Battlefield 2042 has grown a lot recently but why and why are players sticking around and playing for longer? Let's discuss using the MTAR and shredding on the snow map. Leave a LIKE and a comment, thanks for watching.
Always loved the large scale battles that the franchise offers. There are so many memories you can make in different areas of every map. It's not perfect but it's probably my favourite infrantry vehicle combat game
I actually cane across BF3 with my son 13 years ago, had no idea that it would become my most favourite game, great interactive social game with friends and having fun and laughs together, the most satisfying thing is taking down other players giving me that natural high. Always liked war games and I prefer the way BF franchise have developed their games. Keep the footage coming Jack fantastic coverage mate 😎👍
@@Arifeen. My son and I had no idea what we where doing, going around blowing buildings up was funny to us during conquest 🤣 until we met recruiting clan members, they gave us clarity and we started playing the objective. Playing in a clan certainly brings out one's competitive nature, I enjoyed clan scrims and the social interactive conversations, watching rare outstanding players was special. So far I've played BF3 - BF4 - BF5 and now 2042 on PS4 certainly seen the format differences with PS5, the difference is night and day lols
Battlefield is the only multiplayer shooter that I feel like is actually engaging from just a sense of fun. Call of Duty each year increasingly feels like it's trying to force itself upon me to be the one stop shop for any gaming experience, and that's exactly what drove me away. After all the recent changes, I feel like the game is genuinely focusing on the parts of Battlefield that made it special rather than trying to chase trends. I even kinda dig the way the specialist and class system work now because I feel like I'm making a way more active decision about my role in the game. Idk Battlefield just has this certain spark that I've yet to see another shooter replicate, and I've played almost every battlefield-like game under the sun.
@IndelibleGlacier I would say games like Squad miss me on the moment to moment gameplay. One way I'd describe my enjoyment of battlefield, is that I would be more excited to play a more action movie, teamplay heavy battlefield, than a more realistic hardcore battlefield. I'm not a fan of sitting in one place, I wanna play the movie scene.
@@indelibleglacier219 squad is a game made by armchair commandos for armchair commandos, if i want to play something "realistic" i play insurgency sandstorm
Breakthrough is tough for me because each match always feels one sided...if its attack or defend, it always seems that one side is greatly outnumbered by the other...not sure if its a balance issue or just me, but i find it difficult to play, granted its still much better than conquest
@@james.telfer Cobra grip if u stand still and shoot, LWG grip if u strafe a lot while shooting, BCG grip if u want like 50% of the benefit of both Cobra and LWG grip.
I have been a huge player since BF 1942 and always will be on this franchise. Keep up making these videos, sir! I enjoy watching them and your commentary is fun. 😊
I think my answer is a mix of everything you said in the video. It’s fun, I don’t have to sweat every game to have fun/do well, and it’s probably the most stable and fun BTB (big team battle) based game. Battlebit is fun for its own reasons and this is fun for different reasons.
I never stopped playing 2042 but I didn't play it much for the first year, maybe once a week. Once they did the update to specialists fitting them into classes a lot of my BF buddies started playing it again and now we're back to playing it every night again. It's not the best BF game nor close to it, but it's still a BF game and offers gameplay that no other shooter can do. BattleBit was interesting but too big, my squad didn't have an impact. 32 player Rush and 64 player Conquest is the perfect balance of large scale feeling and still being able to have impact on the win.
You didnt play battlebit for long because you would have seen 64 vs 64 and 32 vs 32 servers. The bigger player count is awesome in their version of breakthrough.
But bigger is better, and no battle will ever be fought with 32 soldiers or something lol. Really they need two multiplayer categories to satisfy both Battlefield playerbases: Battlefield Big - with hardcore/realism focus, and Battlefield Small - with casual/arcade focus.
Battlefield is unique, that's the reason i'm still playing. Going strong since BF2 on PC, played every installment thoroughly that came after! Btw your mic is fine, Jack!
I think I agree with most of those points as well. No SBMM, the overall conquest environment of infantry/vehicles, and the fun overall chaos. I honestly haven't played BF2042 for a few months. But seeing all the updates and your videos Jack, make me want to go back and play it. Once I finish TOTK though. I watch Mint Blitz, Lets Game it Out, VLDL, and Critical Role
It's much improved...I played a lot a couple months after launch. Didn't pick it up for about a year. Just started again last week on S5...it's actually pretty great now. Took long enough.
