Now I'm binge-watching YOUR videos, because I'm just waiting... waiting for delivery... I love how it feels to ride a trike! It is better than a bike. I've got a flatfoot Electra to take to the store. But with a recumbent, you can go slow--you can tour. I always liked pedaling and started with pedal boats. Then I got a Funcycle and it was fantastic, but after wearing out a fleet of them with my grandkids, I found out they are illegal to ride on the streets where I retired. Plus, RA is screwin' with me. So I got a Schwinn, which is fun with the pups for the frequent festivals in our town, but no comparison for going a distance. Enter RU-vid. I don't recall how they came up, but I saw them and realized that recumbent trikes are the logical next step. So I binge-watched trike equipment videos until I found the perfect trike for my triple constraints. I'm awaiting delivery now of my Spike 380.
I ordered a Catrike 559 last week and will be riding it because you inspired me Sylvia! Can't wait to take that baby down the coast highway through Carlsbad and Encinitas. Woohoo!
Tom, when I got my 559 I had problems climbing the hills on the Razorback Greenway. I read about and ordered the Lasco crankset from Utah Trikes and it gave me the gear inches I needed. I also got one for my Dumont. Hope this is useful info for you. I've also watched a bunch of California videos done by "dregerclock" and the Trike Squadron. Interesting.
I ride a trike because it is fun it gets me out and It helps keep me fit. Loving my Catrike Trail.plan on riding from Cambridge Ontario Canada to Winnipeg Manitoba.
Nice video Sylvia! Good to see Steve Sussman who I’ve only spoken on the phone with or emailed. He actually called me out of the blue recently. Of course I recognized you in the group shot you did with your drone. TOT looks fun. Will give serious thought about attending a future one. Thanks for your great videos.
Thanks, Drew. It was fun riding with you and Francine! I have never done a video like this one before. It was so fun to make I'll have to think of more questions for the RR and next year's TOT.
I ride a trike because I'm car-less by choice, it takes me farther more comfortably and with more stuff than my traditional two wheeler. I also don't get pain and numbness in places my two wheeler will give it to me before I get thirsty enough to grab the water bottle for the first sip of the ride. I must seem more friendly on it. People wave more.
I have the same experience, Thomas. I think buying a trike is one of the best investments I've ever made. Trikes seem to make people smile more. Thanks for watching!
Thomas, I've watched a bunch of videos done by Graham Williams who lives somewhere near London, UK. He rides both trikes and a Velo. You might find some helpful info there.
that was fantastic loved it. You're doing great with your productions keep it up.go turtle power.the song was perfect for this video, thanks for sharing.fan from Canada.
you might ask what kind of horn do you use or what kind of flags do you fly or what kind of lighting system do you use. the main one is why did you choose the trike that you chose.
I think the general consists is that riding trikes are just fun to ride lol now I know all I see on majority of your videos are older people ride them, I’m 31 and I’ll be 32 on the 25th of Jan, I don’t see people my age riding trikes idk why because I think they are so fun too!
Yes, I really want to see younger people riding trikes but the price is a deterrent. I'm glad this older age group this age group has trikes. Trikes keep everyone young. Trikes are also so much more fun, comfortable and safer than any other kind of bike. Happy 32nd birthday!
Well, dregerclock, your videos have inspired me too! Between you and Sylvia, I knew I HAD to have a trike. I just love my Catrike Trail, and it folds up and goes into the back of my Jeep. I show this video to my friends who ask, "Why'd you get THAT?!" Then they understand.
Ha! I just told a post from Tom Day about your videos... I really, really enjoyed watching your videos. I've got plenty of "footage" of the Loop System around Tucson and I just have to learn some video editing. You'd think being retired I'd do that, duh. 8-)
I hope cars don't hit the rear wheels, I have a trike too but I'm yet to ride it because cars are scary and they're a danger to themselves and bikes/trikes
Yes, I understand Catherine. The most important thing is that you feel safe where ever you ride. It doesn't matter if others feel safe it only matters how you feel. Start on bike trails and paths.
@@TravelsByTrike I took my Trike out yesterday for the first time and it kinda swerves to either side I kinda have to fight with the handle bars to keep it straight, I crashed a few times already 😅 will it get easier?
