation on the line, helped me see that.

The dude must have yelled Aron's name a million times, mostly while he was not listening to Aron's answers to his questions. When you know so little yet feel you can debunk all the rest of science it is just amazing. My favorite was "Take a goldfish and put it on land for a million years and see if it evolves into humans" Wow, just F'n wow. I did this. In 1 hour it stopped moving. Day 2 it began to stink. Day 3 it evolved into maggots. Day 4 POOF! A person appeared! Really it did! I don't know how you can stand to speak with these people.

Mike: "I didn't learn anything, i took no biology." that much is obvious. i took minimal biology in high school from science class, that was enough to convince me that it is a fact. i may not understand most of biology and specifically evolution but i got enough of a basis to understand that it has happened, is happening, and will continue to happen so long as there are populations of organisms.

You can hear Hovind inside Mike’s head, barking “Evolution can’t show how a pine tree evolved into an elephant!” - And thinking, because of his incredible insight, that he is a smart guy who has won the argument.

It's so frustrating that creationists always demand that evolution be demonstrated in a way that evolution does not allow for.

His argument is analogous to him claiming that only his hometown exists, but other towns, like Los Angeles, don’t - because he can walk to his town hall, but this Los Angeles place is just a myth because “nobody has ever walked to Los Angeles”. You try to explain that technically he CAN walk to Los Angeles, but it’s a long trek, which others have done in the past and we have their historical accounts. Plus we’ve got localized accounts done by many individuals about most of the places in between, along with a road map giving an overview. He smugly retorts that he can walk to his town hall in half an hour, and demands that you walk him to Los Angeles - across the whole continent - IN HALF AN HOUR. You gamely start on the journey, and you manage to get him across his town line and over to his local county seat, show him the county courthouse, and so forth. You drag him along to the county line and show him that the road keeps going on into the neighbor county, where you assure him there are other towns and another county seat, and other counties beyond that, and eventually a state capital, and a state border, and other states beyond that. You warn him there are major landmarks like the Mississippi River and the Rocky Mountains that are tough to walk over, but it’s still doable if you know what bridges and mountain passes to take. The terrain and climate is going to change a lot along the way. But eventually you can get him to LA. But by this point he’s getting tired and complains “I still don’t see Los Angeles. I already proved it doesn’t exist by walking you to town hall. I haven’t seen any of these supposed “terrain changes” or “climate differences”. You’re just trying to push your world view on me!”🤦‍♂️

The superchat where Milwaukee Atheist, an actual Bible scholar, gave Mike a suggestion for a book to read by another actual Bible scholar to which Mike replied "I don't know what they want me to do with that" damn near killed me. I can't take a sip of coffee around this guy without almost choking to death. If you tell someone to read a book and they respond "I don't know what you want me to do with that," the only conclusion I can draw from that is that they don't know how to _read a book._ How can Mike say such a thing with a straight face and not immediately die of embarrassment? I would actually think this guy is genuinely illiterate if not for the fact that Aron apparently found him because he'd left a RU-vid comment. I grew up with people just like Mike. My girlfriend's biological father is actually a guy named Mike who genuinely doesn't know how to read, so this was particularly hilarious to me.

Mike admits to having no education on biology, I feel this because my school sucked and I didn't learn things during it that most people would have learned. I learned most of that stuff latter on, and am still learning. Anyway... so yeah with zero education on the matter he said that he has read "books" but does not name any. He admits to not having read anything scientific papers or scientific books on the matter (correct me if I'm wrong). He then proceeds to think that he knows without any question that evolution is taught to lead people away from god in a vast conspiracy of some sort that for unknown reasons christens are part of as plenty of christens and Catholics are fine with and even support evolution. Mike is a great example of the Dunning-Kruger effect. He wants AronRa to prove everything but Mike has nothing he could prove. He asserts without understanding and feels that he has won even though he has no idea what he is talking about. He looks pretty mad when confronted with facts. His reactions smack of a young person trying to get ice cream when told "no". Overall, Mike has no idea what he is talking about, lacks any logical thinking, has no scientific understanding that I could tell, and thinks he is right.

As a side note with snake evolution, in Australia, we have a few different species of snake interbreeding that were traditionally adversarial to each other with the changes in venom that includes seeing as I've personally see hybrid brown/black snakes as well as browns interbreeding with taipans

When I started watching I never intended to watch the entire two and a half hours. Now here I am two and a half hours later, and I watched it all. My head really hurts now, I really need a lot of whatever Aron was drinking.

In the beginning Mike is asking "how did evolution produce the first man and a woman that can reproduce?" The answer is "there was never a first human, man or woman." Every creature ever born is what its parents are.