Been playing BF since the Codename Eagle days (remember that?). I just love the mix of infantry and vehicle based combat. It's a bit more forgiving than the run and gun games like COD. 2042 isn't the best in the franchise, but DICE have done really well with improving the game compared to how it was launched. Was the same for BF4, BF1 and BF:V tho - dodgy launch but got better - will they ever learn? In terms of weirdly interesting RU-vid channels, I love watching Hoon's Coffee - a guy in the US making coffee at home - it's got a real chill vibe and he has a very calming voice. Worth checking out if you want coffee tips, or just to chill. Keep up the great work Jack - you're smashing it.
I've tried desperately to get into this game as I love previous BF entries but there is just nothing there that grips me. I hope its back to normal next time.
I've been having so much on BF 2042 recently. I've gotten so bored of MWII multiplayer. I occasionally play Warzone but BF 2042, even though I play by myself, is so much fun. It feels so awesome when you see all the bullets flying around and the air craft flying over you while there's tanks and other vehicles fighting below you. Theres obviously room for improvement but it's still a fun game and that's the important thing.
NO NEW MAPS TO BUY EVEN IF YOU WANT ALWAYS THE SAME DAMN BORING MAPS NO SERVER BROWSER NO LOBBYS ON A NORMAL AFTERNOON THANK GOD I GOT IT FOR FREE ON PSN NEVER SHOULD ANYONE SPEND MONEY ON THIS GAME THERE IS NO ADDED CONTENT WHAT SO EVER
I just really love the large scale battles and epic moments that come with it. It's also (like you said in the video) a game where I can turn my brain off and just have some casual fun.
Having a mid range gun fight next to a tornado in Stranded on max settings is something else. The game is a different experience at 4k on max settings, unlike other shooters. Debris and weather effects are amazing.
DICE...look at what Battlebit Remastered has accomplished and simply expand on that at a AAA level. Cut your loses with 2042 and lets get a proper BF game already.
I've been playing bf2042 on and off since release, but not nearly as much as something like bf4 or even bf1. As for youtube recommendations, Lemmino is one of my favourites and if you're into space, PBS Space Time really satisfies the nerd in me. The latter requires a while to get into, but once you're in, you're hooked. Shout out to Matt O'Dowd. Entertaining guy and a fantastic educator.
I like that graphic you showed about the top weapons and characters. I wish they broke the top weapons down by the most used combinations of attachments, as well. That would be cool to see to help with building a newly unlocked gun or maybe solve issues you could be having with a gun you are using.
A really cool channel with amazing story telling and very interesting topics is "The Why Files". Not sure if you're into that kind of thing but after discovering it I can't wait for their weekly new video!
No other game offer the same balance of vechile and infantry gameplay. There is something so satisfying to hunt tanks for the team or shoot down choppers and see how your effort benefitted the whole team.
I really enjoy the gunplay honestly, it feels pretty good and I do like the maps, especially now they reworked a few of them, really looking forward to future seasons, and to see how they do weapon tuning as the game progresses
THE IS NO FCKN SEASON PASS AVAILABLE IN EUROPE SO I CANT EVEN BUY MORE MAPS GOT THE GAME FOR FREE ON PSN NO WONDER ABSOLUT CRAP IF YOU CHARGE MONEY FOR IT
I feel like BF walks a fine line between realism and accessibility that not many, if any, shooter series manage to walk. Also Conquest 64 servers are not so large that battles become unmanageable chaos but not so small that I feel the need to be constantly sweating to contribute to the team. And yeah, the battlepass is very lax, I only play a handful of rounds a week and I'm able to finish the battlepass a week or two before the end of the season.
Simply put, it’s a good shooter that nobody wants to sweat over, not unlike previous BF games. Likely the best CoD alternative that’s known by the widespread public atm. It’s not quite at the echelon that Battlefield has usually been at, but it’s still a fun shooter. I definitely think Breakthrough is the defining mode for this game, since it makes the best use of the crazy large maps by progressing through it as the points are captured. Not quite the miracle that occured with BF4, but the game still made a nice rebound, and probably still gets too much flak for the way it was 2 years ago.
@@Dar1usz plain bs. Battlebit might be fun but it lacks in so many ways and it does not even know what kind of game it wants to be. Impressive for 3 people, absolutely but you can see it could need a few people that know how map design, balancing etc works.
I’ve played 2042 on again off again since release. Have over half of the guns T1. What always brings me back though are the “only in battlefield moments”. This game and this franchise is the only on that just provides you with some of the most unique, badass and often times hilarious, moments. No other game can produce moments like that.
