It’s his music and his attitude towards his haters, he won’t admit he’s and industry plant, and doesn’t take criticism for his surface level lyrics, unhealthy and bad screams and average vocal performance

I thought the lyrics were surface level, but I was speaking to his character. he seems like an ok guy. is the industry plant thing proven? or are you just assuming that. If people are hating he can handle it however he wants. I dont really care if someone doesn't take criticism. it's up to him if he wants to take it or not.I really do not understand what you are trying to get at here.

I think he's fantastic. Love that he combines a punk attitude with a more traditional rock sound. Heaven Was Full has an amazing guitar solo, as do several of his other songs. I may not agree with him on everything but that doesn't matter. I definitely admire him & can't wait to see everything he accomplishes in the years to come... He's totally right about the crabs in the bucket thing.

I've been to one of his concerts. Almost everyone in his fan base is super supportive. Evan is also just a super nice guy. He brings positivity wherever he goes.

The thing with the emo community and their love for hating, I think it’s because they don’t want their community being colonized by outside groups, ESPECIALLY TAYLOR SWIFT FANS, so when they feel that someone might be an outsider, they want them out. It sounds racist, but it makes sense when you realize that the group is fighting to stay alive, and is afraid of being drowned out by more popular groups invading their space.

I've been a fan of TX2 since his album 99 proof, and to see the fan base grow is amazing! I don't think he deserves all the hate he gets, but hating on an artist is something people will always do. I like how he embraces it though, I think it takes a lot of guts and confidence to be uniquely yourself, not everyone can do that.

Going on tour with Ice Nine kills, Avatar and In this Moment coming up. They'll open the show but it's going to be hard to get love I feel on this tour with the crowds from the bands with them. Avatar are amazing and live are awesome and In this Moment as well. They are just a weird addition to the others and I feel they're going to get alot of hate from the crowds but that's what makes you even stronger as a band. Props to Evan and can't hate on the grind at all! Stoked how far they've gotten over the last year and a half.

I think the problem lays in people not wanting bands to have subcategories and not understanding a song can relate to many genres and a solitary song description these days is just silly since it can fit in soo many subcategories now. People are so focused on trying to label “one” genre or category on a band when the reality is music is “art”

I think it’s less about if he’s serious or not, and more about the fact that there has been a pattern of fetishization of goths in the past. even if it’s a joke, it very much plays into those patterns, and that’s why people found it offensive or problematic. it spreads the wrong impressions.

Evan probably had a filter on by accident lol because my mom once video called me with a hat filter, and she didn't know how to use the app too well and I thought it was a real hat at first so we were talking to each other with the filter on for a good while before realizing it was there was a filter on. I like some of TX2’s songs but I think what keeps me on the fence is that I wasn’t sure if he was for real or just a parody but that was only because I first found his TikTok and found a lot of it really funny. Secondly like he said in the interview, he leans into the hate but it’s almost to his detriment. He has a tendency to be too rage baity online. I’ll never try to speak for an entire scene or a band/artist especially if they’re dead but his Linkin Park cover was genuinely bad and I would like to see him get better as an artist but he if he just continues egging on haters with possibly intentionally divisive songs or promotion his career could plateau

I don't dislike him personally, but he is a bit try-hardy. It's just this new wave of Pop Punk & Emo comes off really corny to someone who's been listening to Alternative Music for the last 20 years. If you like TX2 that's totally fine, and I hope the guy is very successful. But in the same way MGK is just a caricature of Emo, this dude is basically "Ronnie Radke at Home".

i’m sorry but some of TX2’s music is straight up unlistenable. yeah, i get it, it’s his trauma. we all have fucking trauma. doesn’t make songs like Burn any less cringe, trashy, absolutely ridiculous. aside from the production none of it is imaginative or well made. if you enjoy his music, that’s absolutely fine though! i am not saying you’re lesser or that TX2 as a person is lesser for making the music he does. i personally just cannot stand it.