I was a Cod only fps player for a majority of my life and I heard so much about and watched so many great videos about bf4 up unto 2018 or so .... got bf4 and got absolutely addicted .. then bf1 then bf5 and 2042 just came next and I just kept playing. Lol
I play Falck with the SCAR, with under-barrel grenade launchers and the + system (frag-armor-incendiary) you have quite a bit of anti-armor, run smoke grenades and the shotty and you're set, most versatile build in the game for sure, strong at range, strong up close, deal with everything.
I recently bought Battlefield 2042 when it was on sale and I do not regret buying it because it's a game where I'm able to get some of the Battlefield experience from previous games and casually complete the battle pass without spending weeks grinding it.
breakthrough and TDM offer that grind feeling when you just want to upgrade weapons and vehicles, then conquest and rush offer a more tactical style for those who wanna get wins and make plays so it offers most of what i want from a multiplayer FPS. just wish it has a 1 life mode like CSGO cuz that would play well with the gadgets and specialists
I don't play BF atm, but Girl With The Dogs is indeed an awesome chill channel Jack, found it couple months ago and will almost daily watch a vid. She's a master at her craft.
Battlefield always has a special place in my gaming heart, BF4 I had 1300+ hours alone lol so with the latest update it’s bringing good nostalgia back, and I don’t take things a serious now a days just want to kick back and shoot guns lol
An arcade shooter where only class has access to regenerating health? What a great idea, I'm sure it will overtake Battlefield with that brilliant design
As for RU-vid channels, i really love the bearded butchers channel. Full breakdowns of animals, in depth descriptions, cooking tips, just so much and always get weird looks when i talk about it to people hahah worth a shout
Picked it up in season3 for heavy discount. My aim takes a holiday in 2042 from Valorant, bf2042 is of my fav bf games, although it does have horrible angle discrepancy. Audio sounds good Jack.
If you like the satisfying aspect of the dogs being groomed, you might like any of the channels where they mow lawns and do landscaping. A lot of them do it for free on properties that are way overgrown, and it is really satisfying to watch the transition and see the end result
Wood turning (lathe) is one that I watch trying to self teach myself but it's actually really chill watching a bit if timber be shaped in a bowl candle holder etc
Im a Battlefield fan since BF3. I was disappointed with 2042 at launch as everyone was. However, ive never stopped playing and the game has being getting better and better with each update. Its clear that right now the game is so much different, even tweaking or reworking some core features in the game, from what it was at launch. Thats something you cannot say about other games rn. Is it the least Dice could do to save the franchise? Yes. Is it a small task tho? It gives me hope for this and future titles.
After playing Battlebit, which has very little aimcone, I'm questioning if I should even return to BF2042. My number one gripe with this game is that you can get your reticle on someone, control recoil well, but then still have to pray that your bullets end up hitting them past close-mid range.
BB has so many features that BF fans wanted for years but they never added. You can't tank camp, you can drag players, talk to anyone close to you, a real building mechanic (unlike BFV), way more customization, full destruction etc...
Jack you are genuinely such an inspiration to us you don't even know!!! I feel like i can speak for most people on that, you are so good at any of these games ive seen you play and yet you are still more worried about whether you are enjoying your time on it or not, you don't get upset over deaths (that we see anyway) and its such an enjoyable time watching your content. In a time where content creators are worried about being the best you just want not only yourself but your fans to have a good time. Much love brother, may god bless our days ahead!
Nice Jack 😎 good to see some footage. I ditched cod a week ago and been on this since. Getting into it more now, definitely the best cod alternative for me.
I played loads of the last season and I hadn't played for almost a year and I really enjoyed it. Got a bit burnt out after 4 or 5 week of playing this and nothing else but stil has it's pro's and cons like any game.
I’ve seen a lot of comments recently saying the game is fixed now, so I wanted to check it myself and it really is. I’m having fun with BF 2042 and I’m glad DICE put some effort into it, pulling the game out of a complete mess.
I love just hopping in and going Maximum Effort Medic haha. Medics are often terrible so I take pride in going for more revives than kills and keeping everyone topped up, it's so much fun. Way too many medics play too safe and won't run into combat for a revive, so I will always throw my life away to get a few people up lol
I’ve played 2042 since launch just about Everday to at least get match of the day xp. It’s been a ride, but at the end of the day I find it enjoyable to just sit down and do whatever you want without having to just sweat kills. If you want you can play transport or medic there’s so much variety depending on how you feel like playing.
All those statements you said why we play it are true. More fun than CoDMW2 and Halo. I keep buying battle pass too. The maps are always evolving. And the maps change weather or layouts from damage or weather. I swap between 2042 and Star Wars Battlefront 2.
I avoided the game at first with how it launched but I can honestly say that the game is in a good state right now. I’ve been playing BF since BC2 days so Ive always had a love for the franchise! I would argue that BF2042 is a much better place now than MW2 is. Just a fun shooter to hop on with friends, I do hope with future games that they go back to basics and also better destruction, I miss leveling entire buildings!
Jack stops to smell the roses. Love watching him discover new stuff on maps....quite entertaining. "ahhh a snowman!" Like a little kid. lol good stuff.
I’ve been playing 2042 since launch and knew eventually it was going to get better. I really started playing more when season 3 dropped and have been having a ton of fun with all the new stuff they’ve added. I’ve gotten some friends to come back and give it a try and we try to get a few games in every night knocking out the weekly challenges and maxing out guns.
i'm having more fun playing battlebit than playing bf 2042. Proximity voice chat should be implemented in the next battlefield game, this feature is funny.
Been playing this since bf1942 and secrets of ww2.. we have come a long way this is actually very good game.. had its problems at first.. things got better with updates.. always does.
I just love to be a random soldier that in the scale of everything doesn’t matter, I don’t feel the pressure to do anything, and I already played the hell out of the other titles, I love this franchise
@@Hablift it is quite literally the same game lol, just because it doesnt have crazy graphics doesnt mean you cant compare the two. battlebit feels like playing battlefield 2 for the first time again but with way more players and more destruction than any BF since like BC2. the future is bright for that game, i cant say the same for the entire BF franchise
@@Hablift one is a buggy mess riddled with broken promises, while the other was made by 3 fucking devs and has more features and better gameplay than bf2042
I bought the game about 2 months back. I am really enjoying it so far, it is definitely the best battlefield of the best couple of years (to me). Even though bf3 and bf4 have allot of nostalgia for me, I do sometimes think this is becoming my favourite bf. I feel like with the edition of Portal they should not make a games at the same rate as normal, because it has so much potential. As far as i have heard from the release, the game has improved immensely, and the devs have been doing a great job. I do really miss the dog tag colleting (from knives & challenges). I also just feel like b3-4 medals felt so achieving, but that might just be the age, and the friends that the achievement were shared with.
Lol I don't, I deleted the game a week before to make space for BF1, it just didn't immerse me or really excite me with the map/environment design, and the music was pretty lame 😅 I hope the devs learn from this iteration and develop their creative skills
Gameplay feels very smooth imo and I like the balance of game at the moment. I have hope for this game to stay alive. It’s a modern BF title and no other active games really replicate it.
@@tiestofalljays meh. It’s fine because it’s the “hot new toy” but I don’t see it’s longevity to be blunt. Seems like another fad that will be forgotten about given maybe a couple months.
@@thysquid2157 Well then check back in a few months lmao. Community Servers for that game are going to be nuts. Been playing BF since BF 2, Battlebit’s got it.
Honestly jack, if you want some satisfying RU-vid content I highly suggest the rug cleaning videos. They can be REALLY satisfying. Great video as always jack have a good day bud.
I've loved this game from the launch. In the beginning it was so broken but in such fun ways. Driving a hovercraft up a skyscraper & getting caught into a tornado & safely thrown across that map.. Such fun times personally
i play BF 2042 because i'm too busy with my career and its nice to take a day off to play and shut down my brain, these " hardcore gamers" probably don't have a career but a job and when you don't have that type of time to play video games you actually have fun and not take things serious, a lot of hardcore gamers need to stop acting toxic and go back to knowing what it means to have fun in a video game
I played for the first time again today (only the new map / conquest) since 1+ year ago. I can't remember anymore. And it's playing good. I had fun. I feels so different compared to how i remember it.
I play BF2042 because I have enjoyed playing Battlefield since 1942. It is a full on FPS game that let's you do anything you want. Started middle of Season 3 because I was not going to play it until they finished it. Now it actually feels like a modern Battlefield which means lots of opportunities to have fun with little effort.
I am genuinely having so much fun playing BF2042 right now, and that’s not something I saw myself saying a year ago. Every time I go play COD right now I can’t wait to play this game afterwards to actually have some fun gaming.
I tried on multiple occasions to come back to this game, but it just feels weird to me. I really can't get used to the movement. BF5 was much more fluid.
@@chrisrowe2308 bfV is constantly touted as the best movement in any bf game. You've only got to look at most posts online regarding movement in bf games and the majority want that system in this game.
@@ChopperMeir I enjoyed BFV and personally never really cared one way or the other about the movement/animations. 2042 is a more chaotic game then BFV so I am perfect fine with the smoother and faster movement.
